  1. I know there’s tolls but I’m unsure which road they’re on. I don’t really mind taking it, we have am I-pass that works most places in the US that we can load money on so that’s not a big deal to us.
  2. I’ll be following along. I love your reviews. I’m so sorry for the damage your property sustained from Ian, I hope this cruise gives you the well deserved break you need.
  3. Thank, that’s an option too. I was also seeing that I could take I-57 south to Memphis and pick it up there. That’s one of the main reasons I asked. Sometimes you just have to outsmart the navigation. I’d love to stay primarily interstate if at all possible.
  4. So, we’re considering driving to Galveston for our next cruise. It’s about 14-15 hours so we would break it up into 2 days. I’m kind of doing my research now because I’ll need to present the pro’s and con’s to my husband. Anyways, I’m plotting a route leaving central Illinois and Apple Maps, google maps, and Mapquest all want me to take I-55 south of St. Louis to US 67 through Missouri and into Arkansas all the way to Little Rock. Is US 67 a 4 lane highway? Also will there be traffic lights and other things to deal with since it’s a highway and not an interstate? I can avoid US 67 if necessary but it would add time to the trip. Does anyone here have any experience with this area?
  5. No, we’re the eastern route too. We were supposed to go to San Juan, Grand Turk and Amber cove.
  6. I’m loving your review. Thank you for taking us along on your amazing cruise! Your cabin is fantastic!!
  7. Will iMessage work with the premium Wi-Fi? Or not at all on any of the plans?
  8. I really don’t know. But we have already booked the Jubilee, and it wasn’t cheap. I’d enjoy it and take it as a sign you should book!
  9. Maybe this is part of their way of controlling the fights that were breaking out? Do they think people are drinking too much in their cabin? No idea, just a thought.
  10. Last time we cruised we got the social plan. I just really wanted to be able to check my emails, facebook and send a text or two. I never had problems getting iMessage to work on that plan. I don’t think you should need the premium unless you’re planning on doing more than a few messages. It will cost money though, but I thought it was worth it.
  11. Basically, it’s a free for all. You’re going to get so many opinions on this… But in past my husband has worn dress pants and a nice shirt, a suit, khakis etc. I’ve always worn some sort of dress but the night my husband wore a suit i wore a nice cocktail dress. Some people dress really fancy, others not. It’s really up to you how fancy or not you want to go.
  12. Our cruise has been affected too. We’re on the 1/21/23 sailing. I’m sad, but we will just have to make a point to book another cruise that goes there in the future.
  13. Starbucks has a line of mugs for places you visit. So people collect them. I have one from Curaçao that I got at the Starbucks there. It’s similar to collecting fridge magnets or other similar items from your vacations. A lot of people go out of their way to get one from their favorite destination.
  14. Is that true? I’d love to know. I thought the benefit the suites got was the early online check in and the ability to choose their window first. Can you really show up anytime?
  15. No, but after reading about John Herald’s issues I am seriously considering purchasing apple air tags. They’re $99/4 on Amazon.
  16. As my cruise check in time approaches, I just have a few questions. It’s been several years since our last cruise, and I just don’t remember the process. What I do know is that I have a suite booked so I know check in is earlier for us. But I do think I’m going to stay up that night until the check in opens. It’s midnight EST correct? Also, it’s our first cruise with kids. So what info will I need to have for them? We all have passports. Will I need those numbers for check in? I’ll also input my credit card at that time too, correct? I know I can skip through and choose the arrival time and then go back. So I plan to do that. Any other tips? I’m trying to make this as painless a possible since I plan to stay up and do it.
  17. I wouldn’t chance it and I would bring the birth certificate
  18. Did you choose a TBA cabin? My guess is you could have booked a Havana cabin but not chosen a specific one. If you have your booking email go back and look to see if you were ever assigned a cabin from the beginning or if it always said TBA. Chances are it’s a TBA cabin and they have up until embarkation to assign it. You can call carnival and talk to to them about upgrading to the rate that allows you to choose.
  19. Loving your review and can’t wait to read more. I cannot believe the hotel thing. I too have worked in the hotel industry and that’s unacceptable!
  20. I thoroughly enjoyed your review! Thank you for doing it!
  21. When/where is the next one? Thanks again for another awesome review!
  22. Thank you again for the great review. I look forward to the next one!
