  1. I did the Mekong in late October into November 2017. I found the temperatures comfortable in Hanoi at the beginning of the trip, but as we moved south it got hotter, and Ho Chi Minh City was very hot at the end.
  2. That is only 1 hour 40 minutes which I would consider very tight for an international flight.
  3. Would that be an on-demand ferry, as opposed to one with a fixed schedule?
  4. Because Viking ships are virtually identical, the entries will all line up and it is a simple walk through one boat to another. If they rafted with another company the passengers may have to go up to the sundeck and over to get between boats.
  5. Technically, and ETA is NOT a visa. It is a travel authorization.
  6. Note when you are looking for it, it is Air Canada, not Canada Air.
  7. I’m not sure if I agree with that. With a French balcony your room might be right up against another French balcony cabin with no space between. At least a real balcony has a bit of air between you.
  8. Most European hotels don’t provide washcloths; I believe Europeans don’t consider them hygienic.
  9. @CPT Trips thanks for the clip. It was fun. I’m sure with a bit more work they could have come up with many more languages spoken by Canadians, but they would have had to go to verses that no one knows. I think there are some. Since I no longer work I’m less aware of what happens with holidays. Since Canada Day is on a Saturday, it could be celebrated either on Friday or Monday. I think most closures here will be Monday July 3. So, for us just a 3-day weekend. For me in particular, a constant weekend.
  10. And I hope will also do so in 2024 when I will be arriving on Silver Dawn. I think only smaller ships can do turnarounds because Langelinie probably can't handle masses of luggage for a large ship turnaround.
  11. It's also a lot of people to be (potentially) cycling at once. It seems to travel more like a river cruise, i.e. cruise overnight to get you to somewhere new to cycle, rather than a bike a barge where you are docked overnight since the very small crew also needs to sleep.
  12. That wasn't true in 2019 when I was supposed to board the Aegean Odyssey in Copenhagen, at Langelinie. I was looking forward to just walking from Hotel Bethel in Nyhavn. (Unfortunately the cruise was cancelled, and instead I flew from Copenhagen to Edinburgh to continue my vacation.)
  13. 35cm?? That is over a foot of rain in 20 minutes! Are you sure you don’t mean 35mm?
  14. That's what it looks like. I wonder how low it needs to be to tell you "low battery". Anyway, if you have some spare batteries with you, you can replace them if necessary on the trip.
  15. The limit for contactless cards in Canada was CDN$100 pre-pandemic, now it is CDN$250. I almost forget my PIN because I never have to use it. (I'm not sure if I have ever made 3 transactions within a limited period of time; there might be some anti-fraud measure in that case.) I have my cards on my phone also, but I prefer not to use Apple Pay.
  16. Maybe they felt that the old system was being abused.
  17. Pick up some CR2032 batteries and have them on hand. Here are the instructions to replace the battery. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211670 I think (but don't quote me) that you can take the batteries on the plane.
  18. Even if you have to check out of your room the hotel would likely hold your bags for you, and you could have lunch in that vicinity before picking up your luggage and heading to the dock.
  19. I think I got an email a year before mine expired last June.
  20. Why would you go to Southampton from Heathrow when you intend to come back to London the next day to do a HOHO? I realize that hotels are cheaper in Southampton, but that makes no sense.
  21. I wouldn’t bike in central Amsterdam on an ebike or a regular bike. I did a bike and barge that ended in Amsterdam a few years ago. I was injured so I didn’t bike into town myself (I cruised in on the barge) but the rest of the group who had been cycling for a week and a half in the countryside, said it was terrifying cycling into Amsterdam. If you really want to cycle I would suggest a group tour outside of the centre.
  22. I just tried it. Follow @broberts instructions. The area to select the topics looks like the forum jump box. You can select your topic there. Not as easy as on the desktop but doable.
  23. I believe on the iPad if you turn it to landscape mode you can do it. As far as I know you can’t do it on a phone.
  24. Here it is. I had no problem finding it on the first page of the Zuiderdam roll calls.
  25. The link actually links to www.otga.org.uk. If you enter www.otga.co.uk it does come up. https://www.otga.co.uk/
