sworksjr Posted December 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2016 I see a lot of posts referencing DH. I figured out that it refers to your cabin mate, but I can not figure out what it stands for. Deck hand comes to mind, but I don't think my wife would appreciate being called my deck hand. What does DH stand for? (Stupid question from CC newbie :))

sworksjr Posted December 10, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted December 10, 2016 I haven't seen any DW posts. Maybe I just haven't read enough. Also the DH sometimes seems like it might be a little sarcastic.
navybankerteacher Posted December 10, 2016 #7 Share Posted December 10, 2016 As in many languages, the meaning of words varies with context and tone of voice: anywhere from "darling husband" to "dumb hump".

fishywood Posted December 10, 2016 #9 Share Posted December 10, 2016 Interesting!! We need a glossary :') Found in the Cruise Critic FAQ's: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/faq.php?faq=vb3_reading_posting#faq_acronyms If this is all new to the OP certainly googling 'message board acronyms' would also find a wealth of information. dennbr9 Posted December 11, 2016 #21 Share Posted December 11, 2016 Dear; darling; dumb; doting; ditzy; (insert favorite "d" word here) husband. Similar applies to DW, same idea only Wife[emoji6] DD. Dear Daughter, etc SIL. Son in Law,etc DB Dear Brother, etc IMO. In My Opinion( Could be IMHO for us humble folks[emoji41]) Gets Confusing with TA. Depends on context. Travel Agent or Trans-Atlantic. Shmoo here Posted December 11, 2016 #23 Share Posted December 11, 2016 Usually, Travel Agent uses capital letters: TAwhereas transatlantic uses lower case letters: ta I never noticed that. I use caps for TransAtlantic (when I use initials - I don't always). Guess I've been confusing some people.
Rare mom says Posted December 11, 2016 #24 Share Posted December 11, 2016 I never noticed that. I use caps for TransAtlantic (when I use initials - I don't always). Guess I've been confusing some people. Imagine the confusion if they did TA charters for TAs. TATAs would have a whole new meaning.
Rare Lionesss Posted December 11, 2016 #25 Share Posted December 11, 2016 To the OP DH For me Dear Husband Because when I ask him to get something right in front of his face and he cannot find it......................
