  1. I understand your perspective. For us, it works great. We usually take the second or third position in line, allowing us to go fast. It is also a decent ride for a "guided" experience, which is necessary in this case as you are in Haiti and to avoid "obstacles" in more shallow areas. We try to reserve well before the cruise to get the best price and also it allows us to get one of the first time slots of the day .... so that we have the rest of the day to enjoy the beach. Happy Cruising!
  2. We always do the jet skis at Labadee and always enjoy it. It is the only thing we have ever paid for there....
  3. My recent experience with a 3 day package was that I had to pick a time and only late times were available. When I got on board the planner in the app said I had a Wonderland reservation at that time. I never chose Wonderland. I simply went to a specialty restaurant upon boarding and was able to choose the restaurants, 3 dates and times (including the first night). I could get pretty close to what I wanted. It seems to be the standard process.
  4. Understand your feeling. We simply have no interest in eating that early (TD 5:30) every day of the cruise.
  5. We are still signing up for MTD, but clearly it is not working as originally designed. The whole idea was to give you flexibility as to when you dined (from an early to a late time ... and varying every night if desired). We never had an issue with it until lately. You should not have to switch to early traditional dining. I documented this concern in my last survey and hope others are as well. We met a couple waiting on line (for a long time) for MTD on a recent cruise and they told us it was their first Royal cruise and they would not be sailing again with Royal because of this issue. They indicated it works fine on other cruise lines and it is important to them.
  6. They resumed sailing to Labadee quite some time ago.
  7. I think this is a relatively recent thing in the specialty restaurants? They take the photos and then come back within an hour with the printed results and ask you to purchase them. When I asked if we could look at them later in the cruise and consider buying, they said no. We chose not to purchase. But I experienced this at multiple specialties in the last few weeks. Will simply say no thanks to picture-taking in the future at these restaurants.
  8. I have always experienced what you are observing. I simply pick a date/time and then go to a specialty restaurant as soon as onboard and get adjusted. You can usually get somewhat close to what you desire.
  9. He had a birthday on our recent cruise..... nice cake. 🙂🎂
  10. We had the same experience. In fact, one of us could book an excursion pre-cruise, but not the other. We immediately got on the waiting list for the 2nd person, to no avail.
  11. Captain Johnny back on Harmony August 3, 2022.
  12. We found the fridges quite cool on very recent cruises on both Explorer and Harmony.
  13. You are right. As hot or hotter at home. And if our son had not watered our plants while we were away, they would not have survived.
  14. Keeping up with this thread is a whirlwind, especially while traveling. We just completed a 3 week trip from New Jersey to Florida by car with multiple stops and 2 cruises. Explorer of the Seas out of Miami followed immediately by Harmony of the Seas out of Port Canaveral. We had fun. Best wishes to all of you. Here are some photos: Outer Banks, North Carolina Pompano Beach, Florida, where my parents owned a condo for many years. Sunset, Curacao. Aruba from ship: CoCo Cay ..... South Beach.... most people had left to get back on the ship... And (yes) a brief stop on the way home at Amelia Island, Florida. 🙂
  15. If pricing a cruise online, click on the option (as in screen shot below) that says Apply a promo code and exclusive rates discounts. Enter your C&A number, etc. and proceed to price a balcony.
  16. He definitely rolled his eyes and groaned. 😉 But still turned down the road so I could get the shot. Ha.
  17. Particularly beautiful at our local reservoir in Northern New Jersey this evening... yes, I made my husband divert for a picture again.
  18. Every borough with the exception of Staten Island. When he retired he was a Lt. Detective squad commander. We will have to leave it at that. 😉
  19. It is a great place. My parents owned a bungalow there for a number of years. They also rented some bungalows other years. My maternal grandparents owned a bungalow for many, many years. That is when my Grandpa told me he had a faucet with which he turned on and off the Atlantic Ocean. We attended the church to which your are likely referring.... There were lots of bonfires and fireworks on the 4th of July weekend. Meanwhile we are just home from Connecticut ..... a pretty lake scene....
