May I ask what your bid was for the AFT? Poor, Fair, etc?

 

We bid $150 over the minimum for an Aft Suite, which is still over $1000 less than the book price. My travel agent put in the comments that we preferred the AFT to the Forward suite. (She had the Forward Suite and said it was very loud and windy- and in Alaska, got chilly inside)

 

We bid $100 for the mini-suite and the balcony rooms, which was about $50 over the minimum.

One more question, sorry, did the AFT start at 750? Can you recall :confused:

 

Afts (H6) for my sailing (4/29) start at 750.

gotcha, my bid starts at 400.00 for front facing, 750 for aft, and 1000 for 2 bedroom villa - seems high :o

 

I bid about half of what I would pay to just upgrade from my balcony to an SJ on the Dawn. If I paid outright to upgrade it would be just over $1,200 total so I bid $620 total.

I am sailing on Breakaway on 5/29 from Coepnhagen. Originally had booked Sailaway Mini Suite. Just received an upgrade to Forward Facing Penthouse (H7). Winning bid was $1020 pp. That is still $3K less than what I would have paid for booking this cabin upfront.

 

Posting my bid amounts below which may perhaps help someone (though of-course bids would vary for different sailings).

 

Placed bid on all Haven categories on offer. My bids were: Haven Courtyard (H5) at $750 pp, Forward Facing Penthouse (H7) at $1020 pp, Aft Penthouse (H6) at $1120 pp, Double Bedroom (H4) at $1260 pp, Owner's Suite (H3) at $1510 pp and Deluxe Owner's Suite (H2) at 1760 pp. Only H7 bid was in the middle of fair section as I was most interested in that. And that's what I got!

 

Before my upgrade got processed, there were 3 H7 suites, 1 H6 suite, 3 H5 suites and 9 H4 suites and 1H3 suite available. After processing of upgrades, current availability is 1 H7 suite, 1 H6 suite, 1 H5 suite, 4 H4 suites. H3 is sold out. Hopefully this helps somebody. :)

Well, I just looked at the upgrade page, and there are no more SC, SE or SF suites left. So then I checked my credit card, and nothing extra has been charged. But I haven't gotten an denial email, so I am still hoping!!

I too did that little “mock” room check to see what was sold out and it says all the suites are sold.. does this mean we won’t get an upgrade? We set sail next Friday. Next year, we sail the breakaway an want to do the Haven. We sailed last month on the 10th on escape and did a balcony. We did a low big to upgrade and didn’t get it at all.

So I did a mock booking for my cruise 4/22 on the escape and it says all havens are sold out. This morning they were available so it looks like they might have already finished those upgrades today since there were at least 8-10 available this morning. Has anybody on that booking heard back today?

We received our upgrade for the Escape on the 22nd around noon.

You would get an e-mail, check your spam box as well, but you won't get one until 90 days or so prior to your cruise. If I'm wrong about when the invites arrive please someone correct me.

You will receive an invitation to upgrade via email sometime around 80 days prior to sailing. You will also be able to do so from the main page of your My NCL website once upgrade bidding has opened for your sailing.

Saturday is the 21st, you will either be late or early... So, what did you find out??

Ha ha so it is. I keep thinking I am leaving Saturday because I am but the cruise is not until Sunday. I shared in an earlier post that I got a Haven upgrade.

Just heard we got our upgrade on the 4-21 Gem sailing. Went from a Free CAS inside cabin to a balcony cabin for 125.pp. YAY!!
I am on the Gem 04-28 on a casino certificate. I upgraded to a balcony when I booked. I have bid on suite and haven upgrades. Your post gives me a little hope!! Thanks for posting!!
