  1. We are booked in an SV on APEX.. (Glad we booked something other than Deck 7 over EDEN) We are booked on Deck 10..middle..Has anyone had noise or soot issues on that level?
  2. Glad to hear it was great cruise from a trusted CC Regular. How was the food in general? We never use the app as we heard it is not always reliable..and our devices are too old!
  3. on EDGE..they kept the drapes closed all the time..no sea views, but there was a table seating area through a door in BLU. It faced the life boats and other ugly main equpiment . . On Beyond, we were there for dinner and it had much better views.
  4. On Ascent, seems at this point it is an unused area off of BLU??? No.one has eaten there? Can the area be accessed another way than through BLU,? I vaguely recall it could be accessed on EDGE by anyone, if folks just wanted to sit there with no service? Negative is that these outdoor seats were originally counted as BLU seating for capacity counts...but are illusory??? And it is part of the pr/ ads for ASCENT!
  5. We had an SV middle on EDGE. only heard music / bass a few nights... in the hall area near bthrm..it did not go late!
  6. To OP Thanks for a very informative review! It has heightened our enthusiasm for ASCENT. We will board ASCENT 1/28.. AQ Class with BLU and Thermal Suite. Have booked EDEN, FINE CUT and ROOFTOP GRILL..Also will go to shows in theater EDEN and activities in the Club. We have managed with the INF Veranda.. Sunroom..not a fav but gives more space in the cabin! Suggest you try an SV with the 4 mdrs. They are very nice..larger cabin plus real outdoor balc. large..great aft views!
  7. glad it resolved..I am prone to blephartis....an eyelid condition so I travel with various remedies and usually wash my lids with baby shampoo.. Inside the eye..more serious!
  8. Mine dentist also checks the tongue and areas inside the mouth .. My hygienist offers a water pik type cleaning which is much less discomfort than the usual process..my husb prefers that but I like the traditional way! the spa has free give aways of mini teeth whiteners but does not venture into any treatments afaik...only acupunture which I would not do on a ship..
  9. for diabetics and others, updates on health and Rx questions are important.. at the dr or dentist... first ques my hygienist and dentist ask at my appts are .."have there been any changes" "are you taking aspirin or blood thinners?" Deciding to spa or not is a pers decision...not cancelling!
  10. Over the years people have come to Celebrity from other cruise lines because what it offered overall was better than what other lines were doing. Invariably some then try to change it into something else (Norwegian, Carnival, Royal..now Virgin) They have succeeded with some dress code downgrades, alc packages that changed the demographics & now "no kids?? " What's next, tatoo studio? My thoughts are let's enjoy it as it is & hope for improvements. Those who want to re create it can go elsewhere if not what is desired!
  11. Nice detailed review.. No reason we would try it. We do not mind well supervised childen/ teens on X.. we just avoid peak times . Some kids and teens are cool to chat with... insight into next gen!
  12. what if a massage does something to aggravate your tinnitus, pinched nerve etc? some disclosure is for your safety and protection! and probably req by their ins carrier.. surprised some "learned counselors" missed that possibiliy.. anyhow.. happy sailing to all
  13. As mentioned we had a SS . with Butler (very intrusive lady), Luminae and Retreat area. We paid a chunk of it with FCC from cancelled covid time cruises so we gave it a try! Retreat Life had plusses and minusses, but for us it would not be worth the fare or playing the move up game, esp with changes..The re named room attendants are now stretched and seems Luminae has not changed its menu much from what we experienced. .Suite class is now more crowded due to the move up game.. so we are headed back to AQ class, (Ascent,), an SV with 4 mdrs, ( Apex) and trying Concierge Class too.( Silho) if OP sticks with the cruise...no need to bid up..and maybe should stop reading neg posts!
  14. I think some are overthinking this disclosure form.. .For some services, knowledge of skin conditions like fungus, acne or product allergies would be relevant..for others, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart conditions or recent surgery in certain areas might be relevant. Some services are not rec for those with specific "health issues". I just fill out what relates to why I am there and don't go into detail unless needed.. Have not had issues with the forms and no follow up solicitations. I plan to enjoy my usual cruise massage, facial and Kerastase salon visit!
  15. This is the first time I have heard of any reservations taken for BLU for anyone....Is this new? It has always been " subject to availability" for suite guests... and due to popularity not always available...On BEYOND when we were in a suite we just showed up (early) and were given a table. At this point..Luminae should have been in business long enough that suite guests would not need BLU! But has not been the case! BLU is a small venue that can be easily overwhelmed at certain times...Perhaps only upper level suites should have access!
  16. Looks like the staggered times are helping efficiency. Hope so. Wonder what the last time slot is? Hope Concierge Class guests can make it to the lunch on time.
  17. topic sentence says it all..if OP is not looking forward to it..cancel and book something else that is preferred..or comfy! You should not let Online posts ( by complainers vs reviewers) color your thoughts.. BEYOND is a great ship..Concierge Class will offer nice perks, and we had no issues with the sunroom style veranda. We enjoyed the included 4 mdrs, EDEN , great music and shows! Only possible neg is getting a creaky cabin.
  18. Has been over many yrs of cruising.,diff ports, diff terminals diff cruise lines. Cunard once had a bad computer failure..kept us outside in Brooklyn in July for several hrs,. Check in was done manually.... A storm delayed return of the ship we were to board...in NJ..We were in the orig terminal for hrs..not enough seats..or bathrooms,,They finally brought in catered food.. .Other snafus, glitches along the way... When access is ready, they let folks in,,. Most times you luck out.. but sometimes not.. Folks who have airlines arriving early with no place to go, I can understand, but others should wait their turn, and not create clogs.
  19. The ship has to be cleared..before the next group can actually start boarding. We have waited outside in baking sunshine and pouring rain...If they don't let you in, come prepared. Not everyone can be first!
  20. i just provide the basics but essential info... hopefully no one is hacking into tbe spa records... more afraid of credit card info going astray..
  21. Hi Charla and her loyal followers. HOPE YOU HAVE A HAPPY & HEALTHY NEW YR! ( Condolences to those who lost dear friends and loved ones in 2023 ) Loved the cruise themed XMAS tree! Sal and I are Counting down to my birthday cruise (another big one), on ASCENT.. I will post a bit but not a live from review. After trying a SS on BEYOND pre- Butlergate, and enjoying a "Creak Free" suite, we are going back to Aq Class...That's our favorite spot.. We like BLU and Thermal suite..and have bookings in Fine Cut Rooftop and Eden. Plus lots of spa for me! After that we are going back to S Class, Prime Concierge on Silhouette, and then an SV on APEX. No plans past those cruises and undecided about XL.. Hope to read some great reviews in 2024!
  22. KeyLimeKayak thanks for all the photos..very nice shots! looks quite a bit like EDGE and BEYOND...but we'll seek out the new or improved areas .. Outdoor dining area at BLU looks nice port a port day bkfst.. Glad you enjoyed your cruise!
  23. looks that way..I enjoy hearing from the most experienced X cruisers who are still with X, and enjoy posts showing them being recognized..We made E + ages ago, but have no hope (or aspiration) to make Zenith. Also seems that Cruise Critic is not that involved with onbd events anymore... We have a nice roll call going for our next cruise, so our Sailaway should be fun!
  24. so have most ZENITHS moved off of CC in favor of f b ?
