  1. They hold back some reservations, so try to book shows as soon as you board. There is also a standby line for all the shows. Get in the standby line early for the aqua show so you can get a decent seat and not have to sit in the splash zone.
  2. I wonder if that is a glitch. I was just pricing a few cruises and chose junior suite guarantee and it let me pick my cabin.
  3. Best wishes to a speedy recovery for your Mom. I know when my DH had surgery to repair his ruptured quad, he was only allowed to cruise six weeks later because we were driving to the port. His surgeon said he should not fly because of the chance of blood clots. We did drive to the port and we sailed, but he found his leg swelled a lot with the increased activity, so we chose to stay on the ship and just chill. One of the best things we brought was an old fashion ice pack that has the screw top to fill with ice. They do not sweat and are so much better than ziploc bags. CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc all carry them for around ten dollars. We requested an extra large bucket of ice twice a day for him to ice his leg and the cabin steward took care of it. We also requested a shower chair, which did fit in our shower on Anthem with no issues. It was safer for him to sit and shower. He was in a hip to ankle leg brace for the trip and we brought his cane, even though he had been cleared to stop using it by PT. Better safe than sorry. It wasn't the cruise we planned but we had a good time. I hope she feels she can go but make sure she takes it easy if she does go.
  4. We did Radiance in 2018 too with a cruisetour out of Fairbanks before the cruise. We did 4B and then the cruise from Seward, 5/25/18 thru 6/5/18. We did Quantum to Alaska in May 2022. We will definitely be doing Alaska again.
  5. It is really simple to do. Each person who is in the suite will have a free voom package loaded on their account. All they need to do is connect to Royal wifi and then open a browser. They will be redirected to a login, just like at a hotel, and they will need their cabin number, name and year of birth. They then choose the option for free included voom or something similarly named. They will choose a login and password. It is really quite simple.
  6. If you are sailing Oasis, don't switch to 8660. The A/C was noisy at night time with a drip type noise. There was never any leaking but we had to turn it off a couple of nights because of the noise.
  7. Diamonds get 4 drink vouchers a day, loaded to your sea pass card, to be used at anytime during the day on any drink up to $14.
  8. I take a 5 inch battery/usb fan on every cruise, never had it taken.
  9. We just had a GS on deck 8 on Oasis a few weeks ago. Location was very quiet. I was more concerned about the noise from the Music Hall since it has doors that are opened to the elevator lobby, but we never heard a thing. We still prefer deck 6 to deck 8 though.
  10. If you are bringing them on at your port of departure, you likely will be okay with them in a ziploc bag. I would not take the ziploc bag of nuts off in a port or try to bring it on in a port due to agriculture laws. Factory sealed is your best option.
  11. iPhones seem to do better. We had updated our iOS and apps prior to boarding so that likely helped too. I have an iPhone 13 and DH has an iPhone 8.
  12. That wasn’t our experience at all on Oasis a few weeks ago. We received notifications immediately. App worked very well for us.
  13. Your genie will contact you and make all your reservations for you. You will get the time you want with no issues since you are star class. Specialty restaurants are included with star class, as well as Coastal Kitchen. You might decide not to eat in the main dining room at all.
  14. An owner's suite is sky class. An owner's loft suite is star class. Royal Suite Class is only available on Oasis class and Quantum class ships. Explorer is neither of those classes, it is a Voyager class ship.
  15. We always bring on a can of cashews to enjoy with a drink on the balcony. Now that there are not anymore bags of chips available at Park Cafe and Cafe at Two70, we need to add a can of Pringles too.
  16. You are fine bringing on factory sealed snacks and treats. Even the Fanny Farmer mints should be fine even if you have opened the box. Perishable foods are not allowed to be brought on per the prohibited list. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/prohibited-items-onboard-policy
  17. It isn't kinda standard, Oasis is scheduled to dock at 6am (actually docked at 5:30) and self disembark is scheduled to start at 6:30. Telling the OP the line starts at 6:30 and they should be okay if there in it by 7 and the line starts moving at 7:10 - 7:15 is way off. As per the departure information posted above, Self Disembark starts at 6:30am. People were already in line before 6am. Suite/Pinnacles and the Key were all scheduled to start at 6:45 but I saw the concierge loading the first group into the elevator just after 6:30 when we were going to Coastal Kitchen for breakfast. First tag numbers were set for 6:45. Different ports and even different ships at the same port have their own schedules. As some posted, Liberty comes into Bayonne at 7am, thus their departure schedule is not the same as Oasis. Even the schedule I posted from our very recent sailing on Oasis could be different by the time the OP sails next month. We sailed Oasis last October and the times were all 15 minutes later but still before 7am for self disembark.
  18. Yes, I remember Explorer sailing from there, I don't think either of those ships have sailed from Bayonne recently though. We have sailed Oasis twice from Bayonne, most recently a few weeks ago. With a 6am scheduled arrival time, the OP should be able to get to an exam in the Bronx as long as it isn't scheduled extremely early. If the ship is delayed, all bets are off.
  19. Independence and Explorer were sailing from Bayonne?
  20. We don't get in the self disembark line, we wait for it to clear and then head out. As long as I am over the GW by 8am, I am happy. 🙂 We can be home before noon if the traffic cooperates.
  21. They are on Oasis which is scheduled to dock at 6am. We were actually docked by 5:30am. Liberty is scheduled to dock at 7am. Bayonne definitely has a lot of people that self disembark!
  22. Not sure what ship you’re referring to as those times are not what we have experienced in Bayonne at all. The OP is not going to be flying from Bayonne to the Bronx either.
  23. We were just on Oasis a few weeks ago and self assist started at 6:30. Here is the departure information.
  24. I would still check out cafe at Two70 as she might see something. There is also a dessert section and specialty coffee area there. Cafe promenade on Anthem isn’t as good as other ships. They seem to have less options there. The Sorrentos that is right next to it is the best one we have experienced.
  25. I don’t remember cheddar cheese and the only sandwich they make is the kummelwick. Everything else is premade and some like panini they heat. There is also a soup there each day. Sounds like the windjammer would be a better choice for her as there are many more options.
