  1. We are on a casino comp cruise - we paid nothing for the cabin and received the princess plus ad on. We booked it last summer. Our cruise is next month - and our cruise summary is showing that we are receiving the new package - with dessets, exercise class, free mailing of medallion, etc. I believe that when the new plus package rolled in during February, any one with the old plus is now in the new plus and you would not pay extra.
  2. The timing issue is always going to be debatable. Recently a ship was due to dock in L.A. at 7:00 a, but due to our crazy weather, and coming in from Ensenada, it was announced that the ship would not dock until 9:30a. That affected a number of guest that were expecting to fly out before noon. No matter what time you book your flight, make sure that you have alternate flights that you can switch to if you miss your flight. We normally do the "after" 12:00p flights, but I have the flight times and flight numbers, so if we need to switch, I can call and get put on another flight. We did a cruise out of San Francisco and decided to fly in the morning of the cruise. Our flight was a 7:00a out of L.A, but we sat on the runway in SF for 45 minutes waiting for a gate to open. I was starting to panic that we would miss our transfer - everything worked out fine, but I don't like the stress. bottom line, give yourself the time and don't stress out.
  3. using the Princess transfer to airport I believe is around $39.00 each I would think it would be cheaper to take a taxi/uber to Best Western and then see if they have free shuttle to the airport for your flight
  4. We normally have two 22 inches suitcases that we turn over to the porter and we tip $5.00 My husband says it is insurance to make sure that we don't see our suitcases in the water as we leave the port.
  5. I don't agree with this. We usually have OBC of $200. We go to a machine, and charge $200 to our cabin This 200 is now in your bank. You can gamble $10 and "cash out" of that machine. You do not get cash, get goes back to your bank, so you now have $190 in your bank. You go to another machine and use your bank to put money on that machine. I have never had my account frozen due to playing less than $5 on the machine.
  6. When we first started up cruising after the covid stop - I used one credit card. Then we got a credit card that has zero percent interest for the next 2 years, so I wanted to switch our trips to that. I go to guest services when we first get on the ship and make sure that they have my zero percent interest card on file - It has now been 8 cruises in the past 14 months and they still show the "old" card. I ask them to change my file to the new card and they say - okay no problem, but yes there is a problem because it works for the duration of the cruise and then goes back to the old card. oh well
  7. you order win/loss records from the casinos that you have gambled at - including the cruise ship. You can only write off the amount of the win for the losses ie: if you get a 1099-G for $2,000 and you have records to show that you had lost $3,000 you can only write off $2,000.
  8. you offset your winnings with your losses
  9. If OP is on a free cabin casino cruise already, then there is nothing they are going to offer in OBC. I would call and ask to be moved only if they would upgrade the cabin and make sure you are getting the princess plus package - time to bargain.
  10. We just finished a cruise in January on Princess. It was a comped offer of free Balcony. I was able to go online, bid for a mini suite. The cost was $245 total for the upgrade. Yes you can bid - just go to your personalizer online and click on the upgrade within the 90 days limit
  11. the reason they are guaranteed for that cruise is that it is 67 days out. I have not tried a different cruise to see what would be allowed. Yes the plus package would increase the price.
  12. I logged into my account with Princess. I like to check the pricing and availability on cabins because of their new bidding system. I went to "plan a cruise" and selected our cruise in April it came up with 0 (zero) cost for inside, and balcony. I clicked on balcony, it showed all cabins were guaranteed, so I just clicked on it and it said my cost was $690 - $200 pp deposit and $145 pp for port tax = $690. I don't know which offer it would be using, we currently have several, but that is the first time that it has happened. It said I could add the plus package - which our current offers do not include plus package, only free cabin, casino play. I might consider trying to book a cruise this way instead of trying to get the casino department to answer the phone. I am going to check with the future cruise department when we are on board in April
  13. when we receive a notice that they have changed the flight time or flight, I contact the airline directly, find a better flight and have them change it. If they make a change, you don't have to pay anything. If the flight has not been paid for yet, then contact EZair and have them change you to a new flight - there should be no change in price.
  14. our last VIP cruise - we had VIP tags to wear around your neck while in the casino - the tag says VIP Casino. This gives you free drinks in the casino only. We did not have the plus package, but we not big alcohol drinkers, so the one or two drinks we gotin the casino was enough. We paid for the wifi and gratuities before we left on the cruise.
  15. We mostly cruise out of LA port, so we don't need to fly. when we have flown in the past, to Seattle, Vancouver, NYC, Ft Lauderdale, we always check our options. We did use EZair twice, the cost of the business class going through them was way cheaper than booking on our own/direct with airline. Shop around.
  16. thank you for providing this. plus package adds $1,073.66 per cabin (2 people) for a 7 day cruise. gratuities are only app $225.00 (depending on category of cabin) that leaves $848.00 for drinks and wifi, fancy desserts and exercise class I don't have to have any of those, so why spend the extra for the package.
  17. 16.00 grat 5.00 internet 0 coffee 12.00 one glass of wine, not everyday .60 bottle water ($7.08 for case of 12 delivered to room) total $33.60 per day per person - new plus price is $76.69 per day per person now it all depends on your alcohol consumption more than anything else and since I don't drink at home, I don't need to drink on the ship. So my daily cost can be $21.60 per day and I am saving $50.00 per day not getting the package (per person) - $100 per day for 7 days = $700.00 not spent on a package.
  18. We do not get the princess plus (even at the old price) unless it comes with our offer (we get casino offers) If princess plus is not included, then I pay for the gratuities about two weeks in advance of cruising. I purchase the wifi for one device and I order two cases of water. I bring powder gatorade and lemonde to make drinks for our cabin. If we want a glass of wine with dinner, we order and it may cost $25 per day for that. My coffee is free - regular brew and my husbands runs $1.75 each day. We save a lot not getting the princess plus. I have read that 60 - 70% of cruisers get a package, so the ships are getting a lot of extra money. Even when we have the drink package provided to us (free with our casino offer) - we never drink more than two drinks per day - we mostly benefit from not paying the gratuities.
  19. The problem is not getting off the ship or getting to LAX as much as the ship being cleared by customs. We have had a delay where no one was allowed off the ship until 9:00a - by then you are running into rush hour traffic (LA traffic is rush hour all day)
  20. our last cruise on Jan 7 - people were walking off at 7:00 a - but we have been delayed during 2022 until almost 9:00a, so I would suggest that you make it after noon for your flight.
  21. you will get a variety of answers. Some people play $20 a day and they get offers, others play way more - our last cruise a player next to me had over 35,000 pts - I believe it takes betting $3.00 to get one point. - go figure. Everyone has a different budget - we get offered a free cabin - my husband will get a free balcony and I usually get a free inside - we book the balcony, get the princess plus included in the offer, and get casino free play. We then budget our daily amount we will play (or lose). last cruise I was up $10 the first night, down $10 the second night, and then, .... lost. Final day I hit over $900 and it covered my total losses. My husband hit over $1,000 and played on it for the cruise. after playing, on the last day of the cruise you will receive a card under your door with a thank you and an offer to come back - you have 6 weeks to book a new cruise with the offer and 6 months to take that cruise. husband got a free inside, princess plus and $150 free play me - free inside, no princess plus and $250 free play we usually do not book with these offers, because we have cruises already booked in the near future and these don't work for us. since we do not pay for the cabin, in some cases the cost of the cabin can run over $4,000 and we never gamble that much, so if you are paying $4,000 for your cabin and we pay nothing, but lose $2,000 total - who is ahead?
  22. the last time I used it was in June last year.
  23. sorry took so long to get back to you - casinoinquiry@princesscruises.com put in your princess #, your offer #, the dates of the cruise you are interested in, leave a phone number - they have called me back. detail the offer as much as you can - and the expiration date of the offer good luck
