  1. I've flown air through Princess' EZ Air program twice, once to Europe and once to Florida. It is so easy to pick out the exact flights you want, nonstop or connecting, day you want to arrive and depart. If for some reason your flight changes and the time is not good, you can change it to a more convenient time. If the price goes down you can cancel and rebook. All up to 45 days before flight and you don't even have to pay until final payment. Unfortunately NCL does not offer this so would not take a chance and book my air with them.
  2. On my upcoming Norway cruise I noticed the taxes and port charges were $8 less pp than when I booked. I asked my TA about it and she said you have to pay the amount it stated at booking. A week later when I got my invoice for final payment the taxes and port charges were at the current rate, so $16 less total.
  3. I'm booked for the Carnival Venezia 12 day western carib out of NYC for February 2024. This is the first time I ever saw a western carib out of NYC so booked it when it first came out. I think it's just about full.
  4. I am so happy I booked the Norway cruise for this June with a b2b Western Europe cruise. As it is only my second Carnival cruise it wasn't cheap but a lot cheaper than other cruise lines.
  5. On a Princess cruise last November during a bus tour we were dropped off at the beach for 45 minutes and not one plane came by overhead.
  6. OP here. I didn't want to take a chance in splitting up the gift cards so I wound up paying for my two cruises all with gift cards and the balances under $100 each with a credit card that was running a special for booking travel.
  7. I was on the Feb. 1st Getaway cruise to Bermuda, which turned out to be a cruise to nowhere. We had almost 4600 people aboard and it wasn't even a holiday sailing. With so many people inside on cold days and all lounges at the pool taken on warmer days, it was quite hard finding somewhere quiet to sit and relax. We usually like to use the hot tubs a few times but could never get in one being there were so many in it at one time. The outside chairs on deck 8 were always full too. We did the Breakaway in September, 2021 and The Joy in September, 2022 and it was not this crowded so I never realized that there were so few places to sit on this type of ship so I will never book this type again. We got a measly 20% toward a future cruise for missing Bermuda entirely for two days but I read on fb that another cruise that missed only one port got a 30% FCC. That is not very fair.
  8. The transfer is $110pp. We decided to book the 6 30am bus just to be safe.
  9. Please disregard above post. I was talking about Brooklyn, not Manhattan.
  10. In Nov. We took an Uber to Brooklyn for a Princess cruise from E. Brunswick NJ. The driver was not happy because he says he is not allowed to pick up another fare in NY. So has to come back to NJ empty. He also says he does not know where his passengers are going until he gets there. It was a reasonable $75. We will try to do this again in October but will probably have to Uber into NYC and take a train or bus back home.
  11. Are you sure? I thought all Meraviglia cruises sail out of Red Hook Brooklyn.
  12. I thought it was very nice of you to invite anyone else on this cruise to chime in with their experiences. I thought it was very rude for one reader to chastise someone else who was not the OP for giving info without the OP's permission. They were very insulted and did not post again. Anyway, following and looking forward to more of your review.
  13. My United flight was cancelled and they put me on an earlier one that leaves Heathrow at 1pm. There are two Carnival shuttle buses, one leaving at 6:30am and one leaving at 7:30am. If I take the latter one will I be at the airport on time or should I go with the earlier one? Do the buses leave on time? This will be on a Sunday morning, June 18th.
  14. I agree with you. I'm on this cruise too and was very worried about this sailing happening. It is now back on the website and on cruise timetables (but not cruisemapper). I sent in my final payment last week and now researching excursions.
  15. We have been patiently waiting for the excursions to post for our June Norway cruise. They finally came out today and I'm stunned by the prices. Some are triple of what you could book directly. Only I heard that in Norway the cruise ships buy all the local excursions and you may not be able to diy. I have a $600 OBC and it might buy me just two excursions.
  16. We were in San Juan in November on the Enchanted Princess. We decided to walk to the other fort, San Cristobal because it looked so close on a map. No one mentioned it was uphill all the way and was exhausted when we got there. We, too, had the senior federal park passes and they let us in with no other ID to show them.
  17. I like the Reuben sandwich at O'Sheehans. On the Joy in September they put on at least 3" of corned beef which made it taste like it came out of a Jewish deli. Sadly on the Getaway two weeks ago the corned beef barely covered the rye bread. We also asked to have the chicken wings baked twice as per other's suggestions but they still came out soggy.
  18. I have a port balcony near the aft on deck 6 booked for next year. I just read on fb that the crew smoking area is on deck 5 in that area and all the decks there smell from smoke. Is this true?
  19. Not sure about Barcelona but Spain Day Tours requires a minimum of 14 to 16 people in other cities.
  20. We also had an almost non existent roll call here on cc for our Feb 1st Getaway cruise but there was an active one on that other website. They actually pulled off having a meet and greet with about 30 people in the Tropicana room and about 6 officers and the cruise director Alvin attended. They also had a nice slot pull with about 25 of us. Only lost $2.
  21. Some threads on FB said the parking price is going up from $30/day to $45/day. I haven't seen it anywhere else. Is it true?
  22. We usually park at Meyer's Parking, part of On-Air Parking on West. 43rd St. If you book at least 4 months in advance it is around $10/day. DH lets me and luggage off at pier, parks, then walks back to pier around 15 minutes. When returning from a cruise, we take elevator up to parking area and I wait with luggage while he walks back to get the car and then picks me up. There are a few chairs there so I can sit while waiting. Saves a lot of money. https://www.onairparking.com/
  23. Originally I was going to book this cruise but then I realized it was a President's Day cruise and there would be lots of kids so I wound up taking the Feb. 1st 5 day cruise to nowhere (suppose to be Bermuda). We got a $200 OBC and 20% off our next cruise. Because we got such a great deal on our BB Balcony and had a FCC from a previous cruise, this came out to a measly $93 each for my DH & myself. Looking forward to following your report.
