Need advice before buying CCL stock

Hello. I am planning on buying CCL stock soon. My question is when should I contact Princess for the OBC. I have one cruise that is 107 days out, a second cruise in April 2017 and a third cruise in March 2018. Does the credit show up on your cruise personalizer?

Is a copy of a brokerage statement with account number and other holdings blanked out okay? If anyone knows, what is the contact fax number for Princess to send this to?

Thanks for answering all my questions. Want to make sure I get the process straight before I buy. Regards.

A brokerage statement that you have copied and blacked out all information except your name, the number of CCL shares held, name of brokerage firm, and end date of statement period to show I still own the stock within 90 days of embarking is all I have ever used and has always been accepted by Princess. The credit will show up on your cruise personalizer under the tab for payments and credits.

The fax # is: (661) 756-0180

Mailing address is: 24303 Town Center Drive, Santa Clarita, CA 91355

When you fax, be sure you know the fax # it was sent from (like if you use the fax at Staples). If you need to call to ask why it hasn't been applied, they will need the date/time/fax#.

So often well-meaning folks buy CCL for the OBC somewhat like they would buy a lottery ticket, not realizing the different world that they are entering.

Buying CCL places you into the world of stock tickers, annual reports and boards of directors. It includes stock yields, dividends and shareholder credits.

And lots more that are too numerous to mention.

Cutting thru the chaff, please spend a few minutes at http://www.carnivalcorp.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=140690&p=irol-sharebenefit and explore this new world to which your stock ownership has led you.

Before you buy, you should also make sure it can be applied to your specif bookings, based on any possible sale/deal/perk you may have received. In a number of instances this benefit is not combinable with other offers.

You should contact them no later than 2 weeks prior to your sailing. We usually send it in about 45 days prior.

I do not doubt your statement, but we have never been unable to have the stockholder credit applied, even to a TA group-discount booking.

I thought the good thing about the CCL stock was that the shareholder benefit is almost always combinable with other offers. The only instances I've heard of people being denied the benefit have dealt with booking Interline rates and other heavily discounted fares not open to the general public. I had my shareholder benefit confirmation in about 30 minutes for our upcoming HAL cruise even though I booked it through a Flash sale.

You may be right - it's harder to do with RCCL stock.

Interline rates, sailing as a travel agent and possibly casino rates are about the only rates that do not qualify. The vast majority of pax are not affected by these limitations.

This application form explains the process for issuing the shareholder's non-refundable OBC.

The form is not required to be used but it does help them to receive complete submissions to quickly process our requests. Don't be concerned about the expiration date because each March it's extended for another year.

And I've read that the RCCL shareholder benefit is not combinable with other types of OBC but the CCL shareholder benefit is combinable with other types of OBC.

We have always been able to combine our CCL shareholder benefit with any other benefits we have received.

It is very simple--they need a copy of a brokerage statement dated no more than 90 days before embarkation and received no less than 14 days before embarkation proving that you own the stock. You do need to send this for each cruise. For B2B, we were able to list both cruise numbers and had no problem with having it applied to both.

You can use their form. Of you can simply create a cover letter with your name, booking number(s), sailing number, sailing date and mail of fax that with the brokerage statement. They typically process it within a few days and it does appear on the personalizer.

This has always been one of the easier things to accomplish. Just be sure you know where your monthly or quarterly statement is!

I once sent it in early only to have them mail it back wanting a later stock statement. :(

We have used it multiple times with Carnival, Princess, Costa, and Cunard and have never had it refused, except the one time when I sent it too soon and had to resend closer to our cruise date. Now I do not send it until after we have made the final payment. It is usually processed within a few days and will show up in your booking summary. Because we usually take 3-4 cruises a year it has really paid off for us.

Thank you all for such quick and informative replies. I plan on calling Princess to ensure eligibility of shareholder OBC before purchasing shares.

I appreciate your help. Regards.

Don't waste your time. You'll be fine. Just follow the steps above. ;)

RCI/Celebrity are the ones that are very, very particular about combinability, not Princess.

Completely different corporation and policies that have nothing to do with Princess or Carnival Corporation.

I didn't say they did.

The only world I entered was the one where I send in a copy of the stock statement before I go on a cruise. I think I have been doing that for at least 15 cruises. I do know I get a quarterly dividend, but I don't care about any of that other stuff.

We have always gotten our shareholders credit applied even when booking casino rates.

Make it easier on yourself by using a free online fax software like FaxZero.

You don't have to leave the house and you get an email notification they received it. I have been submitting it this way for years.
