Testing could be changing again as of the 14th

We need to move past plan A and B, and move on to plan N. Plan N no testing. Waste of energy resources and it is not making us safer in the real world. It may make us feel good, but is as effective as a cloth mask which is equally pointless.- 299 replies

Jimbo, by this logic, we should all test each and everytime we leave our homes. We wouldnβt want to infect the other patrons and staff at Waffle House either. Donβt ever get a haircut without a test. Think of the poor barber. I, personally test each morning before I leave for work and each evening when I return home. That way, I am protecting everyone I meet. I feel so much better about myself now.π jc- 299 replies

Where to find loyalty gift choices
xpcdoojk replied to John Reid's topic in Royal Caribbean International
LB, is there an email you can change your request to? We are currently D+, we get the bottle of SB, which never gets drank, some beer and bottles of water and some strawberries. Would upgrade to sparkling wine. But the thought of calling and wasting even 15 minutes makes me sad. π jc -
How was your cruise experience post pandemic?
xpcdoojk replied to ARI421's topic in Royal Caribbean International
When was the cruise that included Columbia? We went in May and were allwowed -
We are flying in and out of PSP in November to go to our neighbors daughters wedding in San Diego, she is a dentist in the Navy marrying a helicopter pilot officer. We are planning on doing some hiking the week we are there, and of course spend a night in PS so we can soak it in. Love visiting downtown and the Shag store. Trying to decide to stay in the Airstream park in Joshua tree or not. We were supposed to be in Palm Springs last January, but covid killed that conference, and the one the previous fall in La Costa.

I think you will have a good time. We did a NE / Canada cruise in 2016 on the Anthem and it was awesome. Most days it was me and the crew on the FlowRider.π I really think when the pressure of kids and family groups are not on the ships, things tend to go back to a happy place. I am a foodie, and while I have issues with some things I am served, nothing I am served has truly been awful, and if it is the staff fall all over themselves to bring me something else to make me happy. Actually, had more food issues on the Allure than the Adventure. I think the Adventure is way shorter staffed than the newer bigger ships. Because we sailed at a low occupancy time, our cruise was very good. I have forgotten the exact numbers but something like 1800 on board and less than 50 under the age of 18. IE sweet spot. jc

We were on the 13 night repositioning cruise before it went to NY/NJ. I found the food to be pretty good. The internet worked well enough I could stream NHL playoffs and Formula Race. We did the 5 night dining package, and 3 nights at Giovannis and 2 nights at Chops is way too much of both. π I avoid summer cruises like the plague so, who knows what happens when 1000s of New Yorkers with kids get on a ship.π jc

Why I am so stressed about testing!

Smart⦠making sure it not the wife who misses the cruise. -
What if the people infected are the crew, but are asymptomatic? The 4 day cruise infected them, they are now in day 5, and they infect the 45 people they serve dinner to? We talk here as if only the people going on the cruise are Covid carriers. Reality is, passengers are 95% vaccinated and probably boosted, crew is vaccinated. This entire discussion is just our personal bias being shared. Reality is it is an endemic virus that is going to mutate (the vaccines wonβt work) and it is getting less deadly (thank the lord) and no matter what we do, mask, get shots, take vitamins, it is going to continue to infect us and our loved ones. We need to put on our big boy and girl panties and get on with life. JMHO and YMMV jc

One of my first stops after boarding is the sports desk by the FlowRider to fill out the waiver. I have never tried to do it on the TV. jc

Like the costumes, like memories. Makes me cry, just like Mama Mia. Grease makes me sigh, and wonder why I am different than the people who like that corny production. JC
