  1. There's only the one. The other is down while they work on the Pier 66 Hotel.
  2. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I will celebrate festival of sleep; we all need good sleep to function. No fruitcake here to toss, and the fruitbread I make at Christmas is delicious! Humiliating someone else is bad; if it's a day to be humble, that's good. The quote is sad. The meal sounds good. Maybe on the drink and the champagne is too pricey for me. I haven't been to Amber Cove. It's warm but very rainy here today. A good day to stay inside and do some cleaning. BFF is leaving today, back to his house. We had a good time at the Gardens yesterday, then dinner out after. Then last night seeing the devastating event with Damar Hamlin, who is from here, we were shocked; prayers for him. @rafinmd Thank you for starting the Daily up today, and keeping our lists. @Seasick Sailor Good for you for holding that vendor accountable! @cat shepard I hope Bindi will be ok. @aliaschief Safe travels tomorrow. @Petunia1950 Welcome to the Daily. Beautiful cats. @ger_77 I'm glad you made it safely to Ft. Lauderdale. Enjoy your day there. Prayers for the Care List. Bon Voyage to all leaving on the World Cruise! Cheers for the Celebration List. Stay well everyone.
  3. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I'm all for stopping spam, both on the phone and email. I'm trying something new today, so that fits. I used to be more introverted, but have become a bit less so as I got older. Excellent quote. Maybe on the meal, pass on the drink and yes to the wine. I have been to Australia, but haven't been to Port Lincoln. It's cloudy and raining off and on here, but at least it's 49F. I finally got a better night's sleep last night. BFF and I are going with friends to the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens later today. I think I went there once, when I first moved here over 40 years ago. They decorate inside and out for the holidays, and we always said we'd like to go see it. So today's the day! @rafinmd Thanks for getting the Daily started today. @ottahand7 I'm glad to hear you passed your tests. @mamaofami Happy Birthday to Sam! @Cruzin Terri Here's hoping everything proceeds quickly with the house. @StLouisCruisers Happy Birthday to DDIL! I hope your back feels better. I applied to a local university research program on lower back pain; I wasn't right for their study, but they gave me the contacts of two other studies going on. @Cat in my lap Bon Voyage! @richwmn Good news and enjoy the World! @smitty34877 I hope you get the all-clear tomorrow to start exercising. Getting your gait back to normal will take some time, I'm sure. Prayers for all in need and Cheers to those with something to Celebrate! Stay well everyone.
  4. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Rabbit, Rabbit, White Rabbit! Happy and Healthy New Year to all! No hangover here and I'll salute Ellis Island. I don't like the quote. I like the meal, but it'll be pork and sauerkraut for dinner tonight. I like the drink and pass on the wine. I haven't been to Freemantle. It's cloudy and in the 40's here. I woke up with a bit of an upset stomach from the late meal at midnight. I might even go back to bed. Otherwise, just a lazy day today. The Penguins are playing in the Winter Classic in Boston; I went to the very first one in Buffalo. It was magical, like being in a snow globe, but the drive back home was treacherous as nothing was done to the roads. I was never so glad to get home! @rafinmd Thanks for starting us up while Rich is cruising. @Cat in my lap Happy Anniversary! And have a great time on the World Cruise! @grapau27 Thank you for Fr. David's sermon. @ger_77 Safe travels to Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow and have a great cruise! @Seasick Sailor I'm glad that letting the old blood out from the nail helped; I've heard of doing that but thankfully have never had to do it. @StLouisCruisers Great photos from Freemantle. @smitty34877 Congratulations on your 38th year. @NextOne Enjoyed the delayed dinner with family. Go Steelers! 😉 @HAL Sailer Prayers for the family at this difficult time. @jodi58 Good to hear that your appetite has finally improved. @mamaofami Early Happy Birthday to Sam! @Quartzsite Cruiser Excellent photos, thanks. Prayers for those who need them and Cheers for those Celebrating. Stay well everyone.
  5. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn and to all who contribute. My mini bottle of champagne is in the fridge chilling this New Year's Eve (along with BFF's sparkling grape juice). World Peace Meditation is something we really need. Good quote. I'll pass on the meal, drink and the champagne costs a bit more than I want to spend. I haven't been to Tonga. Wishing everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year 2023! It's warm here, but rainy. There are 2 celebrations downtown; one at 6PM for those who can't stay up and kids, the other at midnight. It's supposed to not be raining by midnight. I'll be at home tonight. Later I'll be making pork and sauerkraut for midnight, and also some black-eyed peas and collard greens for tomorrow. BFF will come over later to ring in the new year, and stay a couple of days. @rafinmd Thank you for starting us up and keeping up with our lists. @StLouisCruisers Safe travels for DS and family, and early Happy Birthday to DDIL. @richwmn Thank you for the Fleet Report/Daily. How exciting to be about to start the world cruise. Happy New Year! @Seasick Sailor Good to hear your laundry was found. Nice picture of Allen from last year; I hope his cough disappears. Also I hope all test negative today. @ger_77 Condolences on the loss of DH's aunt, your cousin, and DDIL's Grandmother. @Mr. Boston Happy Birthday to Patricia! @HAL Sailer Prayers for DSIL that her pain will be eased. Also prayers for you and DH at this difficult time. I'm sure you are so glad you made the Christmas trip to see DSIL. @smitty34877 It's good to hear that life is normalizing, and that you're doing well and walking without pain. @garlictown Thank you for sharing the cruise photos. @grapau27 Lovely Table. Happy New Year! @Sharon in AZ Sorry to hear DS has a bad case of flu and I hope he's doing better soon. Prayers for the Care List. RIP Pope Benedict and Barbara Walters. A Toast to the Celebration List. Stay well everyone. From the Zaandam in Antarctica 12.31.2018.
  6. Sorry you ended up in the hospital. Get well soon!
  7. @rafinmd Roy, that was me. In Christchurch, we went to the International Antarctic Centre, so didn't see the city. In the low temperature chamber Lyttelton Timeball Station. From 1876 to 1934 a ball dropped from its mast on its stone tower, signaling the time to ships in Lyttelton Harbor.
  8. Thanks all. Prayers for Kathi for a resolution of her medical issues. Happy New Year to everyone!
  9. Posted by Kathi today on the Zuiderdam WC rollcall: Thanks for the concern, chefestelle. I was just getting ready to post that I have to cancel the world cruise. I am in the hospital and will be for a few days while they decide what can be done.
  10. From their website: Update 1/28/2022 : Cameras have been removed from the Pier 66 site today. We hope to return them once construction work is completed, possibly 2024, and have been enthusiastically invited to do so. In the meantime, if we can find a temporary home for an elevated view camera then we will.
  11. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Love pork bacon, although I sometimes use turkey bacon to be healthier. My two usual resolutions are to declutter my house and get more fit. I hope no enormous changes at the last minute. I like the quote. Maybe to the meal, yes on the drink and the wine is outside my budget. I have been to Christchurch on my HAL Auckland to Sydney cruise in 2006, but the port was Lyttelton. We mainly went to the Antarctic Centre, so didn't see the city. Wow, it's 62F out, with an occasional sprinkle and some sun. Feels great. I've been busy. I did grocery shopping this AM. Now doing laundry. My hands are bothering me from the RA, likely due to the one skipped dose of medication, which meant I had none for a month. @lindaler Ugh on the suitcase situation. I hope you can enjoy the cruise none-the-less. @ottahand7 Thanks for sharing pictures from your cruise. @rafinmd Thank you for starting the Daily up, and your lists. @StLouisCruisers Congrats on booking a new cruise. Nice pictures from Akaroa. @Seasick Sailor I hope Allen's cough is soon gone, and your laundry safely returned. @smitty34877 I'm glad you're gingerly doing some walking and got to visit with neighbors. I pray for a great 2023 for you and the family! @durangoscots Stay home and stay safe from the winter weather. Too bad about the manager's Covid and I hope she feels better soon. Not the way to start retirement. @luvteaching Great news on DH coming home! It sounds like you have everything arranged to make it go smoothly. Thanks for the update on Kathi; sad she's in the hospital and has to cancel the WC. @St Pete Cruiser Great photo. @Crazy For Cats Condolences on the loss of your neighbor; wow on his being 104. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to the Celebration List. Stay well everyone.
