  1. From AA website: Transatlantic $0 / $75* *Free bag excludes Basic Economy: No free bag for basic economy. Hence my question as to whether anyone knows if when HAL books you in Economy, whether it's Basic or Premium. I started to call AA, but they refer you to your 3rd party, and also tell you an inquiry call can cost $50 or something like that. Also, chatting on the app got me nowhere. Couldn't get past the bot.
  2. Trying to figure out whether a checked bag is included in our fare. Our booking says Economy but generally AA uses the terms Basic Economy and Premium Economy. For Transatlantic flights it says the bag is free unless you are in Basic Economy. Does anyone have experience with this? I called HAL, and the rep checked and said it did include a bag, but I don't know whether to believe him or not.
  3. I'm not sure if this answers your question, but the onboard account settlements are made via a bank in France, so make sure you use a credit card with no foreign transaction fees, as the charge will be in Euros. This is true no matter when are sailing whether Caribbean, or Europe or Transatlantic.
  4. I got same day service last week also. In fact I received an email back so quickly, I assumed it was an auto reply so I didn't read it. Later I read it and it said they had applied the OBC. Great service. Now the transfer to agency which went to the same email address took 2-3 weeks. I finally had to call them to push it through while on the phone.
  5. I too am at a loss on the elusive Greece Port Authority's protocols for cruises. NCL only requires a test for vaxed pax if they embark in Piraeus, Greece. Other cruise lines are requiring tests for any passengers that stop in Greece as a port on an itinerary.
  6. Does anyone know if the X80 will be running in early November? There are still many cruise ships docking then even though I had seen that it only runs through September.
  7. Doesn't help me on my Transatlantic in April, but at least it's 3 days. Hopefully things will change by then.
  8. I believe the verbiage has been on the Carnival Corp form all along, it's just not been enforced. We haven't sailed any Carnival brands in a while, so appreciate the confirmation that the OBC will be used when charged for service charges.
  9. The Shareholder Benefit form says the OBC cannot be used for gratuities. Does anyone have any recent experience with this? We have always had the OBC applied on Carnival and Princess, although it's been a while since we sailed them.
  10. Yes, I see that. What is said and actually done may be different. We've used OBC on Carnival, Princess, etc. and this document applies to all Carnival Corp brands. Anyone have current experience on whether the shareholder credits can be used for tips?
  11. For NCL, the testing requirement remains only for cruises originating from Piraeus, Greece. Other ships just stopping in Greece are exempt for the testing. I wonder why the differences.
  12. Is it still running 1-2 weeks prior to sailing for Guarantee assignments? Any recent experiences?
  13. Interesting how threads get moved around to other places without notification to the author. My post was cruise line specific in response to a prior post in a topic. So the context gets lost along the way.
  14. Is it any cruise that visits Greece, or just those that begin in Greece? Different cruise lines specify embarkation in PIraeus, but others, do not. Secondly, has anyone seen documentation supporting Greece's requirement of cruise ship passengers to be tested?
  15. It's not the testing, it's the uncertainty of the result and if your whole vacation gets cancelled. Especially when you're travelling overseas to catch the cruise. I sure hope MSC catches up with their protocol adjustments. And then there's Greece to contend with.
