  1. Have been to Tallahassee and back! There were times East Bound I-10 looked like a Conga Line! Lot’s of RV’s. The “Snowbirds” are arriving for the winter. Lot’s of rain headed our way so I guess we will be staying in and enjoying our quiet home. We never go out on New Years Eve. We fly to Miami January 4 and will embark on Azamara Onward for a twelve day Caribbean cruise. It’s the ship we will go on the World Cruise in Jan 2024. We have booked the cabin we will be staying in for 155 days. So we’ll get a feel of what our grand adventure will be like. First we need to pack which is not very difficult on a Caribbean cruise and cruise line that is advertised Country Club Casual and most people follow. Enjoy your weekend and New Year! Bruce
  2. Good morning! Just a quick note as we are getting ready to head for Tallahassee so we can meet daughter and transfer granddaughter. So at least four hours of driving both ways this morning. Hoping we get this done before forecasted heavy rain arrives. Thanks for the reports and post.
  3. Good morning! Up early seeing our family off for their long drive home to California. It’s been a great time. We are a little behind on laundry and some other routine chores that will eventually get done. Right now our seven year old granddaughter takes up a majority of our time for one more day. Thanks Roy and friends for your various post and contributions. Have a great day!
  4. Our first Hal cruise on Volendam was in June 2007. She’s looking good and inviting. Thanks for sharing your cruise experience.
  5. Good morning! Fresh homemade tamales for breakfast. So mucho bueno! Kind of a gray 42 degree morning out there with temps forecasted to reach 62 degrees. We took advantage of son visiting and did a major clean out of our attic. Son wanted his old bunk bed, model trains etc and while we were at it we threw a lot of stuff away. We now have about six bins of recycling waste so it will take a few weeks to get rid of all. Neighbors without full bins have volunteered to help. Lunch on the bay at Lulu’s is still on the schedule. I’m running out of MeMe’s so will need to do some searching. Roy thanks for the report and care list and all who contribute. @lindalerI do hope your lost luggage is found soon.
  6. Thanks Lena. Your pictures brought back fond memories of our visit there on the MaS Oosterdam.
  7. Top of the morning to you all. Another below freezing morning but forecast show warming even into seventies later this week. We enjoyed our oyster stew dinner and everyone was early to bed after our trip across Florida. Our guest want more oysters for lunch so tomorrow will probably go to Lulu’s restaurant which is owned by Jimmy Buffets sister. They have really good fried oysters. Little one is still sleeping so there is some peace in the casa! Thanks for all who make the Daily special, prayers for those in need and wishes to all for a joyous and safe day. Bruce
  8. Sorry your having to go through this. I do hope it all gets resolved soon.
  9. We made it home with two granddaughters riding in back. They were darlings and no fusses. Our seven year old Lana Jane wanted to come to Nana’s and Pop Pop’s house so we’ll have her till Friday where we will meet her mom half way in Tallahassee. Ms. Mathilda aka Tilly (almost three) rode with us to give her parents a little break before arriving later today we’re fresh Oyster Stew is on the evening menu. The car is unpacked and old Pop Pop who drove the 5+ hours with only one pit stop for gas is taking a break. At times 1-10 looked like rush hour in LA but it did thin out. Not one Florida Highway Patrol seen all day. Here’s pics of Lana and Tilly two of our five grandchildren.
  10. Good morning! Real short as we are packing up and heading home. We had a wonderful and memorable Christmas with family and grandchildren. Son and family from California will be following us home to spend a few more days. Now time to repack the “house” minus some food and wine. Have a great day and thanks Roy for all you do in keeping the Daily a daily event.
  11. Merry Christmas everyone! Santa has arrived but the grandkids are still asleep. Some quiet time and a hot coffee. We had a delicious prime rib dinner. Enjoyed watching the children and their excitement that Santa is coming. Today’s dinner will be centered around a honey baked ham. Well, kids are starting to stir so I need to get ready for the big event. May all of you have a wonderful and Blessed Christmas Day.🎄
  12. Good morning! Brr! It’s 18F at home with a windchill making it feel like 6F. Hopefully my neighbor will report no frozen pipes! We enjoyed a fun family fondue dinner last night then Nana and Poppy babysat so the adults could go out and get a break. Two granddaughters went right to bed but Miss Tilly had me singing lullabies for two hours before drifting off. Today’s project will be cooking a large prime rib and entertaining grandchildren. Thank for the reports and post. Keep safe and warm.
  13. Sorry to hear that. With this weather system and these unknowns so many Holiday happenings being affected.
