  1. It’s not the price, it’s the fact that I hate to waste good booze. V/R Z and TB
  2. Rachel: I just marathon read your wonderful posts. Thank you for sharing your trip with us and for the great info and pics. Hope the rest of your cruise is just as great. Z and TB
  3. It seems a little less Regent without the wonderful Alaskan king crab legs in Prime 7. Really sad. I have Al’s ost eaten my weight. Z and TB
  4. Excellent result to what could have been a downer port. All you needed was a little Thai Mehkong whiskey. Sawadee kap. Z and TB
  5. Two of my favorite things: food porn and live reports! We wish you and Mudhen a great and fun filled cruise and look forward to your posts. Z and TB
  6. We hope you enjoy your first Regent cruise and look forward to your posts. Have a great cruise! Z and TB
  7. Happy New Years to you and your fellow travelers. Loving your report and the fabulous pics. Z and TB
  8. CWN: thanks so much for the great reporting and the wonderful pics. Real sorry to see this piece of your cruise end. But, we will be following you on your next segment. Can’t wait! Z and TB
  9. I believe this is only enforceable within 12 nautical miles from the coastline. After that, you are in international waters. I see the impact as minimal since most cruise ships head farther out for a plethora of reasons one being casino ops. Z and TB
  10. NANJ: if you remember from your last cruise, Compass Rose has a menu on the left that is offered daily and does not change. On the right side, the selections change daily. In turn, one can make countless combinations. Although I’ve never seen a cruise port centric menu, you can order just about anything you want for dinner by ordering it 24 hours prior. We’ve done this for a Filipino dinner as well as ordering a paella. Hope this info helps. Z and TB PS. I went to college in Charleston. Where are you from in SC?
  11. Are the illy pods the same size as a Keurig pod or are they unique in size? If so, you maybe able to by a Keurig k cup reusable pod in Amazon. BTW , we are very much enjoying your adventure. Z and TB
  12. In fourteen Regent cruises, I have had some spectacular meals and great surprises (I’m easily pleased). But, never have I seen oysters served. Although I am jealous, I am glad to hear it. I just love them and can’t get enough of them. We have enjoyed your interesting insight and wish you a safe trip home. Z and TB
  13. Another thread to follow! I’m all set and ready to enjoy your adventures. Glad to see that you are in a G2 suite since we have one booked on an upcoming cruise, so thanks for the pics. Have a great cruise and a wonderful time. Z and TB
  14. Thanks for the kind words. Your wish is my command. We recently retired and are building a house, so we have been out of pocket for a while. But, we just booked the Splendor for a 13 June 23 sailing from London to Stockholm and will run another corny thread. Back to GP. Z and TB
  15. As always, a day late and a dollar short coming to this party. What a great thread! I have enjoyed every post and love your sense of humor. Looking forward to reading more every day. Enjoy the rest of the cruise. Z and TB
  16. We routinely take the air credit and book international travel using the 2 million miles I accumulated while on active duty. However, American Airlines has increased their FF mile charges to a pint that they are making it difficult to book using miles. Real shame since we always enjoy Med cruises and other exotic places Regent offers. May have to suck it up and use Regent air in the future. GO AIR FORCE! Z and TB
  17. Wishiweretravelling: you were very lucky. Although our Alaska cruise on Regent was mostly rainy and cold, it was one of our best cruises ever thanks to all the wildlife we saw and the great Regent experience. Z and TB
  18. Gremlins are alive and well on newer ships and can take a while to get rid of them. We did the Explorer’s first transatlantic cruise and most of the cabins seemed to experience a whistle effect from the winds hitting the veranda doors. It kept us up at night until the cabin steward taped the glass door shut. Regardless, we had a blast and met many new friends that we still stay in touch with. Even a bad Regent cruise day is better than a day at home. Z and TB
  19. We always look forward to that first meal when boarding. Our tradition is to hit the prime rib like a starving refugee and try out some of the wines before either sneaking into the cabin or waiting until they are available. As I mentioned in a previous thread, we had to cancel three cruises and are undergoing serious cruise withdrawals. Can’t wait to get onboard again in 2024 unless our circumstances change. Thanks for all the info this board provides. Z and TB
  20. I just found this thread and really appreciate your running comments. We recently cancelled three Regent cruises and are undergoing cruise withdrawals. Reading “live” reports are so great and makes us look forward to when we can return to cruising. Thank you for sharing your cruise with us. Z and TB
  21. We wish you a great cruise and a wonderful time. We would have left the Nav all spiffy for you, but we had to cancel our cruise as well as three others. Gotta pay for our retirement home and all the bells and whistles The Boss wants. Looking forward to reading about your adventures. V/R Z and TB
