*~~~LIVE from Oasis 7/17/2010~~~*

Recommended Posts

OMG Denise this is great! Our group will be sailing on Oasis in 34 days!

Are you going to try the zip line? Can you find out if it you can sign up for multiple times on different days? My kids would like to do

it more than once and want to know if it is possible.

Does anyone have the link to the "secret" places thread? I read it before

but didn't save it.

I also wanted to know what night to eat at Giovani's table?

It would be great if you can post the DR menu's when you get home.

Thank you so much for your info and have a GREAT TIME!

This is just amazing!!! You are sooooo thoughtful to take time out of your vacation on Oasis to do this for us in the "real world". PLEASE take your time, enjoy yourself, smell the roses, and take in ALL the ship has to offer. We do appreciate you taking your time to post but after all YOU ARE ON OASIS!!!!!!!!!! :D :p

DITTO!!!! You are amazing to do this for us!

Forgive me for repeating this but.....I LOVE THIS SHIP!!!

So to continue....

Got to the pool about 9:45. I usually like to sit on the top deck for the breeze but noticed umbrellas in some tables next to the pool and chose that area for my husband who hates the sun. Right away I met Steve, who turns out use to perform on the ship lines, and we chatted away for the longest time. The nicest guy! And small world...he was a lurker on our 7/17 thread!!! Cracked me up!! Ran into Cindy from the thread too and we all chatted in the water. The funniest thing was there was a woman with the EXACT same suit on as me!! Everyone at the pool was commenting and we had agreat laugh! It was a fun morning! Had my virgin Mango Tango....still DELICIOUS as ever!!

Hubby and I strolled to the kid's pool area (so so cute and fun!!!) where the 2 frozen yogurt machines were, He had strawberry, I had half and half. It was VERY good!!

Then we went to the solarium for pictures...my first time there (who has time!!???). It did not smell like another thread had said, and was warm but not hot. It was a BEAUTIFUL place! It is too warm for me, but a great great place to hang. Definitely worth going to!!

Thought I had more time, but I don't. Have to be on the Helipad for the Champagne sailaway and I need to get organized here.

I am soooooo happy!!!!!

Walk all the way forward on deck 14. Go through the door on your left and you are there. I have all these notes from another thread saved in a folder for our trip in Oct. ;)

We are sitting in front of the Cupcake Cupboard.

...

We can't roam because of our heavy carry ons, which is why we are planted here for another 15 minutes watching thousands of people walking past us. Some from my thread have recognized me as I sit on the laptop!!! Too funny!!.

I'm building a collection of the web-cam images of the Royal Promenade, so I looked for you around the time of your post in my archive, but alas, the Cupcake Cupboard is too far away from the camera to have seen you clearly enough, I'm afraid.

If you do find yourself hanging out somewhere where the Royal Promenade web-cam might show you (such as the area between Sorrento's and Solera), and stand there for a minute or two, post what time you were there and I'll check my archive to see if I can find you. :)

Thanks so much for posting daily...your thread is getting us excited and in the mood as our cruise is this coming weekend, 7/24!!!!...We're coming from the West Coast and haven't been on a cruise since The Freedom in 2006!

Some questions...was there a Welcome Aboard Show w/ Spacey? Also, how is the weather and the seas so far? Is the ship rocking at all so far?

Thanks....

Have a great cruise!

thanks for all the wonderful posts! i'm enjoying it, glad I found it, will be sailing on her in late Oct, I too booked in aug 2008 and thought this cruise would never get here! I found a site today with live webcams from Oasis, maybe you can say when you'll be there and we can catch you live! I thought I'd arrange for the grandkids to see me on our cruise and was wondering how good the site is. Enjoy your cruise!

They do not have a welcome aboard or farewell show on the Oasis due to the amount of showings that they have for Hairspray and Come Fly with Me.

Denise, Thank you so much for doing your 'Live From' posts...

We were lucky enough to be on the beautiful Lady O in April this year (sailing number 20) and we absolutely loved everything about her !!! In fact - you seem to be even more excited than I was - and I didn't think THAT was at all possible.....lol.....

In fact.....I still sit here in rainy old Middle England every Saturday night around 10pm (UK time) just to watch her sailaway.......Sad or What ???

And.....Yes...you guessed right...I will be sat here again next Saturday morning about 9:00am ish (UK time) just to watch her come back into port !!!

I just know you are having a Fabulous time onboard Lady O - She is indeed a very special Lady.....

Enjoy Everything Denise - We Did !!!!! :D :D :D

Daghis ~~~ hubby and I were actually sitting at a table in front of Sorrentos about 2:30. We were drinking coffee, had a sandwich and a cookie. There is a bar right there on the 5th that rises to the 6th, and I was getting pictures of it as it rose. What a trip!!

Janetz ~~~ ty!!

MissDot ~~~ I will give more details about that upon my return in my review...I feel too rushed doing it on the ship. I am in the room so little as it is, and I spend the time on this thread!!! I am nuts!! lol Please remind me if I forget ( I will share any info I have with you..maybe we'll end up emailing). I feel like we best friends already!!

Clio ~~~ so you KNOW what I am experiencing!!!

The helipad here is closed off to the public so the treat today for Diamond and Diamond plus members was an invite to a champagne sailaway with the supervisors of the departments on the ship. At 1:30 is was beautiful and sunny and exciting....at 1:55 there was a downpour and we all had to come in before sailaway! So dissapointing not to stay. But we had great talks when we were out there with our new friend who heads the HR dept here and will move for a bit to the Allure, who calls us by name whenever she sees us, and talso to he head of housekeeping. He was a wonderful man! It was an amazing view while we had it!!

We then went for our 4th snack of the day to the promenade, and then the casino. Decided to come up and post before we head to the Boardwalk (hubby needs another snack!!!!)

We have dinner at Giovannis at 6pm, and we go to the Aqua theatre at 9.

No time left.....we are off..again!!!
