richardukcruise Posted August 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) Was the menu changed late last year, or has it changed again? The reason I ask is that I found the article below. It appears to tie in with the already discussed amended menu on this forum, but I noticed that they said the dessert menu stayed the same. Does this mean Crème Brulee IS still on? http://www.travelingwiththejones.com/2014/01/27/a-peek-at-holland-americas-new-pinnacle-grill-menu/ Edited August 7, 2014 by richardukcruise
jaspersmycat Posted August 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 7, 2014 The Creme Brulee was still on the PG menu in June on the Ryndam. (And it was still delicious!)

richardukcruise Posted August 7, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted August 7, 2014 (edited) That's good news. It had been reported on here recently that it had been taken off the menu. It's the only dessert that is gluten free, which is great for anyone with an allergy or intolerance. RMLincoln Posted August 7, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I'm quite sure the sorbet is gluten free, as is the fresh fruit plate, and I'm almost certain the ice cream is too, or at least it was a few years ago when I had to check the ingredients label. m--
drgrinch Posted August 7, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 7, 2014 We are currently on the Westerdam and I am happy to report that we had creme brulee last night in Le Cirque and the three-flavor HAL version Sunday with a regular Pinnacle dinner. Maybe the issue is on certain sailings or vessels?
SilvertoGold Posted August 7, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 7, 2014 On the Zuiderdam Pinancle menu in July. We liked the Le Cirque creme brulee, as well.

Krazy Kruizers Posted August 7, 2014 #12 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Someone reported here a while ago that crème brulee was on the "always available" menu for the main dining room. But some of us mentioned that on cruises we were on that it was not always available every night in the main dining room.
Typhoon1 Posted August 7, 2014 #13 Share Posted August 7, 2014 Crème Brule is one of the more poplar desserts, I doubt it will ever disappear from the MDR or PG menu.
cruisinjudy Posted August 7, 2014 #14 Share Posted August 7, 2014 I had creme brulee almost every night on our Panama Canal cruise. Yes there are a few other gluten free items but I also can't have most fruits and chocolate. I didn't like their vanilla ice cream. One night I did have cheese cake and they removed the crust. Most cheesecake recipes call for 1-3 Tablespoons of flour although it can be made without. It is a shame that cruiselines do not venture into more diverse gluten free desserts. olson99 Posted August 8, 2014 #18 Share Posted August 8, 2014 It was NOT on the PG menu on the Macadam July NE Cruise. Maybe just that one ship/chef combo

True, I can eat the cheesecake as I am sensitive to gluten but not severely. Those who are severely affected by gluten know to be very careful. It is a matter of finding your point of sensitivity. CaveDiving Posted August 10, 2014 #22 Share Posted August 10, 2014 Creme brûlée was not on the P.G. dessert menu last week on the Amsterdam. Very disappointing. Scott & Karen
NextOne Posted August 15, 2014 #23 Share Posted August 15, 2014 We concur. It was not on the PG menu when we ate last week on the Amsterdam. Others said they thought it was there on other nights. Would they actually switched things up on various nights? I was also disappointed that Steak Diane wasn't offered anymore, but that may be old news. ...
