  1. Pleased to hear your cruise on Ovation is amazing. Nice to have a month in Australia to look forward to.
  2. When I first cruised overseas for a year, my big ships were Chandras Queen Frederica (1200 passengers) and P&O Chusan (988). Passengers from UK on both were on world cruises.
  3. It is. These are unique bargain fares for Viking Cruises. These luxury cruises include some excursions and free wifi.
  4. Bon Voyage for your longer cruise north. Enjoy your stay at the Marriott and your short walk to the Majestic on Thursday.
  5. Bon Voyage Half the clothes and twice the money was the best advice I ever received. I've been in Sydney a month and haven't worn any summer clothes. However, summer clothes will be useful on your cruise north. Wow Four more cruises before Christmas - impressive!
  6. vikingcruises.com.au A beautiful informative website. (80 ocean, river and expedition ships. All verandah ships, inc some excursions, free wifi, 930 passengers)
  7. If there is a 4wd bus tour of the island, it is a beautiful island to tour - Cape Moreton Lighthouse, Tangalooma Desert,. Blue Lagoon and the eastern beaches. It used to be a whaling station.
  8. That is why all ships must have a pilot through the GBR. We were lucky our pilot gave us commentary all the way to Darwin.
  9. Last Minute Offer from Viking = From Cairns on 26/10/22 to - Bali - 9 days (2 countries) from $2395 pp Singapore - 13 days (3 countries) From $3595 pp Bangkok - 16 days (4 counties) from $4495 pp Pity I'm already on holidays and my passport has expired!!
  10. Viking is cruising from Cairns on 26/10, via Bali, and Singapore to Bangkok. .
  11. That is OK. I'll peruse the schedule of ships. I've cruised on Azamara of those small ships. I loved that SEAsia cruise as we were able to cruise up river. I'd love to cruise on Viking in Australia. I think Viking is cruising north via Cairns
  12. We cruised inside the GBR on Ocean Princess with beautiful coastal views. I was surprised to see a bigger ship closer to the shore.
  13. Check your prices, Chemist Warehouse isn't always the cheapest.
  14. Smart decision. I have good friends in US and 'I've told them I won't be visiting anymore.
  15. When you mention a small/medium ship then I'll be really excited. The biggest ship I've been on in NZ/Aus waters was Celebrity Century, where I had a big balcony upgrade on day of departure from an inside. That is why I tell people to not be concerned if they haven't got a cabin number from a guarantee booking They have to give you something and mine was a delightful surprise. .
  16. Good news indeed. I didn't expect that on a cruise from US.
  17. Nice did you have a go? One of the best days I spent on the big island of Hawaii was a Senior's competition, where they did the hula sitting on chairs. Afterwards I asked the compere for a recommendation of Hawaiian music to buy - not commercial rubbish sold in shops. He said most of them are here, playing for their grandmothers!
  18. Thought they'd be protected where the wrecks are in bad weather.
  19. All the fish I had in Cairns were first class. Dundees was just different.
