  1. I just sailed on a cruise that had a Chocolate Extravaganza. All sorts of pastries, candies, fondue, cakes, cookies, etc. I think it started about 10:00pm and went on for about 90 minutes or so.
  2. You are right....that is the topic. You will always get responses that vary. (It is just the way message boards go).
  3. The 3 of us will definitely have to have dinner together😀
  4. Hi Randy,😀 that is what I am doing too! Look forward to finally meeting you both.
  5. Then I guess you have to weigh how important the savings are as opposed to paying more for a different time of year. But to be honest, The Caribbean has so many choices and cruise lines that sail to those islands.......just start researching and see what you can find.
  6. I had an overnight in Manhattan back in 2019 as well. I actually got to see 2 Broadway shows.....one pre-cruise and one post😀
  7. Hi,😀 I always pack one checked bag and one carry on no matter how many days I am sailing. I have never exceeded the weight limit, no matter what the itinerary happens to be. I think many of the folks are talking about only bringing a carry on (which I have no desire to do really). I like having some choices but I really don't consider myself a big over packer. Now, I am guessing someone who only brings a carry on bag probably thinks a checked bag is over packing LOL.....they can do what is best for them and we can be happy with how we choose to pack too😀
  8. Hi Kat, sounds like you had a good time overall and that is what is important😀
  9. Randy, you are going on the TA crossing from Ft. Lauderdale in April on Nova? Guess what? Me too😀...so, if everything stays as is we will finally get to sail together!😀
  10. Hi Wayne, it is on the website but here is the link.......click on the picture. It should give you 3 separate videos, the longest one is 2minutes/13seconds. https://www.silversea.com/lp-silver-nova.html?cid_email=em_USA_EM2301195612_VS_CLASSIC_CON_DEM_LINK&IndividualId=18168223&utm_campaign=USA_EM2301195612_VS&utm_source=USA&utm_medium=Email&cid=131427&mid=335700172
  11. My very first cruise was back in 1985😧...I had gone through a divorce....The line is now out of business (as many lines have gone).......it was on "Premier"...."The Big Red Boat" (if memory serves). I didn't cruise again until 1992 and .my parents were celebrating their 50th Anniversary and took the family on a 3 night Carnival Cruise out of Port Canaveral. It was memorable and mom passed away 4 months after that cruise. Fast forward to 2003. I started cruising on a regular basis and have never looked back😀. It is now 20 years later and I have probably been on somewhere between 60-70 cruises😀. I guess it took me a long time to realize how much I love to cruise LOL...Oh, I am still LOVING IT!
  12. Hurricane season starts on June 1st and is supposed to end on Dec 1st........(you never know anymore with all our climate/weather issues in the world). But I agree lower prices would be during hurricane season.
  13. Hi folks, thought I would bring this back up. I will be in city in November and was hoping to see Funny Girl but I see she is closing in September☹️......oh well. Has anyone seen MJ? And if so, would love to hear your thoughts.
  14. Oh, yours was a while back. Mine was recently but I am just fine with a regular balcony. Sailing solo, SS classic veranda's give me more than enough room🙂.....no need for me fork out that much extra $.
  15. Good morning, I have been offered an upgrade (for me to pay nearly 3 grand)😮 to go from a classic veranda to one of the "BIG SUITES"........my rep at SS knows me very well......she was not surprised when I turned it down.
  16. Thanks......someone else told me that too. So now I know. But it doesn't help me since I won't be in the city on a Wednesday.
  17. My cruise arrives in NYC on a Friday and we are there overnight and disembark the next day. So Wednesday is out for me........thanks though🙂
  18. Because if the ship is in port overnight and you not there on a Saturday or Sunday, the only shows available are at night. I was actually looking for the same information. Matinee's are only on the weekends and I would not want to walk back to the ship alone at night. Actually, I will be there in November and it will probably be dark even when going to the theater as well.
  19. Hi Les, so sorry, no offense intended. The "British" know how to do Pomp and Circumstance🙂
  20. Yes, but it is part of the Hilton Brand.......I have heard it is supposed to be really nice🙂
  21. Tommy Bahama has all kinds of linen for both men and women. Just be aware, the prices can be quite $$$$.......though sometimes they do have sales.
  22. Hi, congrats on your booking🙂.....first item, make sure everyone has up to date Passports. Your question about credit cards.......everyone has different opinions. I use a Capital One VISA....no foreign transaction fees. I have had it for quite a few years and it is my CC to travel with........
  23. I must say, the English definitely know how to do "Pomp and Circumstance".
