  1. I would definitely book a noon flight at FLL.
  2. To say I was disappointed when they brought back random testing is putting it mildly. Annoyed and frustrated are words which come to mind. lol
  3. I am a Canadian living in the US. I cross frequently for business and family. I’ve thrown out all the things they’ve given to me but I did take a pic of a portion of one side of the instructions. The first time I called about erroneous emails they told me to ignore them. So I do. 😂
  4. Ditto to @0106. The items they were holding appeared in our cabin the night before disembarkation.
  5. When they were doing their individual displays (amazing suicide drops, etc) they got so close I could see the pilots. This one was cool. Apologies for the photography. 196A501C-34D4-421B-A221-8EE38F4742F8.MOV
  6. I use the NEXUS lane and have been given a test kit 3 times.
  7. In my case they gave me the test kit, with instructions, and you test within 24 hours of arrival. There is no appointment. You just log into the site per the instructions and wait for someone to come online to proctor. The officer absolutely knows you have been selected because they initiate it.
  8. We really like the Toronto Airport Marriott. After I’ve reserved I keep checking back regularly because the prices fluctuate. It has a complimentary airport shuttle and it’s right next to the airport.
  9. I had to share this video. We were treated to an amazing display by the Swiss Air Force Aerobatic Team while in Lucerne. This is only a small portion of their performance. It was fantastic. 7CB8720C-E698-41F1-A57F-4C5F472C1A6A.MOV
  10. Lucerne is beautiful. We took the train from ZRH to Lucerne and walked to our hotel (Marriott) from the station. Stayed a few nights then took the train to Lake Como. If the OP can swing it, Lucerne is a great suggestion.
  11. The train from ZRH is super easy to use. It is in the lower level of the airport; just follow the signs. There are ticket kiosks on the level above the trains but we bought ours from the train station office where they were super helpful with lots of information. You can also download their app. Link to Swiss Train Information
  12. Yes, ordering from the MDR menu (viewed on your smart TV) is available during main dining room hours of operation. There is no additional charge but a tip upon delivery is always appreciated.
  13. Oh my goodness. You are flying in on the day of the cruise compounded by the current airport, airline, and baggage situation. I broke out into a sweat just thinking about that. 😰 Go straight to the port and check in.
  14. We have had our embarkation port changed at the last minute also. We were told to plan accordingly, with no compensation or offer of assistance, so you lucked out there. Time and money took care of getting to the new port. Passengers disembarking were given internet access in order to “plan accordingly” also. We looked at it as a new adventure and didn’t blame HAL because they had to roll with the punches, just as we did.
  15. I have only ever been implored for a 10 on a survey once. Ironically, it was by the two room stewards I was least likely to give a good score to, let alone a 10. All other crew have let their actions speak for their work ethic. Those are the ones I gave an honorable mention and a high score to.
  16. Good choice. I was recently on a Princess cruise and there was no forward viewing area and no wraparound prom. The Eurodam has both. Have a great cruise!
  17. LHR is currently a nightmare. We needed the full 4 hours we allotted to get to our gate. On top of that, there was road construction all around the airport. We drove around and around before finally making it in. SO true. 😂
  18. Thank you for the thread, pictures, and commentary. Apparently you are of the lucky few who got to sail with Seth. I’m guessing he made no mention of his departure while you were with him. Sorry to hear you have COVID. I hope you are feeling well soon.
  19. Assuming they’d already run through the process with the portion of their group who made it onto the flight, it does point to the app as being the problem. Was it a problem with the way one of the adults was processing his/her group of kids? Would love to know but I doubt we will. Since they got it resolved in time to watch their flight take off, it seems the app may not be as intuitive as it should be. I’m guessing they didn’t start earlier in the process with the 72 hours they had to work out the kinks.
  20. Yes. And, also, you won’t pay the price that you see advertised like you do in the UK because… taxes. Don’t try and figure it out; it’s not worth the aggravation. But Here’s a link if want to be annoyed. Sorry. 🤷‍♀️ Again.
  21. Pre-Covid (because I can’t recall if this still happened when I was on my December HAL cruise): Your room will be ready upon embarkation. You can order room service breakfast on day of disembarkation. You can remain in your cabin until your disembarkation # is called. Of course, this has varied wildly since the restart, depending on positive cases & staff availability, but I am hoping it remains once things return to the new normal.
  22. Well, if we’re going to be technical, it’s correct but not complete. Yes, ferries are included in the water portion of the entry guidelines. At that point in the conversation, however, I don’t think either of us could have dealt with muddier waters. 😂
  23. Ohhhh. We should probably explain that to the OP. @vivienne-j, since Canada no longer has pennies, your purchase will be rounded up or down to the closest 5 cents/nickel. So, for example, if it rings up as $5.13, you will be required to pay $5.15, even if they tell you it is $5.13. Sorry. 🤷‍♀️
  24. Thank you, and I understand the confusion. You are a gem. 😊 The Government of Canada bears the blame. There is absolutely no way that most of those who aren’t boaters would realize the distinction. I am honestly shocked that I was able to bring clarity! I thought that was a losing battle for sure. 😂
