  1. Friends currently on board sent this video of the Symphony’s holiday decorations. They say they are having a fabulous time. Unfortunately I can’t get the video to upload.
  2. My TA got me a price quote on the solo offer. “April 25 2024 single guest room with past guest and port taxes is $ 10160, or under an upgrade offer they can offer Aquamarine is $ 14500 with taxes and past guest savings.”
  3. There is this solo offer: https://www.crystalcruises.com/offer/us-solo-supplement-offer-2023-12-31
  4. A friend advises: “My TA checked and suite upgrade offer only for double occupancy staterooms--alas ”
  5. I agree too. Makes me think I shouldn’t book as soon as itineraries are released. Also doesn’t look like it applies to solos.
  6. If you are already looking at a voyage, select the far right category, “ship overview“, then scroll down.
  7. Here’s a video on the Symphony’s inaugural.
  8. Recent Symphony sailing: The Mozart tea is back, now known as the Viennese tea without the costumes. We also had chocolate teatime. There were also several new themed luncheon buffets in MP including Filipino, Indonesian and churrascaria.
  9. Here on the Symphony, 15 day sailing with 8 sea days, quite dressy.
  10. Vicki van Tassel is the new CD on the Symphony. She took over last evening when Russ went on vacation. I will try to upload her bio from Reflections when available. Welcome aboard Vicki.
  11. I expect I’m in the video if it is of the current cruise. The DJ did a one hour pre-dinner set in the Starlite a couple of nights ago. There will be more such sets on upcoming sea days.
  12. I’ve been dancing on Crystal for 20 years, primarily on Symphony. Historically the bulk of the dancing on Symphony has been in the Starlite, nice sized wooden floor, deck 6, midship. Never in my experience was dancing in the Galaxy Lounge. In fact, the description ivyleaguegent gave in post #1 is of the Starlite, not the Galaxy. Currently the bulk of the dancing is in the Palm Court. On Symphony the floor is big enough for waltz, foxtrot etc. What I don’t like about it is the extra movement caused by the location, the vast panoramic windows on occasion resulting in blinding sunsets, and a toasty room. The floor is not wood and is prone to stickiness in heat and humidity. (It was improved in the dry dock.) It is also isolated feeling. Us dancers were used to people strolling by the Starlite and watching us dance. it made us feel part of the community. The duo is doing a good job. The backing machine gives a solid beat without overwhelming the piano and their voices. Hopefully dancing will return to the Starlite when bookings support the additional musicians required.
  13. I’m currently on board the Symphony. We have the standard 4 Ambassador Hosts (3 previously with OC and 1 new) plus the one couple dance team. There is dancing every evening and complimentary dance classes on sea days. Private lessons continue to be available for a fee.

A friend on board now says the a/c has been fixed and its positively chilly to her.
  17. There is an MRT stop within walking distance of both cruise terminals.
  18. Unfortunately, Moecker still has the same two errors re my claims that I reported to them several times months ago (Alaska cruise refund applied by them to a Miami cruise etc). Any contact suggestions of an actual person who can focus on this?
