Classic cocktails cost

Has the per drink cost for Princess Classic Cocktails gone up to $6.95? My favorites are Manhattan and Old Fashion. They used to be $5.50.

Also, the prices at the top of the drinks menu for each type of alcohol (vodka, rum, whiskey, etc.), are those straight or with a mixer, like club soda?

Thanks!

I think it is actually $7.95 or $8.95.

I'm sorry, but those prices are morbidly out of date. I drank Old Fashions almost exclusively on the Emerald in July either in the MDR or Wheelhouse (during HH); they're about $9 each. Welcome to 2015! The happy hours however brought them down to a respectable $5 or so each if you care to double up (er, and I did). Otherwise, yup, $9 - that's why it's shrewd to defray costs wherever and however you can....

Cocktail prices on Princess are a bargain compared to prices on land. A cocktail on land is at least $10 before tip. More likely $12-$13 before tip and that is for the house brand liquor.

I think that depends where you are on land. Larger, more cosmopolitan cities will charge more than your small "one traffic light" towns. Just factor in the ambiance and the price will not hurt as much.

Thanks to all for the information. Yes, I think land prices vary. I am in Michigan right now, and prices range from $5.50 to $8 for a Manhattan.

So, the prices that show at the top of each "menu" page, showing just the different brands of whiskey (my alcohol of choice), are those prices for a shot, a shot over the rocks, a shot with mixer?

I got a Mojito on my last cruise and it cost me $11.95 with the 15% gratuity. That was my one and only drink on that cruise. Those prices are outrageous.

Last May I was in Las Vegas at the Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino. At the lovely "Chandelier Bar" I ordered ONE GLASS of HOUSE Sauvignon Blanc.... $20 BEFORE tip! Considering that, the drink prices on the ship are a bargain! AND it's a vacation! It always costs to go on vacation. We don't drink enough to justify drink packages but I always save toward the ship board credit, allowing $50 a day for bar/specialty coffee tabs for DH and I.

I give us a shipboard credit a week before the cruise so I don't really stress about the drinks. We are not big drinkers... maybe an umbrella drink (me), and a sipping tequilla or cerveza (DH) in the afternoon, and a glass of wine at dinner... maybe once or twice during the cruise a foo-foo whipped cream topped coffee...

To us cruising is a luxury and one we save for, so no worries.

We only have 1 restaurant in town that charges in the $10 range for mixed drinks......needless to say, we don't "frequent" that place much!

You know if you go to a sporting event, that you'll pay thru the nose for a beer or drink...but it's only for a couple hours....on a ship, you're there for a week....and the prices are outrageous. Didn't used to be outrageous....but the are squeezing us for all we're worth nowadays.

Most of the bars in our area run about $3.50-$4 for beers...and about $5-6 for cocktails. Where we vacation on land charges $3.25 for beer and $4-5 for cocktails. I think that's reasonable.

Considering that I can get 12 year old single malt for what my local establishments charge for well "scotch" I think it's not a bad deal at all! Factor in the BOGO and it's one heck of a deal.

That's very reasonable, I won't argue. But seriously, where do you live? The neighborhood Italian restaurant my husband and I frequent charges $7 for wine and a solid $9 for a well drink. Way back in 2004 DH and I lived in Alexandria Minnesota and could get a glass of wine at the steak restaurant inside the Holiday Inn for $3.50, but that is a distant memory.

I'm really surprised by that price. The only thing I can think is you asked for a premium brand of alcohol as the regular cocktail prices are not 11.95.

A fellow Coppellian! Now I know you can get a drink for better than that at home :) but yes, in Dallas you're right.

I must say Princess drink prices are way better than Carnival.

Wheelhouse Bar..3 to 4 pm

Skywalkers 10 to 11 pm or 11 to Midnight (depends on ship)

The drinks are buy one get second one for a dollar

Good on all drinks $10.00 or under (the two need to be the same drink)

Standard price for "premium" cocktails is now $8.95 plus gratuity [emoji27]
I should have called them the Signature Cocktails. Whiskey Classics such as a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned are now $8.25. The same price for Vodka and Gin Martinis and Tequila Classics. For some reason, Rum Classics are only $7.95. Edited by IECalCruiser

Everything is relative.

This is from yesterday's NY Times restaurant review. Even the reviewer was outraged at this restaurant's prices and he would probably think Princess prices are a bargain: " A manhattan was $18, but a gin and tonic was $20. One night, my companion pointed to my $22 Moscow Mule and asked the bartender for something “just like his, but different.” One difference was its price, $24."

Living in a NYC suburb, I think Princess drink prices are reasonable. Of course, I could pour a drink at home much less expensively, but it wouldn't be as much fun!
