  1. On our January 5 Onward cruise we witnessed six guest on first night not allowed in Discoveries because they were wearing shorts. Most appeared clueless that there was a dress code.
  2. @smitty34877 Happy Birthday! Also Happy Birthday to my Dear Wife Susan!💐🍾❤️
  3. Good morning! Slept later than usual. Yesterday was a football marathon for lack of anything else going on. Head cold seems better but still lingering. It’s Monday and I’m looking at a full hamper of laundry to wash. It’s 43 degrees this morning and will get up to 57. That’s why the laundry bin is full as we are wearing bulkier clothes this time of year. My handwriting is atrocious and it’s rare that I even write anymore accept an occasional signature. Thanks for the Fleet Report, Care list and our food and beverage departments. Have a great week everyone.
  4. Carolyn condolences and prayers for you and your family. Bruce
  5. Actually I was very proud of where the Jags took themselves this year. Looking forward to next year. Congrats to KC.
  6. Good morning! It will be online services today as we both have cold symptoms. Probably from the lady who coughed all the way from Miami to Atlanta last Tuesday!😡 Received quite a bit of rain early this morning along with some thunder & lightning. Sending it over to Sandee’s house in Georgia! Watched our Jacksonville Jaguars go down in defeat against Kansas City and was in bed by 7:30. We have no plans today other than maybe another football game. Staying in and keeping the cold symptoms contained and treating the sniffles and cough. It’s just a cold so please no Care list or special attention needed. Thanks for the reports and postings.
  7. Don’t hold me to this but I thought I heard folks with mobility issues could report to Cabaret Lounge and special transportation would be provided. Hopefully, someone on that cruise can verify one way or the other. Upon return to ship there was one bus that dropped folks off right at the gang way. The rest of us had to walk a rather lengthy walk down the pier which could be an issue with a person with mobility issues. The show itself featured the culture and music of Barbados and the islands. Pre show of two men costumed men on stilts and a steel drum band lasted about 45 minutes and in our opinion could have been shorter and the main started earlier.
  8. Thanks for the explanation. I had no clue how the system worked but was amazed by how well it delivered the best WiFi we have ever had on a ship.
  9. Good morning! Thanks Rich and Roy for today's Fleet Report and so much more. We have several families of tree rats living on our property and occasionally they have to be reminded certain areas are off limits! We have been to Cannes and I have been known to have a fondness for a good Cab! Haven’t had chicken cacciatore in awhile but it’s probably not on our got to lose a few pounds before our next culinary adventure in Mexico. Cancun does have some great eateries and those poolside Banana Monkey concoctions can challenge the waistline quickly! We need to do a little house cleaning today and go shopping for a few small items. Rain is possible today but a lot more probable North of us. Well that’s about it from this household and I’ll be looking forward to reading what’s happening in your neck of the woods! Have a great weekend. Bruce
  10. Top Of The Morning To All Of You. Cold front came through overnight and we are starting the day off in the mid forties! As mentioned yesterday, my cardiology evaluation showed the old ticker is working well. We are still adjusting to the realization that Sue retired in May. For instance, “Want to go shopping Saturday for a couple of items for our Cancun trip?” “Why do we have to wait to Saturday!” We can now go just about any day! We have many folks on our Care List here on the Daily, as well as several in our personal lives so we will continue to let them know we care and that our prayers give comfort and hopefully healing. TGIF is not as important anymore with the thanks being -TGIWU- THANK GOD I WOKE UP! Thanks for the Fleet Report and postings. Enjoy the upcoming weekend. Bruce
  11. Carolyn I’m sorry to hear of Patricia’s condition; prayers continued for you and her family.
  12. Just returned from my annual cardiology evaluation. Cardiologist said my heart is working as advertised! Alway good news. @Cruising-alongSorry to hear about your cousins medical condition!🙏
  13. Thanks I hope you enjoy your cruise as much as we did. I would still let cabin steward know so the USB’s work for the next person.
  14. We just finished an Onward cruise. Ship is looking great and we had a great time. One heads up. After getting to our cabin one of our I Phones needed charging so we plugged into the USB port ( underneath bedside lamps) and neither USB port worked. Our cabin steward came by and stated those USB ports are not compatible sometimes with I Phones! We mentioned this at our Meet and Mingle and other I Phone users stated not true their USB ports worked. Saw our cabin attendant and told him that other guest stated their phones charged in USB. Within 15 minutes a electrician arrived installed some parts in each USB and phones charged as they are supposed to. So if this happens to you don’t accept the I Phones are not compatible phrase. Ask to have them repaired.
  15. Morning folks! We achieved a lot yesterday with unpacking, laundry, mail sorting, bill paying and enjoying our recliners! Today is my annual cardiology evaluation and tonight we’ll meet with our church small group. In other words not many other things planned. It’s around 67F with a forecasted high in mid seventies. In looking around my yard and neighborhood the recent freezing temperatures has damaged a lot of shrubbery and plantings. Will wait and see if they survived with new growth. Need to do do some preparation for tonight’s small group get together. Thanks to all and continued prayers.
  16. Congratulations on your upcoming retirement and thank you for your years of service in the work force.
  17. On Jan 5 we had a Azamara Transfer pick us up at hotel. Hotel stored our luggage after checkout . Azamara transfer picked us at 1:00 and drove us to Terminal C. Handed over our checked luggage to porters then easily checked in and was giving boarding tag number two. Group one was called at two and we quickly followed. Getting to terminal early is not going to get you onboard any earlier. We disembarked Tuesday again Terminal C and the Azamara pre arranged transfer to airport was very efficient. It was a great cruise.
  18. Used Star Link on our Azamara cruise this week. How fast? Was able to download a Kindle E-book in two minutes. Keep in mind that the system is depending on satellites in the area you’re cruising. As new satellites are launched the better the coverage. It definitely worked in the Caribbean. Fastest and most consistent WiFi ever on a ship.
  19. Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport; fastest growing airport in US (they advertise). Runway is largest AFB in free world Eglin AFB.
  20. Good morning! We arrived home twenty minutes later than scheduled. Sue was headed to bed at 7:30 and I struggled to nine. I used to utilize a thesaurus quite often during my military career for speeches and writings but now you get whatever spews out of my mouth. I so rarely write these days I struggle with my penmanship. Really missing having a latte alfresco and being waited on hand and foot but so Blessed we get to experience our cruises over and over again. On our last day of cruise we attended a Q&A with Captain, HD and Chief Engineer. It really opened our eyes as the daily supply issues they struggle with every day. Not getting enough black pants for crew or officers waiting until last week to receive scabbard rank insignias to wear on their epaulets. Certain wines and liquors never arrive, bottled glassware shortage due to gas shortage in Europe. One really has to cruise with an open mind and patience these days. HD stated “ yes we had no bananas on a particular cruise when the order was rejected at port due to they were rotten!” Tomorrow I have an appointment for my annual echocardiogram followed by seeing my cardiologist. Six years ago I had open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve with a bovine valve. Yes, DW does say once in awhile I moo in my sleep! Thanks to all who post and continued thoughts and prayers for those in need. Kazu I hope your orthopedic appointment today gives you some reassurance and relief from pain. Enjoy the day!
  21. Now that I’m in Sky Lounge awaiting final flight home I have time to look for some pics from our April 2019 Maasdam visit to Tonga. The Kings Palace, reception band and watching the fishing pigs furrowing for crustaceans at low tide made for a memorable visit. Looking forward to my recliner and bed! Long day!
  22. Good morning! Well the fork lifts are honking away which means we are at Terminal C in the Port Of Miami and our cruise is over. I’m sure glad I didn’t pack my sweater in hallway bag as I will need it this morning. Rather nippy in Miami! We have a ships transfer to airport then a three hour wait for flight and another 3 hour layover in Atlanta. If all goes well we will be home around 6:15 PM Central Time. It was a great cruise and our next one will be on Eurodam in April. Florida to Seattle and some new ports along the way. Roy thanks for the report and list. Off to get a latte and a lite breakfast. Bruce
  23. Have been in Club Continent Suite #8033 on Onward for eleven nights now. Maybe three noises from above entire cruise and that was prepping for White Night. I’ll also add it’s been one the quietest cabins we have had in over 500 days at sea. Must have been well built as no squeaking, groaning noise during rough seas. We will be in this cabin for 155 days on 2023 World Cruise. Can’t wait!🛳
