Looking for cruise that that ports every day

Recommended Posts

If you are looking exclusively Caribbean but want more variety than the seven day San Juan departures you might want to check out the British or European lines that turn around in Barbados or Jamaica. They similarly eliminate the sea days between Florida and the Caribbean ports.

Though a cruise with zero sea days is likely nowhere to be found. Sea days are essential to the profitability of the industry; port intensive cruises do not take in as much money in the casino, shops, spa or salon as those with several sea days--not to mention fewer people buying the drinks packages the ships hold so dear.

If you are willing to branch out, among the most port-intensive cruises in North America are the Canada/New England cruises from New York or Boston, running seven to nine days or more usually with only one sea day. And of course there is the NCL Pride of America in Hawaii, essentially using a cruise ship as a ferry between the islands (once you have flown to Honolulu).

Great sugestions, I will check theses out.

Thanks,

Tammy

We did an Alaska itinerary that had 4 ports in 7 days and have also researched the Med, which commonly has 5 ports in 7 days (only 1 sea day). DH loves port-intensive cruises too. (We also did the Southern Caribbean on Carnival from San Juan.)

We're doing a 10 day cruise on Oceania in the Caribbean and I believe we have 8 ports out of the 10 days. You won't find any line that has only port days, as every has at least one or two sea days in order to make money.

I love the ports and I want to be on board as little as possible. Would love to just sleep eat and shower. Then exploration of new places. Did carnival out of Puerto Rico like that. Loved but want new islands to explore.

NCL Pride of America cruises through the Hawaiian islands with no sea days. This is the one we'll be taking on May 2016.

It has to do with the distance the ships travel. The Caribbean is so far south that ships out of Miami have one or 2 sea days to reach their first island. This could change once Cuba can be included.

I had the exact same thought...my Mom and her friend did an NCL America cruise around the Hawaiian Islands several years ago (Pride of Aloha, since left the fleet), a new port every day, plus nearly an entire day for sightseeing around Honolulu on the last day. Got to see way more of Hawaii in a week than she could have ever hoped to do on a land-based vacation.

Although they're not all port days, our Tahitian cruise itineraries were pretty port intensive. You might want to look into it since you love islands and if you haven't explored that region. Princess has some good ones.
