Suite tendering

DH seems to think that suite passengers can get off the ship on earlier tenders even if they aren't on ship excursions? This is our first time in a "real" suite and I'm trying to arrange a dive trip while we're in Phuket on the Diamond.

Yes, priority disembarkation at tender ports for full suites.

Depending on the number of people eligible for priority tendering (to shore only, not return to ship), there are two possibilities.

a) If there not not too many people eligible, just follow the signs to the tender area and get on the back of the line that is there.

b) If there are too many people eligible, you will be asked to go to a meeting place (likely a dining room) to get tender tickets. When you enter the room, make it known you have priority and they will send you to the proper area in that meeting place. You will still get off the ship faster than those without priority. If this is the way it will be done, you will be notified of the process, either in the Patter or by a letter to your cabin.

I'm sailing in one of the new Club Level Mini-Suites on the Regal in January. These are listed as priority disembarkation, so does this also pertain to tender ports too?

No what you are referring to is the priority lounge available on the last day of the cruise, not to tendering

Don't overlook breakfast at Sabatini's. It's a major reason we book a full suite on Princess.

The other perk we use is ordering from the MDR menu and having meals delivered to the suite though out the cruise. It's not as nice as having a butler on Celebrity but still works for our 't-shirt and jeans' cruising style.

You will have priority tendering, but you may not be able to get on the very first tenders. These may be full with those on Princess tours. You will most likely have to report to a DR to que in a priority area, but it will go pretty quickly once they get the tenders going.

We just returned from a suite on the Ruby. We received priority tender tickets for suites in an envelope with a letter in our cabin. For SUITES only you go whenever you want directly down to the tender embarkation site and show them the tickets and get on.

Good to know, thanks! I was actually glad to hear we weren't going to have a butler, I'm too OCD to let someone else unpack for me [emoji12]

Speaking of other perks, I was just about to order cases of water, but the hubs says maybe bottled water comes free in the suite?

As stated in the mini bar and you can trade put for waters if you want.

If you order any (12 packs) it must be done before sailing.

Cannot order the deal onboard.

Re Elite/Suite priority tenders. Just off Island Princess, there were 1100 Elites on board, at the one and only tender port, those included Elites/Suites who did not purchase ship's tours also had to wait in a lounge of their own for tendering, via ticket system. As a result non Elites waited 4 or 5 hours to get off.

NSWP;

Odd tha suites and elites were together since that was not the case on the Ruby. Suite guests could go whenever they wanted to the front of the line to get into the tender. There were tickets in the cabin to use.

Elites had to wait but not suites.

Wonder if it is different on each shape. Once again Princess not setting rules that all could follow to be consistent.

We have had a couple of cruises (Island Nov 2015) now where we were in a suite/Elite and directed to the DR to wait in an area near the door. We were then taken down on a group. We were not allowed to go directly to deck 4 on our own.

On other cruises Elites were always included with suites when priority tendering. The Ruby was one of them.

Seems the Island may be somewhat consistant.

As usual every ship seems to have their own twist on many things, and even that keeps changing.

That is half the passengers who were Elite/Suite on that sailing.

No way it would have worked by having them head directly to deck 4.

Thanks, I think I'll keep the mini bar for rum/coke for DH and vodka tonics for me and order the water.
There isn't any rum in the mini bar. It's whiskey, brandy, gin, vodka, beer, Coke, Sprite, tonic water, sparkling water, and bottled water. I traded in the whiskey and beer for Perrier and the Coke and Sprite for Diet Coke last week on the Caribbean Princess. We received San Pellegrino instead of Perrier with the original setup.

Exactly, that is why they had a seperate ticketed tender lounge for Elites. We had a shorex did not impact on us.

Couple things:

1. You can also order 375 ml (half of a fifth) of Bacardi White for $17.50. We do it for DW's convenient rum and cokes while preparing for dinner. Really not that outlandish considering.

2. Suite priority tendering is hit or miss based on crew since we were on three separate Royal cruises in a Full Suite tendering to Princess Cays each time. First time we were told to go straight to the Tender area, great. Second time we did the same and we were politely, but firmly, escorted by security back to the mass dining room and given a priority number, not bad. Third time we went to the dining room and we were given the same number that everyone else was getting which was three tenders after we entered. Each time we showed our Suite cabin cards.

So, go in hoping for the best and go with the flow.

Safe Journeys, Paul
