The laundry bags are decent sized; we were able to fit several pairs of pants, a few shirts, and assorted small items. 3. Past cruisers' reception. These have been of variable quality, and on a line that is all-inclusive anyway, the added value is somewhat diminished. But, nice to have. 4. One-category upgrade (if available, doesn't get you into a suite, etc). Have never had this happen, as we have always booked the highest non-suite or an actual suite. 5. Complimentary in-room fruit platter. Not a big deal. NB: Uniworld is part of Red Carnation (a hotel chain). If you've ever stayed in one of those properties, you can get at least some of these benefits, even if it's your first Uniworld cruise. Caveat: only #1 seems to apply on Non-European cruises. Nevertheless, ewizabeff reports that all of the perks were available to her on an Asian cruise. Caveat 2: These benefits can be combined with AMEX Platinum cruise privileges, and the AMEX benefits supposedly apply to non-European cruises as well. Rare franski Posted January 14, 2017 #28 Share Posted January 14, 2017 Apparently Emerald will be offering the same PP incentive of $200 pp on your 2nd trip. However, the previous trip must be with Emerald - and not with Scenic (although it is the parent company...). I haven't found this on their website... but did have an opportunity to chat with one of the senior staff at a travel show, and this is the information he gave me. Canal archive Posted January 15, 2017 #30 Share Posted January 15, 2017 Thank you FuelScience, just on the Scenic side there are some very, very slight differences from country to country. There is also a new category, 'Emerald' an additional £50.00 per person off your next cruise + £50.00 credit for the Wellness Centre, upgraded hotel where available, multiple access to all dining venues and a welcome home hamper for trips of over 20 days. Hope this helps your excellent list, of perks that we pay for, oops is that cynical or what. CA

bubbulz Posted January 16, 2017 #32 Share Posted January 16, 2017 (edited) On my second Uniworld trip I also received a small duffel bag. Sparky333 Posted January 18, 2017 #40 Share Posted January 18, 2017 Nice thread FuelScience - thanks for doing all the legwork! One Viking perk you show is no longer given: "Premier Tier (After 3 trips) Complimentary Viking Air Plus services" I just called them to find out after reading about it here because I paid $50/pp to use Air Plus the other day and have taken 3 cruises with them and am a member of the Explorers Society (). The rep said unfortunately that's no longer offered. If you've booked a suite Air Plus is complementary but not given as a perk to past travelers. Rare jpalbny Posted August 17, 2017 #44 Share Posted August 17, 2017 Ah, I fell down on the job. Sorry about that! From the India cruise... We had the AMEX privileges on the India cruise as well. It was hard to use. But we did. I can't report on the laundry perk because we were in a suite and that included unlimited laundry. They did have a past cruisers reception on board the Ganges River cruise. Sent from my SM-G930T using Forums mobile app

With regards to complimentary upgrades, this is not up to the hotel manager.Any complimentary upgrades are assigned by the Vantage operations team.Upgrades are first offered for a discount prior to being given up as complimentary. If at all available, the operations team then assigns complimentary upgrades at their discretion factoring in highest president club status per cabin category, business class passengers, VIP passengers, total paid on the trip etc.I am sorry that the complimentary upgrade was not available to you at the time. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback.Your comments are important to us, in our ongoing efforts to improve our quality and service levels. We certainly do appreciate your loyalty to Vantage and hope you have great memories of seeing the world with us.We hope to welcome you back Kind regards, Bethlehem Abebe Customer Care Correspondent How can we help you: I was a little disappointed with my experience with the Hotel Manager on the River Navigator this July. This was my 11th cruise with Vantage and as a President Club Member one of the benefits is a cabin upgrade if one is available. On this particular cruise there were 3 vacant cabins. I ask the Hotel Manager if I could upgrade to one of the vacant cabins. He stated he would have to contact Vantage main office for approval and he would get back to me. After the third day and not hearing anything from him, I asked him what the status of my request was. He replied "If there was good news I would have contacted you". He gave no reason why I couldn't upgrade. What good is it being a President Club member if they don't honor the benefits. I feel that that he acted in a totally non-professional way. The staff constantly stresses that everything is "excellent on board"
MikeyB Posted August 24, 2017 #46 Share Posted August 24, 2017 Sgt- Do you know if anyone received an upgrade to the vacant cabins? It's seems that Vantage does not appreciate your brand loyalty. I favor Viking, and would be very disappointed if they did the same. After all, there are many companies river sailing today.
Rare pontac Posted August 24, 2017 #47 Share Posted August 24, 2017 (edited) Viking UK benefits after first river cruise Enrolment in Explorer Society which gives you £100 per person off price of future trips zero charge for using credit cards Invite to Society cocktail party on board with unlimited drinks & nibbles* Gifts mailed to home (set of Occidental products, cookery book, book on Vikings, keyrings etc) Chance of cabin upgrade - happened twice for us Invites to events sponsored by Viking (we got tickets to The Game Fair worth £29 each, and then given mulitple pours of Prosecco in Viking's marquee). Emailings about discounted trips - we booked one we were offered at half price while website showed it at full price. * on our first trip we looked on enviously as about 20 people went past signs saying private function to the Acquavit Lounge for their Society party; on the last trip there were fewer than 20 people who didn't have an invite! CPT Trips Posted August 24, 2017 #48 Share Posted August 24, 2017 Grand Circle perqs - any previous traveler gets the referral reward. It's a real check, not a credit, for the referrer. Inner Circle members get access to the custom air service at no charge. On our Vantage cruise, a honeymoon couple were upgraded to the large suite from a regular suite when they boarded. Apparently it had nothing to do with "loyalty."
beejay9503 Posted September 5, 2017 #49 Share Posted September 5, 2017 On my second Uniworld trip I also received a small duffel bag. That was a number of years ago, so I don't know if they still do it. We just received a Uniworld tote bag. Zippered. Nice to carry home some purchases on shopping excursions.
