midwestchick Posted February 5, 2016 #376 Share Posted February 5, 2016 Nancy, even if they are the same there is nothing to say these small items like this won't come on the ship later. If they stay speak to your cabin steward and ask him/her to change them for you. I actually quite like having the temperature on them and the time display is big. I think I might miss them! Phil On our last cruise, Tom accidentally broke our's. If anyone is in 734 on the Journey and the clock is different, you have him to thank. 👍 😜
Andy Posted February 5, 2016 Author #377 Share Posted February 5, 2016 (edited) Hi Everyone, As many members have been asking about the Patio evening menu, I'm going to try and post the menu. If it's not viewable, I will type it out, when I return home. FWIW, it took about 15 minutes just to upload and resize this one photo, to give you an idea of what it takes to make this happen. Please let me know if this works. Thanks ! Edited February 5, 2016 by Host Andy

mcomd508 Posted February 5, 2016 #388 Share Posted February 5, 2016 Hi Everyone, Here's the latest information on the questions asked : Laundry : Unfortunately, still not working yet, but they are hoping to have it working by Miami, or shortly thereafter. Club Ocean Suites (the forward suites) : 2 are now ready, the other 2 should be ready by Miami. BTW, I saw one of the suites this morning, and it's absolutely gorgeous. If you are booked in them, I'm confident you will be very pleased. If not ? I highly recommend considering them for your next sailing. I have about 10 photos, and will post them on this thread, on Sunday. Spa Suites : The plan is to have them ready by Miami, or shortly thereafter. Club World Ocean Suites : None of the 6 are currently ready. It does not sound as if they will be ready by Miami, but they are working very hard, and I'm hearing that additional workers will be boarding in Miami, solely to work on the CW suites. I think part of the problem is that some of the items did not make the ship when it was in Drydock. If I hear anything further, I will post on this thread. Casino : A team from Royal Caribbean will be onboard Sunday AM, and should have the ticket issue resolved by departure time. Hope this is helpful ! Thank you for posting, Andy. To me, this is a HUGE disappointment. Despite Azamara's weather excuse and the compensation offered to the guests on board, this just proves that they were really too ambitious with the dry dock schedule. Even after a 10 day cruise, they have not been able to finish the suites. Also, what seems to be the problem to get the laundry machines working? If they have just replaced the old ones, the hook-up should be a no-brainer, right? I personally do not care about free laundry bags, since I find that most cruise lines ruin your clothes either with harsh soaps or by putting all the clothes in the drier when you may choose not to. Booking and paying for a CWO suite (+ all the expenses with air fare) and arriving to a ship which will not offer me what I have chosen is a huge let down. I know some people will not agree and will call me a whiner, but when you are spending this kind of money, it's really disappointing. Thanks for keeping us updated anyways. Enjoy your cruise. Jim Avery Posted February 5, 2016 #389 Share Posted February 5, 2016 I agree that it is disappointing but this is what all ship lines do. Over promise and under deliver. Going back to my days running ships it was still the same. Plan much more at a dry-docking than is humanly possible. I always had workers on board for a period of time finishing up dry dock work. I remember the QE2 back in the '80s when they did a major refit including new engines. There were lots of unhappy/inconvenienced passengers on quite a few subsequent voyages. Nothing new. I am sure it will happen with the Quest as well. From a business standpoint, get the ships generating cash as soon as possible. A few hurt feelings and a little discount is a lot better than no income and heavy shipyard fees. Like they say in the movies: "Hey pal, no hard feelings, it's just business".:D

mcomd508 Posted February 6, 2016 #395 Share Posted February 6, 2016 (edited) Yes I do call you a whiner!!! Verstuurd vanaf mijn Nexus 6 met Tapatalk I'm sure you are not paying over 40K to go on a cruise and stay in a cabin category you do not want. Maybe that's why it's easier to point the finger and call me names. Azamara should have contacted their customers and offered full refunds if they couldn't place us in the cabins we paid for. I keep my point: Azamara screwed up with the dry dock time. Considering the ship is not ready 10 days past the official end date for the dry dock, just proves my point. Rare Familygoboston Posted February 6, 2016 #396 Share Posted February 6, 2016 Patio menu looks great! I do hope they get the laundry fixed- this was our first cruise with guest laundry, we've always done the bag of laundry, but we are some of those picky people who don't like our clothes washed in super heated water with super heated dryers, so we limit the bag to underwear and socks! Andy, do you have any thoughts about our boarding time this Sunday- do you think these projects will mean our embarkation will be delayed too? Enjoy your last day! One thing I would never do is spend over 40K on a cruise and not buy "cancel for any reason" insurance. If I felt about a cruise the way you seem to about this one, I would activate that insurance and move on.
