  1. Interesting. Got those in the PH in the spring but not in my RS in the fall.
  2. And be sure to bring your passport to Guest Relations when trying to cash a check.
  3. I agree. Whether or not I'm in the PH or a RS, I never send anything to the laundry that hasn't been laundered many times at home. Good stuff gets dry cleaned.
  4. 1) You sure sounded ticked off to me that they wouldn't change your booking. 2) I have no idea who you did or did not contact. 3) I never said that the tips were pooled. The cabin attendant gets X amount/day depending on what sort of cabin you have booked. So, if you withhold the cabin attendant's tips, the cabin attendant is penalized. It feels to me like you're arguing. I'm done with this discussion. Enjoy the rest of your day.
  5. I spent about a month on two B2B cruises on Summit in 2022. Some of the most wonderful cruises I've been on, in terms of staff, food, etc. Will see how my January 2023 cruise on Millie goes. Not in a suite on that one. Will probably book another cruise while on board. Suite pricing has gone crazy, so don't know if my suite days are done or not.
  6. Look, I get that this person is ticked off that they wouldn't let him change his booking. But he has resisted our suggestion that he escalate his complaint to the CEO's office. And he proposes to take his anger out on the cabin attendant by canceling the tips for that person. In my view, that is not an appropriate response. The cabin attendant had nothing to do with the situation and will have to make up the cabin whether or not he/she is compensated for doing so. I sail solo and have been subjected to this double payment regimen since they started AI. I would never dream of stiffing a cabin attendant because of it. I do not mind paying double gratuities. The major problem is paying double internet and drink packages.
  7. Not a change. It has always been this way.
  8. Wi-fi calling works fine on Celebrity if your phone is set up appropriately. I've only used it with the premium package, so cannot comment on the basic package.
  9. Yes, it's good to look for and remove them when the stuff comes back. But sometimes I forget and don't discover them for a while.
  10. The other thing I like about PH or RS laundry is there is no need to save stuff up. You can send it out piece by piece as you use it and it will come back on hangers and not shoved in a bag.
  11. There is no point in arguing with this guy, his mind is made up. FYI, @Los_Pepes, if you remove the gratuities from your kids' room and give the cabin attendant cash, he/she is obliged to turn the cash in to the pool.
  12. No charge for pressing, dry cleaning, laundry in PH. Within reason. Some people were having all their family's laundry etc. done, so they had to state limits.
  13. I've sailed with select dining and have never seen the likes of the lines currently being experienced. I believe the MDR is understaffed.
  14. Yes, this is one of the problems for solo cruisers if they book with the AI rate. They get the wonderful privilege of paying for two drink packages, two internet packages, and two sets of gratuities. I have no problem with the two sets of gratuities, but I would normally tip the cabin attendant extra at a rate that would reflect that. Celebrity could fix this if they wanted to, but clearly they do not. So, buyer beware. And there is no workaround if you book a suite. Suites automatically come with AI.
  15. Wait until you get on board to purchase this. Once you have seen the spa, you probably won't want to purchase a pass. It looks nothing like the pictures you see online.
  16. I'm one of the fans of longer cruises--the longer the better. What's not to like about having someone else do the cooking and cleaning and laundry? And having your hotel move at night as opposed to your having to move.
  17. That's the only brand I've heard of. What is your recommendation for other brands? Will check them out. Thanks.
  18. Many things can happen between now and May. I had a SS booked on the Summit last fall and was thinking of canceling as I knew I would not be able to negotiate the tub to take a shower. Lo and behold, a RS opened up and I quickly grabbed it, thanks to the alertness of one of my roll call pals. Fingers crossed for you!
  19. I don't understand why you would want to dine in the main dining room when you can dine in Luminae. You can order off the MDR menu in Luminae and you will get much more personalized service there. The MDR is huge and noisy. It has both set dining times and open dining times.
  20. Personally, I think the surveys are too generic to be useful. I write notes to the hotel director about people that I feel to be outstanding employees while on board. Once when the two waitresses in Bacio were being literally run off their feet and an officer came to help them I specifically told him how lucky he was to have them working for him. When I had a problem getting the points for my double points cruise and had correspondence with the president's office about that, I started out by praising by name those who had made my cruise special. I think that's more meaningful for the employees than a generic survey.
  21. Good luck getting 6145 or 6146. They sell out immediately. Because of the tub issue.
  22. I had the same experience when returning from a recent trip. Taxi was cheaper than Uber or Lyft. And definitely cheaper than my usual private car service which was unable to pick me up that day.
  23. The tub/shower combo in the sky suite is the same as the celebrity suite. Definitely an accident waiting to happen. No grab bars. And no jacuzzi.
  24. Your room steward should have provided the beach towels. Or you can just go up to the pool and get some.
  25. Whenever I've sailed solo and paid a single supplement, I've received double points. So I would have received 100 points for that cruise. Plus the Go Green bonus which would have been 5 points.
