    • Never, once dressed, we stay dressed
    • Sometimes, it depends on how we feel
    • I always change ASAP
    • Change down only on formal nights
    • Don't do formal dress, so make other dinner plans

We have not changed in the past but always wanted to. One feels sort of silly dressed in black tie and cocktail dress seated next to people in casual wear. Not to mention, the casual wear is so much more comfortable!! What is called formal wear is really rarely formal anyway.

I'm out of my formal clothes as soon as humanly possible.

I do the same at home, however. My husband was always amused when we'd come home from work about the same time, he'd visit the restroom or change his shoes and in 60 seconds I'd be in my pajamas.

I'm not usually a "changer", but it's gotten so that almost no one is formally dressed around the ship after the late seating dinner on formal nights. In the casino, the shops or the shows; half of the people are just barely meeting the CASUAL dress code. If I stay in my LBD and fancy jewels, I am definitely in the minority! Now, I'm no dress code police woman, but it is a bit disappointing. Should Celebrity just make it official and go "Country Club Casual" all the time or what is the answer?

I don't change - pantyhose and girdles have not been something I have worn for many years. OK the occasional pantyhose when dressed up in cold climates. Tried Spanx and decided I am too old to be uncomfortable. A cocktail dress or silk skirt and blouse on formal nights is what I have worn for the last 2 years.

Sandals are wonderful - living in SoCal - almost year round shoes.

We will be staying in our formal wear as we can only pack so many outfits (and shoes) for a 12 night cruise. We love dressing up, but I may walk back to the room carrying my shoes if it's a late night.

Can't pack for 12 days. Any cruise over 10 I get clothes laundered.

It depends on which ship or line I am on.....

For example, on Cunard, formal is 'derigeur', and everyone stays formal when required.

On my last Celebrity cruise (in 2005), they required formal attire after dinner in the theater on 'formal' evenings. I don't know about know.

On HAL formal nights, they don't, so I will usually change.

On NCL, there is no formal, period.

I think the trend in general through the years is less formal. This may please some, and dismay others, but whatever is in fashion, I have no problem with complying, and try to fit in whichever....

I believe the reason cruiselines push formal evenings may have more to do with increased photo sales opportunities, than with a 'sophisticated' atmosphere, but then I am a cynic...

Never change, spend so much time getting dressed, might as well make it last till we go to bed. We usually have dinner early on formal nights, so as to fit in the show and lots of dancing. Bow might be loosened towards the end, but nothing comes off! :D

Stay dressed and enjoy it. I wear a suit/tux that fits and is comfortable. It's not the tie that restricts, it's the shirt neck that is too small and still worn.

And yes, I dress down when I get home from work, but at home, I'm not stepping into venues with 100s of others. As the evening progresses, usually slip the jacket off to dance and relax. Don't see it as a necessity to go change or to 'stay formal', just don't make it a big deal and enjoy my dressed-up wife and the general atmosphere. I cruise to experience a different atmosphere than at home or on some general vacation and dressing up once or twice is part of it.
