  1. I took a look..It does seem quite amateurish and very unsteady. I don't think it will garner NEW cruisers if that' s the best they have. Not even Close!
  2. Your hotel looked very nice..Better than the Wyndham which was.obviously old with a face lift..but clean and comfy!
  3. sorry your snorkel stop was cancelled...hope person is okay abx you get an alt snorkel stop.. def not getting much port time
  4. Solstice is a nice ship..but no water slides or such..It will be different than NCL but they may make friends and find things to do..movies etc. They might even enjoy the Kids Club program..let them try it! lucky kids going on a second Alaska cruise!
  5. that's it.. a corner spot..only nearby place to eat. It was an older building but great service, good food..nice variety. Bar on corner side but a full restaurant area, as well.
  6. Agree..Equinox was one of our fav ships. We have enjoyed EDGE ( 2x), BEYOND and especially ASCENT..but after APEX. we not booking E for awhile..no interest in XL.. link to Cruise Critic review of EQ..says it offers laid back luxury..adult vibe: https://www.cruisecritic.com/cruise/celebrity/celebrity-equinox
  7. Best in Show! You should have this one done in oils! (When was it taken? did you add any special filters?) On current topic: We have a booking on APEX but are moving back to S Class after that, if possible. Trying Silhouette then maybe Eclipse. . .Hoping the ambiance will be a bit more subdued than the "go go go" life on E Class....and with less intrusion of sports and games into daytime areas! Less loud and shouty.. We like to read and do puzzles, and enjoy afternoon tea/ coffee.
  8. lucky you flew from Miami. Tampa airport ( west coast fl) has had a large number of cancellations and delays due to bad weather .. .. quite a bit of that recently!
  9. your Dania Beach hotel seems better than the Wyndhan, Dania Beach where we stayed.. It was on the main road.. traffic buzzed by as we walked to the only restaurant nearby (it was excllent) Hotel was not really worth $300/ night we paid in January. Not the greatest neighborhood.. old and seedy. The semi roof top pool was not appealing...so we just bided our time while waiting to check in and then left as soon as we could the next day We skipped the pricey bkfst buffet set out in a bar/ counter..ugh! At least they sold us a bagel with our coffee. Spirit Airline staff stays there so maybe that's why it was not very big on any luxuries or amenities. It was a convenient but winding, drive into the port, but we would not stay there again! We are booked near the Convention Center and 17th St. next! Hope your stay and boarding go well
  10. got it.. so bring your kiddos along to explain..maybe better suites on a jr college campus....
  11. looking forward to another adventure with you and the Queen!
  12. What type of show was it that was not fit for mature cruisers, silly, raunchy, refences to Online gaming apps, insulting teachers/ parents, drug culture,? (hope you or someon e will look up the name or give us a clue!) Rocks photos were great.. We have never gone b/c we never felt we were agile enough to climb on, over and through slippery rocks. We love Tortola..so many choices but will pass on slippery rocks! Never tried grilled Octopus but have had it in soup..yum!
  13. Short cruises can appeal to.locals, but we generally like 7 to 10 days, but have varied We took a 4 day cruise on BEYOND as cruising started to open up post- Covid. We wanted to avoid any need for Covid tests and such, and used up fcc for a suite, so that worked out well. Great cruise, crowded but not a " booze cruise" per se. We were able to drive from W Coast Fl and book a pre cruise hotel so it was ok timewise. We are also taking a 5 day cruise on Silhouette in mid Dec 2024.. .to try Concierge Class after reading a good review. We booked Specialty dining at restaurants we have not been to in yrs, and "easy does it" excursions in KW and Nassau... We do not expect a " booze cruise".or many kiddos..pre Xmas... We have one night at a pre cruise hotel. It is a long unpleasant drive across Fla but have a routine. We will do the drive again in Jan 2025 for Apex, 7 days and looking for a longer itin after that. Ca and Mex not on our list for now!
  14. I am not gluten free but saw GF items at lunch in the buffet on Ascent..and ate the GF desserts..they looked fresher!
  15. a hidden gem! our Holiday Inn hotel is towards the end of 17th st near the Convention Center... so it looks like taxi would just have to curve over to the beach road.
  16. All very nice ..Much nicwr look than most cruise food . We'd love to have dinner at this place but are staying on 14th st Causeway.. and our car will be parked there. Maybe we could get a taxi! ?
  17. Great farewell photos . So nice you show appreciation to all MDR staff!
  18. Do not feel stuck.. You will find sime quiet spaces and may enjoy some of the activities..yoga, am stretch. Spa was expensive but maybe pick one massage or facial for a treat! I wasnt sure but If you ended up with an AQ class room, ..all the thermal suite rms are included..salt rm, sauna/ steam and heated loungers..Usually quiet! And a few free classes..( but they try to sell you more) You can ask for stretch bands and other equip for your rm..ours were pre requested but never were sent(??) We also had mellow/ acoustic music options...mostly in EDEN. (Beyond and Ascent have diff CDs so different vibe for each ship..hope BEYOND more subdued) Another tip..On Ascent, one day for lunch, we bought take out sammies (great bread) and dessert from the Bistro on 5 counter, and were actually served at the smaller tables ..not quite in the restarant area. We picked up drinks / soda at the bar area next door. A less expensive alternative to the bigger meals at the Bistro. .. Of course there's the Solarium Cafe with healthy choices..(eat early), EDEN cafe if open. and the hot dog/ burger place..That one is crowded/with a loud din, but you can carry the food one flight up..if there are no smokers up there.. Has nice tables, great views off the side of the ship! There's an area on opp side one flight up with nice chairs and loungers that overlook the pool but quieter! on ASCENT and BEYOND we found the Sunset Bar area usually crowded but nice sea views and some shade. Lawn area might have movie or music or Pickleball..plink plink! I suggest bringing earplugs, just in case..We left one show very early on..due to intense volume and flashing lights, but others were easier on the senses and well done! Prepare to enjoy! What are your ports?
  19. Looks like another fun custom designed shirt!
  20. the pics and actual Luminae menu items are too fussy for me.. I ordered the plain salmon more than once. The lobster dish was ok..I combined it with a fish.. In BLU. the menu can be a bit boring, but I prefer the simpler food served plain so I can see what I am eating.. Sauce on the side is fine! I skip desserts and limit bread/ carbs and drinks. salad for lunch most days. biggest downfall is 1/2 a full size bagel at bkfst.. with my lox! I usually stay the same weight and fairly close in range with my blood sugar..need to walk and work out..! Boring but necessary!
