Looking forward to hearing about the ports. We are going to Norway on another cruise line in June.

I need to use one of those immersers (sp?) that go into a cup to boil water for a medical/dental problem. Do I have to get permission from someone at Carnival before I cruise or just explain if they catch it while boarding?

We are also on 10/25 Miraviglia. We live in East Brunswick. Uber gave us a quote of $75 each way. Just hope we can get one getting off the ship on 11/5.

Has anyone been able to book a room there in 2024? Their website seems only to go up to December, 2023 and January, February, March and April all have XXXX. Someone on the other social media site said to call them so I did. I asked if it was too early to book April, 2024 and was told no but all the dates I asked her about were "unavailable". So does this mean all the rooms are booked up, too early or just a computer glitch?

I tried to pay for internet with my AAA Visa card. Would not accept it. Switched to my husband's account. Still not accepted. Switched from Firefox to Chrome. NG. Restarted computer and tried again several times. Still no go. So then tried a travel Mastercard (only gives 1% instead of 3%). Took it on first try. I called the number on back of the Visa card and they said there was nothing wrong with it. Go figure.

So if we return the car after they close is there any transportation back to the cruise ship or are we on our own?

In 2022 our 9 day cruise stopped in Stavenger. This year it is stopping in Haugesund instead. Similar area but there are so many more options of things to do in Stavenger than Haugesund. Wonder if this is due to enviromental changes or the town is limiting number of ships.

I am booked this year for the fjords on Carnival. There are no fjord cruises on Carnival for next year. The Norwegian people are trying to stop the cruise ships from stopping in their villages.

I will be going on my second Carnival cruise in a few weeks. Did not play in the casino the first cruise. Plan to play now. Do you have to get a player's card or do you use the sign and sail card?

So. glad you enjoyed Funchal. When we were booked on the 2022 Epic TA we were in a group that was going to do the Tobbogan (sp?) run through the town. It looked like so much fun. We will be in Porto, Portugal in June and planning to take the yellow hoho bus too. I think they are run by the same company. I wanted to book them in advance through Viator, which in turn I book through AA Aadvantage so I do not lose my miles which are expiring. Unfortunately it got very bad reviews. People said most of the translators did not work and if you got off anywhere downtown it took a long time to wait for a bus back to the pier. Did you find this true on the bus you took?

Got the offer in October and used it. No offer now. Also had an offer for Celebrity that expired March 31st. Would have loved to use that one ($350 off $1000) but didn't want to give them that much for a non refundable fare.

There were so many negative reports here and on the other social media page about MSC and the Meraviglia that I also questioned my booking in October. Now after Jamie's blog I feel confident we will have a great cruise. My only worry now is getting to and back from the port from here in East Brunswick which is in central NJ. Some Ubers won't go out of state and parking for 11 days is much too expensive.

We did this excursion in September, 2019. We originally had a 4pm flight from LHR and changed our flight to 6pm as they said only after 4pm.. So after a nice visit to Stonehenge we were suppose to go to Windsor Castle but some others on our bus still had a 4pm flight and made the driver miss Windsor so that they would be at the airport early. We were very upset. We got to LHR around 2:15pm. We were very lucky and there were two open seats left on the 4pm flight so we were able to change but the seats weren't as good as our original seats.

I am posting this question on this and the Spain forum. According to reviews on Viator, the yellow Hoho buses got terrible reviews. Many said the translation earphones were not working and many had to wait sometimes two hours to get back on the bus if they got off downtown. Besides the ship excursions which are very expensive, this seems to be the easiest way to get from the port Lexios to downtown Porto. I know you can take the 500 bus but it seems like a far walk to the bus stop. Is there a public shuttle from the port to downtown? Anyone have experience with the hoho bus or the 500 bus?

About the cabanas, the description says for six but the picture only shows two lounge chairs. If three couples share a cabana is there enough lounges and seating inside for all?

I had a refundable fare for a cruise that I had to change from Oct. 2022 to May 2023 so I was able to carry over all my perks. Problem was the new cruise went down in price after final payment and I was not eligible to get the new price.

What happened to it? Someone posted that it was suppose to start today for 48 hours.

Hi Henry. Just saw this thread and hope you are having a great time. We were booked last year for the Epic TA, which left much earlier in April. The 2nd I believe. But had to cancel right before final payment for multiple reasons. I followed the roll call for a while and I think they missed Bermuda and one of the Azore islands. You seem to be having better luck. Hope to do a TA one of these days.

Jamie, can you ask Ted(Escargot) if he is still on the October 25th cruise. He started a meet and greet on the rollcall but hasn't posted anything since January.

I think it might be a little different between NY and NJ. Our driver said by law he is not allowed to pick up another passenger in NY so he loses out on a return trip

I don't think that is true. In November we went to Brooklyn for a 1 way cruise on Princess. When we told the driver where we were going he said if he knew in advance he would not have accepted it. But it was a beautiful Saturday morning with no traffic so he did not complain too much. This time our Miraviglia cruise returns the same day as the NY Marathon so we are a little worried.

How long did you wait for the Lyft? Did you have to tell the driver where you were going before you got in the car? I ask because I need to return to NJ and some drivers may refuse.

What is the best place to rent a car in Port Canaveral? We will be on the MSC Miraviglia which stops there from 1pm to 8pm in October. Are there shuttles to the rental car places or do you have to Uber/Lyft?

I am so underwhelmed with their excursions. We will be first time cruisers on MSC in October. We will be sailing 11 nights and especially disallusioned with Port Canaveral. We do not arrive until 1pm so how do they offer an excursion to the Kennedy Space Center that closes at 5pm? This does not seem like enough time. Also they are not offering any airboat excursions. I checked most of the private ones and they are mostly an hour away in Kissammee. I did find one that is 1/2 hour away in Christmas, Fla. How much would an Uber ride be? In Cozumel and Costa Maya they are offering mostly beach or ruins excursions. We did the ruins once on a previous trip so would like to do something else. And we are doing the beach at Ocean Cay. Is there anything private to do that doesn't include getting on a bus for 1-1/2 to 2 hours each way? I know everyone complains about Nassau and many stay on the ship. The only other time we were there we took an island bus tour which was a waste.
