“Live” – Alaska – Radiance of the Seas August 19, 2016 – Indecision Cruise

Recommended Posts

Your pics are fantastic. Your review is making me want to return to Alaska.

Was your Skagway excursion through the ship or did you book privately? We took the train but I don't remember getting off. Also, it was a roundtrip and I am thinking your tour is much more thorough.

Thanks for sharing your cruise with us.

It was with Chikoot Charters and Tours. Depending on when you started you either rode up on the bus and back on the rail or the opposite. It was 7 1/2 hours which gave us time to explore at the lunch/sled dog stop and in Carcross.

Oh the donuts --- they were so delicious, I could have eaten just them for lunch (kidding -- I enjoyed the chicken and coleslaw; not so much the wooden fork and knife:)).

Yup they were great donuts, I grabbed another for the road

Sorry I missed this earlier. The captain is Trym Selvag. He sounds like the captain that was here back in April when we were here.

He is the same captain from back in April.

Love all the photos. What a great idea to do a drive/train combination in Skagway. We rented a car and drove up to the Yukon. I think I might try that option next summer. You miss a lot of things by just doing the train.

Marie is cute as usual. Someone needs to take a couples picture of the 2 of you.

Yes he is the same captain as the Hawaii cruise.

Marie has many pictures of the two of us on her phone. I should pull a few over here.

Here's one. [emoji2]

Wow!! You really ARE having great weather for your trip!! Looks so nice to see

those pictures with real sun and not the rain, drizzle, and clouds we had!! Enjoy! :D

Loving your continuing review, and great photos!

That sour dough bakery in Carcross had some killer big (and totally delicious)

blueberry scones, plus the best salmon chowder we ever had!! :D

At Icy Strait, we walked into Hoonah on our way to the Office Bar for those

huge, fresh Dungenous crabs. Did you go there? I noticed your picture of the

front of the restaurant. We were rewarded with awesome views of four huge

Humpback whales that cruised slowly along the water front as we walked. Also

saw cute Otters playing along the beach. What a treat!

The zip line at ISP is one of the more expensive I've encountered, yet I still regret not doing it. Hope to make it back there some day so I can!

The zip line is a bit pricey, but it was so much fun. Of course, when you get up there and they strap you in and you have that quick flash thru your mind of "what have I gotten myself into this time!!??!! The ride was amazing and I don't like heights.

Great picture of the both of you.

I so want to do Alaska, but not ready for a "cold" cruise at this time.

Enjoying your pictures, thanks for sharing.

It was fun seeing the few pictures of the ship, brought back great memories from the Hawaiian cruise. :)

Those crab legs look delicious :). Where is Annabelle's? On the ship?

Glad you enjoyed the flight with Michelle, even though it means quite the cruise's end :(

Annabelle's is in downtown Ketchikan.

It has been a great time but this will be our only Alaska cruise primarily due to the cold. And we have had better than average weather. :)

Taking advantage of a quiet morning at sea to catch up on yesterday. We were in Ketchikan and once again it was a chamber of commerce day. It reached the low 70s with gorgeous blue skies.

We started the day walking around downtown so Marie could shop.
