  1. This is great information for those wanting to cruise Alaska that have this situation. This question seems to be asked often and you have phrased it well.
  2. We sailed on the Jewel in July 2022 and Serenade September & October 2022. No real complaints as they were both in great condition. Go for the itinerary, either ship will be fine.
  3. We've also cruised Alaska a few times (5) and where we decide to view the glaciers can vary. Actually loved one of our true aft cabins on RCI...enjoying the glacier in my PJ's wrapped up in a blanket and sipping hot chocolate....NICE !!!
  4. In addition to the above...there will be a fee from $200-250 (cleaning) charged, and if the policy offense continues it can be cause for removal from the ship at the next port.
  5. OP...you didn't mention the ice show...We sailed on Navigator in January 2022 & 2023 and found the iSkate Reach For The Stars one of the best. We're booked again for Feb 2025 (an interesting story about how I booked that one so early) officially that schedule should be opening soon.
  6. I've cruised the Mexican Riviera onboard RCI for years and have been on Navigator a couple of times since RCI came back to our coast and last month was the first time I've seen this Cruise Compass warning. I think it's very doubtful you'll be getting a bill and I'm sure RCI did whatever they could with limitations to help accommodate you. Best wishes to all of you and do come back and sail Navigator again.
  7. So sorry for your loss and you managed well an unthinkable situation. Just a quick question...We were on Navigator last month and noticed in the Cruise Compass a warning that basically says that each port is under the control of local authorities. Fines up to $7500 can be imposed on guests failing to return onboard on time in Mexico ports of call. Was this said to you at all?
  8. This location used to be Thrifty/Dollar...It is indeed the closest. The OP should check out using Budget prices for this location using Costco.
  9. OP if you're a Costco member check out their rates online for your rental. We always get the best price using them. I also agree take a taxi to FLL and rent there.
  10. We were supposed to be on next months Navigator cruise. That cruise was chartered and we were price protected and so we sailed last month. No big deal to us as it's our home port but we were given notice of this in early May 2022. So sorry for those that have this happen and have to make alternate plans.
  11. How was the WJ on this ship? We'll be on Liberty in October for her Canada NE itinerary out of Cape Liberty. Haven't been on LOS in a long time.
  12. The OP can just check pricing on the RCI website. The OP should cancel the bid and place a new bid with a valid card.
  13. Just because your ship arrives at 8:00 am doesn't mean you'll be able to disembark then. Personally this is cutting it a bit close but it's your decision.
  14. RCI when staying in a Grand Suite category and above, you can order all meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) or even just selected items from the dining room menu during their open hours. We often order breakfast and also late night dessert and tea service. This is one of our favorite perks.
  15. You would also have to pay the increased gratuity if you originally booked a category under a JS.
  16. Your cabin steward will go over this procedure with you and help move your things from one cabin to the next. You do not leave your luggage out the night before.Usually you pack up certain things and leave your hangup clothes on the hangers. I would certainly move any valuables my self. This kinda move is done often and they make it as easy on you as possible. Enjoy your B2B our favorite thing to do but we have always kept the same cabin.
  17. This is terribly RUDE whether it's on a balcony or public space. Report it !!!!
  18. In addition to the info above, there is usually golf cart transportation available at least there has been during our trips there and as recently as last March.
  19. Oh that old tiny little one by a bar. We don't bother with that one any longer...I assumed it was the larger area past the Malecon. Regardless they'll take USD as you know.
  20. Really ? We didn't see this as an option as no extension was listed for them. The SL concierge was easier to get in touch with as he had better hours.
  21. We booked the Icon for May 2024 when it opened. Extended family that includes 4 adults & four kids. We got two Surfside Family suites next to each other. Got the KSF so pricing wasn't too bad. Glad we booked when we did.
  22. If you mean the flea market area down past the Malecon...yes they take USD. We were just there 2 weeks ago.
  23. We were in port last end of April onboard Harmony with four ships and we had no trouble taking a round trip taxi to Maho. So you just never know, but shouldn't be dissuaded.
  24. I was flying through the booking...no problem. Then after I booked I went back a few times just checking on it and it was still up.. Love those late nights here on the west coast. Have gotten some of my best deals then.
