  1. Not the lowest deck. But my post #5 follows along with your thought.
  2. Yes, and you can see what the weather looks like without looking at the ship cams on the TV. The ledge under the portholes in some of the 1As is very deep and we have used it for storage. The Vista Class ships have porthole glass washers that come on in the wee hours that spray wash and rinse the round windows. You can see the spray nozzle at the top of the porthole in this photo from the Panorama.
  3. I stayed in French door 4Ks on the Miracle 4 times and didn't adjust the coffee table once. I always liked the couch those cabins had and used the table often. I sailed Miracle in April and after my 8 Panorama cruises I decided it was likely my last time on Miracle unless she gets a major renovation to brighten her up. I always knew the Bacchus MDR was dark but in April I found the Lido dining room dark as well. The Radiance was nice on the August 29th cruise. It's bright like Panorama and reminds me of a new Sheraton in the atrium and dining rooms.
  4. No, it's not 😉 I like the 1A cabins because they have the couch like the balcony cabins do.
  5. No and the email said it was not available to guests. In February I was checked into my 1A on Panorama and there was a crew member assigned to the cabin! He was sitting on the couch when I entered and the things I had left with the steward were in the cabin with him. Apparently he had just signed on and was in quarantine for newly arriving crew. I was upgraded to a balcony on lido for that goof by Carnival. I was given an apology and remarkable upgrade. The difference here is I was notified nearly two months prior to sailing and given a reason as to why the change was made. I'm good 🙂
  6. I've never had this happen before with Carnival and I've been cruising with them since 1991. I received an email saying my 1A cabin with two port holes was not going to be available for guests that cruise. I was moved to a 7C cove balcony no extra charge. I'll take it 🙂 Thanks, Carnival
  7. I may be of help. The savory and sweet offerings at tea have remained unchanged for us on Carnival since 2011. Two types of finger sandwiches: cucumber and butter and salmon with cream cheese, caper and fennel. The sweets are scones with clotted cream, macaroons, a fruit crumble in a ramekin and two varieties of cake and a seasonal fruit torte.
  8. It's wonky like that. Leave it and move on to the next question and go back later.
  9. You're absolutely correct. I went to tea last Thursday and the no-fee tea box was held underneath the for fee teas by the server. Sly? Perhaps, but Carnival is a business. I did have to chuckle when I saw the image of what appears to be pie on the Hub app for the tea time. I've never seen pies served at tea and wouldn't expect to.
  10. I was there! The server Rogie remembered me from the 8 Panorama cruises I sailed with him this year. Rogie was assigned to the dessert cart last Thursday and did a fine job. This was quite a difference from Panorama where he was working Guy's Burgers and was wearing a shirt with the name Possum stitched on it 🙂 It's good to have tea service again on sea days.
  11. 16 days before sail date except Platinum and Diamond who can select their ARRIVAL to the terminal time 14 days prior top sail date.
  12. Both decks 3 and 4 of the aft Sunset dining room are YTD.
  13. You got that right. Norfolk hasn't even found safe and secure parking in that town. I grew up in Tiredwater (spelled correctly) and glad I left.
  14. I would never book a cabin on that deck. I hope you have a good experience and fun cruise.
  15. The cups of Schaffer Beer served at our seats were .25 cents at Shea for Mets games. The tickets for a double-header went for $6. Good times.
  16. Actually, there were two cruises (one in March one in April) aboard the Panorama when I saw security stationed at the elevator foyer on deck 7 near the entrance to the Sky Zone. Security was not coming and going from the area, they were planted there during Sky Zone hours and then a couple of extra hours after it closed. We knew the kids were ticked because they had to be on their best behavior. I wish Carnival would schedule this type of monitoring whenever the need arises.
  17. Greg, if you haven't already you may want to look at the murals in the restaurant, now called Murals on 54, just off the lobby. That space originally was the Sir Walter Raleigh Room where orchestras played live for radio shows. If they are still there, the classic murals are of Sir Walter Raleigh discovering the new world.
  18. The owner of your hotel is Dick Chiu, who lives in Paris. We had to beg him for simple updates to the guest rooms. USB ports was one of the most frequent requests we made. Most hotels renovate every 7 years, he made us wait 9 - 10 years. This is why the NY Warwick is a 3 star property and not a 4.
  19. At the Warwick look for the ghosts of Cary Grant and Elvis. Cary had it in his contract when he was on the board of the Faberge company that when the company required him to appear in NYC he would only stay in suite 3406 (I think that's correct) at the Warwick. The hotel's website now has classic photos of Mr. Grant and the suite with its large L shaped balcony featured.
