Ship - Grand

Deck - 6

Cabin # - F301

Category - Window Suite - WS

Location:  Mid-Forward

Connects With Cabin # - not a connecting cabin

Accessible - no

Quiet - yes

Balcony Size - No Balcony.  2 enormous picture windows

Privacy Issues - none

Comments - First time in Window Suite.  We loved the proximity to our usual hangouts.  One deck up to Promenade deck (Crooner's - Crown Grill).  One deck down to Piazza (International Cafe - Vines).   Apparently is the smallest Window Suite but we had plenty of room for storage.  No noise from nearby casino but sometimes noticed smell of cigar smoke in the hallway.

A number of people complained about the night light at the bottom of the night stands & outside the restroom that automatically came on especially at night. Some people used pillows to block the censer & others had the sensors disconnected.

Ship - Majestic

Deck - 12

Cabin # - A324

Category - MA mini suite with balcony

Starboard toward front elevator

Connects With Cabin # - not a connecting cabin

Accessible - no

Balcony Size -very small barely room for 2 chairs and a round table.  Not much room to move around the furniture.

View - side unobstructed

Privacy Issues - none

Wind - very little

Problems - No problems.

Comments - No service door in area, quiet. short walk to forward elevator.  Full curtain divides bed from sofa area for privacy.  As an added bonus, if you like to sleep in, this curtain serves to keep out the morning light that leaks through around the balcony curtain.  We would book this cabin again.

Ship.      MAJESTIC PRINCESS

Class.     Royal

Deck.        MARINA

Stateroom # M428

Category.  Mini suite

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern. Port

Connects With Cabin # 426

Accessible no

Quiet. Occ noise from those walking above, but quiet at night. No one was in the adjoining cabin, so unsure of the connecting door.

Balcony Size 8’ wide. It is slanted, so 4’ deep at the narrowest part and 7’ deep at the part under the sky walk bar.

View balcony is covered by the entrance to the sky walk bar.

Privacy Issues the last two floor windows of the sky walk bar can see the balcony, if they squat down to look. You can see their feet. The part of the balcony that sticks out allows other balconies to see you.

Wind Balcony faces aft so it is protected from the wind.

Soot not an issue

Problems none on my sailing, but the boat was only at 40% capacity.

Comments I liked this cabin with a deeper balcony than the majority of cabins onboard. The part that juts out allowed me to chat with folks on other balconies which was fun.

Ship- Majestic Princess

Deck -Emerald

Cabin # 425

Category - BW Obstructed Balcony

Connects With Cabin # N/A

Quiet - Very

Balcony Size -  Odd shape push out so a bit larger than most.

View - Excellent

Privacy Issues - No issues with sea walk

Wind - Normal

Soot - None

Problems - None

Comments - Great location , close to center elevators but no noise from elevators, no crew doors nearby.  One flight down to public area on Piazza deck seven.  Saved a lot of walking through halls to reach main areas.  Listed as obstructed by no obstructions.  This cabin is above the Princess shops area and the outside center promenade area.  There was no noise from the outside deck area just below the balcony.  The balcony was larger than on our most recent mini suite.  There is only one chair and no room for another chair or table inside the room.  Very small inside cabin area.

Ship: Caribbean Princess

Accessible: No

Quiet: Yes

Balcony Size: N/A

Comments: This is a great central location and very convenient to the central elevators and stairs. I always took the stairs, so being on the Caribe Deck was also convenient since that meant only four decks up to the Lido or five decks down to the Plaza.

Ship - Emerald

Class - Crown

Deck - 8

Cabin #E415

Category - Obstructed Ocean View

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern - Starboard Midship

Connects With Cabin # - n/a

Accessible -  no

Quiet - no, see comments

Balcony Size - n/a

View - extremely minimal obstruction

Privacy Issues -  crew on stairway leading up from deck below might be able to see in window

Wind - n/a

Soot - n/a

Problems - Window is over a crew stairway from deck below. Some clanking noise from either gate at bottom of stairway or a metal door. Sometimes were very early in the morning. No noise heard from elevator lobby although it is very nearby.

Comments -  There is no obstruction at all straight out from the window.  Obstructions can only be seen when closer to the window and looking up or down. The good of the view outweighed the negative of the occasional noise in our opinion.  If you like to sleep in or are easily disturbed, it might not be the best cabin.

Problems. Room was a little small.  We kept bumping into each other.  Bathroom door is basically in the closet.

Comments  We were given this room as we reserved a guaranteed room.  We thought there might be issues being so close to the elevator, but there weren’t any.  In fact, we liked being so close to them and the stairs.  It was perfectly quiet.  The elevator took us straight to the buffet and pool area.  Convenient.

Ship - Regal

Class - Royal

Deck - Riviera

Cabin # - R733

Category - D4 (Premium deluxe balcony)

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern - completely aft

Connects With Cabin # - not a connecting cabin

Accessible - no

Quiet - yes

Balcony Size - large

View - aft

Privacy Issues - Yes, the balcony is totally exposed to view from people on balconies above the cabin

Wind - very little

Soot - none

Problems - Yes, big vibrations when the ship docks; smaller vibrations occasionally; balcony does not offer any shade when the ship is positioned wrong in relation to the sun.

Comments - I loved this cabin. The view of the wake was great. I especially liked it at night because I could see the stars better because the ship's lights were not interfering. The balcony was large enough for the two chairs with foot stools and a little table. The cabin has a loveseat that would convert to a bed for a third passenger.

Ship  Caribbean Princess

Class Grand

Deck Dolphin

Cabin # D736

Category Vista Suite

Port/Starboard/Bow/Stern Stern

Connects With Cabin # no

Accessible  no

Quiet Wake noise and vibration from ship.  Ride was a bit rough so noticed hangers in closet.

Balcony Size  Very big.  The famous "beam" is not really an issue to me.  Table with four chairs, two loungers and side table.  Aft so wind was not an issue.  Nice wrap around at one side.  I would probably skip this if I wanted to sit out with my spouse in the evening, too loud to have a conversation.

View Ship's wake, port side with wrap around of balcony railing.

Privacy Issues  None, at the very end of the corridor.

Wind  Only bad close to the railing.

Soot no

Problems power outlets are limited.  Bring a strip or USB hub if needed.  I was solo so I managed.

Comments  no people noise, but a lot of ship noise

Quiet Quiet. Never noticed any noise.

Balcony Size Small

View Port Side

Privacy Issues  None

Wind  No issues

Soot no

Problems power outlets are limited.  Bring a strip or USB hub if needed. One European socket that could be used with an adapter.

Comments  I paid for an upgrade to a Balcony. Elevator very close to stateroom. Also close to outside Lido deck & Burger station. Angled balcony stateroom next door which would be a great choice. Lights on the bottom of the nightstand came on at night. I just put a pillow over the light at night. Safe didn’t work but stateroom attendant just had to change the batteries. 2 USB sockets at the nightstand. I was on a B2B cruise & had a small thermometer that sticks to the sliding door. After the 1st week I noticed it was missing. Notified the stateroom attendant who called his supervisor. Luckily I had a photo of it which was used to locate it. It must have come off when the crew was cleaning all of the balconies.

Great location as I could easily get to & from the Princess Theatre. Out at deck 6 it was a short walk through the casino to my dinning room.

Comments We loved the enormous balcony, and the separate living area. The bathroom is divided into a large room with double sinks, enormous glassed in shower plus a tub, and a second smaller room with a sink and toilet. Just can't say enough about the amazing bathroom.  Top quality bath amenities.

Also, there was ample storage, both for hanging clothes, and on shelves and in the many, many drawers all around the cabin. There were also plenty of electrical outlets and charging ports, including in the base of the bedside lamps.

Mini fridge was stocked with "Elite" assortment.  Ice bucket was filled twice daily as well as fresh fruit basket replenished upon request.  In room canapes were available every night.  Surprised with chocolate covered strawberries one day and bonbons another.

Laundry was picked up each morning and normally back the same day.

Bed and pillow choices were very comfortable and linens were changed every day.  Room was also serviced twice a day.

Private concierge area available for suite passengers.  Stocked with beverages, cheeses and amuse-bouche selection. Arrangements were made with concierge to have luggage picked up on the last night and taken to airport and checked in for us.

Balcony Size Larger than standard on Royal Class ships, approximately twice as deep

Problems Minor: between 6:00 and 6:15 am there is noise from above when the deck crew is putting out loungers on the deck 18 sundeck directly above the cabin. Otherwise, completely quiet.

Comments We loved the location, directly adjacent to the Retreat Pool (and bar), one deck up from the Lido Deck pool, food venues, and one deck down from sun decks, hot tubs and The Sanctuary. We also loved the slightly larger than standard balcony size, and the fact that when we opened the cabin door, the hallway was full of natural light coming through the windows overlooking the Retreat pool. There were plenty of electrical outlets in the desk area, as well as standard USB ports in the base of each bedside lamp.

Ship - Grand Princess

Deck - Emerald, Deck 8

Cabin # - E110

Category - Outside, obstructed view

Port side, very far forward

Accessible - no

Quiet - yes; people could walk by outside but I never heard them

View - no obstruction, walking path outside

Privacy Issues - none

Problems - I knowingly booked this cabin almost all the way forward for the unobstructed view at an obstructed price.  Because of the location, the crashing of the waves was somewhat noisy and a bit rocky, but I actually enjoyed it.

The main problem was the additional beds on the walls.  I've had pull-down berths on the ceilings to make the cabin for 4, but these beds were on the wall and took up precious space in a small cabin. It was very difficult to sidle sideways to reach the bed. and very easy to slam your shoulder or bonk your head as you're attempting to get in or out of bed.  I know what to look for in the future and would never accept this situation again.

Sorry, my pictures keep coming up on their sides.  Please use your imagination 😉
