Life jackets by the pool!

We were recently on Carnival's Sunshine. I saw a rack of life jackets, 4 sizes, next to the pool, all sizes starting with a 5-7 year old size all the way to an adult size. Any other ships have these? These are great even for adults who aren't comfortable in water not just kids!

On our Allure sailing I have seen the life jackets on a rack by the childrens pool play area.

Are they for use in the pool or for emergency situations ??

We saw kids sizes in a rack by the pool on the Celebrity Eclipse recently.

They are for the pool. RCI, I believe, has started this for all ships. Carnival has just started, and haven't rolled it out completely yet.

I suppose it is a good idea. Has anyone seen them being used much by children in the pool? I suspect it may lead more parents to just drop off children and not watch them closely - the sort of unintended consequence many good ideas seem to generate.

They have them on the Triumph. I saw many mothers using them on their younger children while they were in the pool. A great idea.

DCL has had them for a couple of years.

Have never seen them on any HAL ships.

This is a good idea. I wonder if the cruise lines will have life vests for adults too. I've seen some very weak swimmers, or should I says rocks, in those pools. :eek:
