There's no room service on the last morning. Recommend buffet if you're looking for fastest, but they move you through in the mdr very quickly that last morning. If you decide on mdr, you might want to order whatever is the featured dish. That comes out faster.

I noticed that on our upcoming cruises. Hmmm indeed. I can't see that anything changes for cc minis on Royal Class ships, but there could be something in the works or I might have missed something.

Wind is certainly an issue with these cc minis, but on our recent Alaska cruise on the Discovery in M107 I was nearly always able to find a place on the very large balcony that I could sit out of the wind. I imagine this will vary considerably, depending on where the ship is and where it's going.

This question turns up here on a regular basis, and it is, as you say, an opinion question. Most people like midship cabins, and most CC cabins are midship, mid-aft, mid-forward. The only exception to that is the Royal Class ships, which have four CC minis on high decks, all the way forward. If you're on a Royal Class ship and can't stand motion, then you probably shouldn't bid for the upgrade. Not likely you'd end up with one of these four, but it's always a mistake to confuse the unlikely with the impossible. If you're either not on a Royal Class ship or don't mind motion and you're fine with the cost, then I can't think of a downside. It's well worth it to us if we can get one of the four forward-facing CC minis on Royal Class ships since we like those cabins so much. It might or might not be worth it to us on one of the other class ships, although the immediate seating in the MDR is a big deal with my hubby.

I think you nailed it. It would be iffy getting around the sofa in the middle of the night if it were a sofa bed. I never actually thought about that, since there's never three of us.

I thought so too. I thought all the sofas were sofa beds, but I couldn't get the forward corner minis on Royal and Discovery to show up if I selected 3 people. They did show up if I chose 2 people.

I sat on the little table part of the time. It's higher than the chairs, so I could see over the railing. I'm short too.

That is so weird! I was sure it was a pullout. Oddly, deckplans on Princess' site show it as having a sofa bed. I don't doubt your experience, but it's really odd. On another note, I see that these minis are now listed as "Reserve Collection Mini Suite." Wonder when they made that change. Edit: I was curious on this, so I checked it out. Those forward corner minis sure don't show up if you choose 3 persons, at least on Royal and Discovery. I lack both the patience and curiosity to check all of them, but I imagine they're all like that. Go figure.

Yes, you can. There's a small sofa that folds out or pulls out.

We were in M107 on the Discovery back in August. It's a great cabin, from my point of view. The cabin layout is superior, in that the sleeping area has some separate from the living area. There's a big, forward facing window in the bedroom that's really nice. After dark, you have to keep the curtains closed as long as you're up and around with any lights on, but you can open them back up when you go to bed and have some great star gazing. The balcony is huge. It extends out over the bridge. You do get a lot of wind, but I was always able to find a place out there that was acceptable to sit. I'll warn you that if it's foggy you will hear the fog horn. We were in M108 on the Royal a few years back, which is the same cabin but on port side rather than starboard. That cruise sold us on these M6 minis completely. We currently have four cruises booked, and all of them are in the M6 minis. Love those things.

This is basically useless to me. Epic fail.

I get the lamb chops when we go. They're always excellent. And the salted caramel creme brulee cheesecake is worth the trip all by itself.

That would annoy me plenty!

Sky, Western Caribbean for 7 days in February Royal, Alaska for 7 days in September

We did a northbound California coastal on the Ruby and a roundtrip Seattle Alaska sailing on the Discovery. Both were great. On the coastal, we had one of our favorite cabins, L104. That's a forward facing obstructed cabin that's much larger than standard and has great access to the little forward deck on Lido. On the Discovery sailing, we had one of our most favorite cabins, M107. There were some things we didn't like on the Ruby sailing, but the Discovery sailing was pretty much flawless.

What I've seen is that the grats are applied on a daily basis, and on a daily basis the obc is applied to them.

Not necessarily, but it may depend on the category you book. I book early and watch for price drops. Mostly, the price never gets lower than what I booked for, at least until after final payment. YMMV
