Our May cruise has only 2 excursions listed. One I don’t want to do & another I’m not sure I can with limited mobility 😬 Any ideas about guides in Olden thanks

We have now changed to the troll excursions. Anyone have recommendations for Private tour guides for Norway? Thank you

We’ve booked the Troll road excursion with the ship for our upcoming May cruise. Hoping we may be able to fit something else in as well if not too tired.

There were hardly any children on our Celebrity Apex cruise in October.

Went there for my 30th almost 30years ago. Gorgeous place. Must go back one day.

Butlers are human at the end of the day. They work long hours. Small mistakes are bound to happen at times.

Emailed to cancel our provisional hold on May 24 for Apex Norway. Dh said no to an SV at £4500. We are paying less than that for Silhouette next May in Aqua. A shame but he agrees should relook later.

I’ve just provisionally booked an SV on Apex for an 8 night cruise May 2024 at slightly more than my upcoming May 7 night cruise in Aqua on Silhouette. That’s a lot of difference.

Hmm that’s interesting as agent told me SV are in their own category. Maybe for E class only? We haven’t sailed in one yet - have booked it for May 2024. On hold till tomorrow. At a similar price as Aqua on Silhouette this upcoming May 🤷🏻‍♀️ Which I’m now beginning to find ridiculous actually….

I know you want to try the IV but what about an SV? Sure no Blu but MDR & speciality restaurants. That’s what we just booked for May 2024. Our last cruise on Apex was in a CS. We liked Luminae but weren’t blown away & we loved Eden & the steakhouse. So we will still have our cruise at a cheaper fare. Only issue is if you are in SV I’ve been told you can’t utilise move up. Nice decisions to have. Whatever you choose will be wonderful I’m sure.

Some informative replies. I feel for me that under 1000 passengers maybe too small. We sailed on Celebrity Constellation a few years ago & I felt too small. We were on Apex (Retreat) recently & that was definitely too big. I’m older now so maybe should try smaller again. Looking at lots of options for May 2024 already.

We’d already booked no 9. Harbour hotel as we like the chain but will look at Moxy & see if Dh can use his points. Also look of Pig in the wall. Decisions decisions!

I’m looking at SV. Suites are quite high & not sure I can justify it without using sun deck. Will have a think. Aqua is out because of the IV. Shame we loved Apex when we were on her in October. Helped by the fact we were in a CS. 😂

Advice please as going on Celebrity Silhouette in May. Maloy - no excursions listed yet. Alesund - Srandafjell Olden only cray fishing or cable car & hike, limited mobility so can’t do latter Haugesund - Akrafjord & Langfoss Waterfall any suggestions please for private guides or stick to ship excursions or diy? thank you

We used Eli & Moti Bar Tuv from Travel Israel for all of our 3 days in Israel they were amazing. Got us right there - Eli ensured as much as possible that I didn’t need to queue as I’m limited mobility. At the Dead Sea we had lunch in a private hotel all arranged by Moti. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

We always travel with test kits. Our recent Apex cruise we tested half way through in case asymptomatic & when I had a cough. Negative. We’ve both been unwell since we’ve been home (2 weeks) temperatures, cough, sore throat. Still negative. Whatever we’ve brought home isn’t covid. Then we remember that we are usually unwell after a cruise. Unsurprising given the lifts, coaches etc.

We were in a CS on Apex, & in previous PHs & never had an issue changing or getting speciality restaurants. We just asked our butler or concierge.

We like Any Time Dining. We’ve done fixed but hated the rush for dinner if we fancied doing something else first. If we ever have to wait for a table then we just have a drink at a bar while waiting.

How about a Scandinavian cruise. Greece is hot in the summer but I don’t think it’s unbearable. Cyprus & Turkey are definitely hotter. Often hits the 40’s in the summer.

We had our passports checked on the ship daily.

A cruise we wanted to book while on Apex wasn’t showing online even though we’d been sent a leaflet a few days before. Future cruises said it was sold out hence not showing online.

Agreed. A huge pass. Having seen them in reality dh & I agree SV or a suite on E class. Or a different line. We are almost at elite+ so that will be annoying From a loyalty points POV.
