Momma Rene Posted June 1, 2016 #126 Share Posted June 1, 2016 The Welcome Aboard lunch is a nice benefit. I wish Celebrity would consider including AQ passengers or opening BLU up for lunch. Marie Totally agree, especially since many may not like the Bistro on 5 new menu offerings.
lakeeffect Posted June 1, 2016 #127 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Salmon lox was one of the thing we'd always get in the morning. Let's hope it's still there Still there on Reflection in Europe, both on the buffet and room service menu.
jmfdr Posted June 1, 2016 #128 Share Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) You now get "Welcome Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine with a commemorative label featuring exclusive art work" in Concierge, but " Welcome bottled water" in Aqua. Seriously? when something is listed as a perk when I book, I expect it to be there when I get to my cabin. If this isn't just another example of incompetence by the website team then it's a good way to alienate a lot of customers. I have been pondering this discussion about CC and AQ and finally called the Captain's Club to ask if AQ still receives all the services and amenities provided in CC class. The agent I spoke with assured me that all the CC benefits are still included in AQ staterooms. (including the New concierge services) That would mean that the welcome sparkling wine will also be waiting in AQ cabins----oh along with that one bottle of water. I choose to believe this agent rather than the incomplete web description. Edited June 1, 2016 by jmfdr

This thread and the one about Celebrity going downmarket are both very interesting, with a lot of ideas, opinions, thoughts, etc. It would be good for the company to see what we are thinking and saying. I don't think you will find a more comprehensive discussion of these topics anywhere else on the internet.

The history here is that they remove certain wording from the web site and may remove a perk at some point later. One of those things taken away was the unlimited bottles of water, just giving a bottle of water when you get on board is new wording. Also, you are the first to say that AQ gets all these new Concierge perks. Edited June 1, 2016 by dkjretired

It's one thing to make CC class more attractive by adding benefits specific to CC, another to make it more attractive by taking them away from AQ. I am doubting that after reading a new thread on Cruise Critic about what perks apply to AQ. Two recent cruisers reported that the new Concierge lunch was not open to AQ cabins. Tom Baker Posted June 2, 2016 #140 Share Posted June 2, 2016 Excuse my ignorance (I've never sailed Celebrity before) I've booked Concierge Class, so I'll be able to attend the luncheon, i understand that, in the email it states "Not only will you meet your fellow Concierge Class guests, but you’ll be introduced to your maître d’ who can assist you with any dining needs for your cruise. Need specialty dining reservations or changes to your main restaurant dining schedule? The maître d’ and his staff will make it happen." I have tried to book Select Dining but I am told it's full, there is a wait list and no one else can be added to the wait list, Celebrity have allocated me a time dining at 20.45. Will the Maître d change my reservation to Select dining if I ask because I am in a Concierge Class cabin or will I have to keep to the 20.45 sitting? Rare richstowe Posted June 2, 2016 #142 Share Posted June 2, 2016 I'm not too surprised that instead of welcoming these (minor) improvements , many are complaining that they are valueless and why isn't Aqua class also getting these perks . People are funny . Aqua still get all the CC perks they did before but not the new ones, which are the lunch in the MDR on embarkation day and the concierge that is especially for them. Somewhere on the RCI payroll there may be a chef who at some point was associated with a restaurant that at some point received a Michelin Guide star . I'm guessing " crafted " means spending no time actually cooking anywhere near a Celebrity ship . I guess it can't hurt .

Redtravel Posted June 3, 2016 #145 Share Posted June 3, 2016 Celebrity's new concierge perks sound good on paper. Unfortunately, they need some work. Celebrity is poor at telling concierge guests that there is lunch in the MDR. Nobody at checkin mentioned it. It was printed in small type inside the key folder. Being elite+, I just take the key card out and start using the seapass. I did go to the MDR for lunch( have done MDR lunch last year on Summit))and did have to show my seapass to the person at the door. My kids/grandkids were supposed to meet us there after they checked in. They got on the ship before us. They were in an ordinary line that went quickly. We were in a long slow moving line. My kids went to the MDR and were turned away. They went to the pool grill. We did meet up later after we all got into our cabins. They had a better lunch. MDR menu was unexciting. My spouse had the short ribs. I had the salmon. Both are items on the regular one week MDR dinner menu. The concierge lounge with a desk for the concierge is a joke. They took all the books out of the 8th floor library. There is a desk there for the concierge who visits once in awhile. Her schedule is vague. It should be listed on the door and followed. When I did ask her for info, she was clueless. Instead of just saying"I don't know", she gave me the wrong info. If there is to be a real concierge lounge, have a knowledgeable host. Also, why not provide coffee, soda, small snacks, etc. On other cruise lines and in many hotels, access to a concierge lounge is a real perk. If all you want is info, guest services is a good place to visit.

Cruise a holic Posted June 3, 2016 #147 Share Posted June 3, 2016 We have changed our dining times/table on a few occassions. The first thing you should do is go to the MDR and the maitre d meets with you and can adjust your reservation or table. The sooner you are on line the more likely you are to have the change made. Perhaps if he/she meets you at lunchtime in the diningroom that might expedite the change.

RICCruisers Posted June 3, 2016 #149 Share Posted June 3, 2016 Just off Solstice and had the Concierge lunch on embarkation. Have to say it was one of the best meals of the week. Not many choices for entrée. Only Branzino and Lamb Chops. The lamb was excellent-lots of meat and done to perfection. DW had the fish and agreed it was terrific. I was surprised there was no entrée salad option.
Hydrokitty Posted June 3, 2016 #150 Share Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) I thought Michelin made tyres, :eek:I prefer my meals (Calamari, etc) not to be rubbery. LOL....and judging by the Chef's menu on my last cruise, I think the meal was made by Michelin!!!! :D But I am thrilled not to have to eat off the buffet on embarkation day...last cruise it was all that was open and I spent 25 minutes walking around with a plate of food looking for a table for 4 of us to sit down and eat. I don't EVER want to have to so that again. Edited June 3, 2016 by Hydrokitty
