No cold water in the sink, stool, or shower. After four visits by the plumber, they were able to get the water to a temperature that was suitable for taking a shower, but still no real control over the temperature. Comments - The other issue that I had was the bed was set up as a queen and it kept sliding apart. After three tries they finally tied the the two beds together and put on a thicker mattress topper which solved the problem. One thing I will mention is when the bed is set up as a queen in this cabin, there are jump beds that fold down on each side, so getting in and out of bed is not convenient. I would hit my shoulder if I did not stoop down. If you are a family of four this room layout would be OK, but I would not recommend this room unless the water is fixed. Overall I still had a great cruise and the cabin location was handy. Princess gave me $150 future cruise credit which is good.

Comments: Worst bed we've ever slept on. It was so soft you couldn't roll over without sitting up or getting out of bed. It was more comfortable to take the sofa mattress out and lay that on the floor. Cabin size was OK, Fridge didn't work, large hanging space with no doors. Very small bathroom. The lights that came on automatically at night when they detected movement were a pain. Stick your leg or arm out of the sheets at night and light would come on. Ended up putting a cushion in front of it. There is nothing special about this deluxe cabin.

At home our bed is considered "firm" but the bed in this cabin was quite a bit "firmer" than what we have at home. I was surprised by this as our last multiple cruises all had the "Princess Bed" that is so comfortable. Comments: Located very conveniently to the forward elevators/stairs. Loved the location and had zero issues. Cabin was clean and in excellent repair. Most balconies on this class of ship are quite small. Dolphin deck has a bunch of larger balconies on the aft portion but, as far as "standard" balcony cabins go there are only two large balconies on the mid-forward portion of the deck. These are D226 (this cabin) and D227 (on the Starboard side). They are located where the mini-suites end and have the same large balcony as those cabins. Rare 5:00_Somewhere Posted May 4 #435 Share Posted May 4 Ship Sun Class Sun / Sphere Deck 17 Stateroom # 17636 Category S4 Penthouse Suite Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern Port Side Stern Connects With Cabin # n/a Acessible No Quiet Mostly, but there is some scraping and bumping of loungers on the Signature Sun Deck above about 6:30 a.m., but this is relatively minor and short-lived. There is also a small lift outside the cabin door, but we never heard any noise from it. And there is a door to the Specialty Restaurant “Love by Britto” right outside the cabin door, but this was not open yet during our cruise, so do not know what noise this might bring. Balcony Size Medium, about 4.5 feet/1.5 meters wide and runs more than the full length of the cabin, extending past the stern-most cabin wall to afford aft wake views. There are sliding doors from both the living room and bedroom leading to the balcony. The balcony has a small, square dining table with 3 chairs, a loveseat and ottoman, all with cushions and pillows. View Unobstructed, including stern/wake views. Privacy Issues Minor. The balcony is fully covered, but there is an al fresco seating area associated with Love by Britto on the other side of the stern-most balcony divider which passengers can use. This can accommodate more passengers than a standard cabin balcony Wind Minor if windy and/or if the ship is moving fast. Soot None Electrical Outlets Multiple outlets all over the cabin, including on each side of the bed. The outlets include several US and a few European E/F style, as well as many USB-A and USB-C powerpoints. Problems Minor: there is the minor early morning noise from the Signature Sun Deck, mentioned above. Also, there are motion sensors both outside and inside the bathroom that activate bathroom nightlights. The sensor in the light switch plate outside the bathroom is very sensitive and turned the nightlights on all night long with the slightest motion, so we covered this with painter’s tape and that solved the problem. The sensor inside the bathroom only activates the lights when someone is actually in the bathroom, which is nice. Comments This is a wonderful cabin. Additional features include heated/fog-free bathroom mirrors, a Lavaza pod coffee maker, curtains to divide the bedroom from living room, and plenty of storage in 2 large wardrobes, one in the bedroom and one in the living space. 1

GK95 Posted June 25 #438 Share Posted June 25 Ship, Class, Deck, Stateroom, and Category - Sun Princess / Sphere Class / Deck 11 / Stateroom 11354 / Deluxe Balcony Connects With Cabin # - n/a Accessible – No Quiet - Yes Balcony Size – Oversized. Plenty of room for two chairs, a small table and to move around. View – Normal Privacy Issues – None Wind - No Soot - No Problems – The bathroom size seemed smaller than on the Sky Princess. It would be because it wasn’t at an angle and it has a glass door on the Sun Princess. When you open the shower door, it gets tight. And it’s nearly impossible to change your clothes inside the bathroom without the main door open (we are not large sized people). Comments – For some reason on the Sun Princess, when others let their cabin door slam shut, the walls of your cabin will rattle and it’s very loud. Also we were under the impression that the extra bed for the 3rd passenger was a couch. But it dropped down from the ceiling which is something we were trying to avoid. The balcony in the cabin overlooked two other decks of balconies, so you could look right down and see others. But this balcony was the first one of stacked balconies, so no one was looking down on us. Closet size is amazing. Plenty of room for clothes and shoes. Lots of hangers, drawers and shelves (enough for 3 people). You no longer get slippers in non-suite cabins though. Room size seemed tighter than other ships. The balcony size was great. Privacy Issues: None Wind: No Soot: No Problems: None Comments: We had booked a DF room which was a Deluxe Balcony guarantee and were assigned M720, deck 15 all the way aft, last room on the side of the ship (the room aft of us was an aft facing balcony. Room is under the public deck space aft of the buffet. Normally we wouldn’t choose such a room for fear of noise from above but in this case we heard nothing. I would book this room again. When had 10’ or more swells and wind cruising the North Sea and I don’t recall feeling any motion in that room (we did feel motion in other parts of the ship). The room itself seemed a bit bigger than other cruise lines (NCL, RCCL, CCL), but, the bathroom might be a tad smaller. Room had a queen bed and and couch which I believe is what distinguishes the standard balcony from the “deluxe” balconies. I think moving forward, I will always be sure to book at least a deluxe balcony on Princess because sitting on that couch was sometimes very necessary (like when it was raining and we couldn’t use the balcony). Like many Princess cabins, room has an open closet area just outside the bathroom. We liked this setup, it works for us. Sure, I’d rather not have my closet on display for all to see when they enter the room, but, we don’t ever have anyone enter our room so no problem. The bed was extremely comfortable, it came with a mattress topper so no need to request one like you do with other lines. . Balcony view: Unlike many cabins on deck 15, the last few cabins towards the aft, including this one, do not have any overhang. Some find that overhang to be annoying, not a problem here.

Balcony Size: Large wrap around balcony with partial cover narrow balcony through bedroom slider access, wonderful wide balcony through living area slider access. (see photos) View: Beautiful wake view Privacy Issues: Not really, if another passenger on one of the surrounding balconies looked up or down over their railing and you were at your railing, you could be seen. Wind: very little to none even when the ship was in motion Soot: None Problems: I experienced no difficulties at all Comments: For my Alaskan cruise, the balcony was worth the extra cost of this aft facing suite. It was a large wrap around balcony with two entrances. Furniture on the balcony included two loungers, a dining table, two side tables and four chairs. The stateroom itself was clean and comfortable, although there were spots that were showing a little wear and tear, notably the sink in the shower room which featured a small hairline crack down the bowl. The bathroom was split in two sections; sink and toilet and sink, tub, and shower. The water pressure was not great but adequate. The provided toiletries were a shampoo/conditioner combo and shower gel in the shower/tub, hand soap and hand lotion by the shower sink and hand soap by the sink in the sink/toilet combo. The living area and bedroom were separated by a curtain and a closet area which made it feel like two separate rooms. This cabin was super comfortable for two with plenty of space for lounging both indoors and out.
