Towel animals??

You will probably be disappointed. We are currently on our 16th Celebrity cruise and have probably had a towel animal a total of 10 times in all our cruises on X.

I think you will find other little touches on Celebrity that you will like as well or better than towel animals.

We had towel animals on the Constellation in 2015; and that was my last Celebrity cruise. It's been my experience that the room stewards always ask for any special requests...this is something you can ask them for! We will be on Equinox in March and I plan to ask for them. :D

Since X likes to be a green ship, wasting/laundering towels to make animals doesn't fit the image they want.

And not all staff knows how to do them. Newer members aren't trained, so they'd have to find someone who will make them up for them.

With the downsize of room stewards now only one, I doubt we will be seeing too many more of these delightful surprises.:(

There has not been a tradition of towel animals on Celebrity. I think out of twenty sailings on Celebrity over twenty years I had towel animals only once. I think that might have been a "rogue" cabin attendant.

One steward explained to me that it's not anything Celebrity teaches, so if you get one, it's likely from someone who worked for a different line. They are not discouraged from leaving them (or weren't at the time), but it's not part of the Celebrity experience. I view them as tacky at worst and kitschy at best.

Thank you for your replies! I will ask for them on our cruise next month. If we get them, great! If not, it surely won't ruin my cruise. At 50 years old, I find them fun and entertaining! It's like, hmmm....wonder what surprise will be awaiting us when we get to our room!!

There is nothing extraordinary about Celebrity or their "green" property, nor do they market it. All hotels and cruise lines request you reuse towels because it is cheaper to do so and of course also saves water, I doubt this is related to the company image in any way whatever.

Towel animals were always much more of a Royal C thing...although it seems alot of Royal C things are making their way to X these days

while they are cute we never liked them being adorned with our personal sunglasses, caps etc...

I don't know about R.C. so much as I've only cruised with them once. I DO know that Princess, Disney, Carnival, Norwegian and HAL all do/did towel animals. In that sense, Celebrity needs to get with it. Guess if one doesn't appreciate the animals they could ask to exclude them in their staterooms. I see them as a bonus as well as smile worthy. Everyone needs a smile now and then.😊😊

Celebrity does not need to get with it. They are tacky. I always considered it a feature and sane that Celebrity does not do them. The cabin attendent should not be wasting time on them. If you want them cruise on those downscale cruise lines that do them. On my last Royal Caribbean cruise I happened to look under the bed, I was going to put one of my cases there. I couldn't because there were a bunch of towel animals already made up ahead of time. The poor cabin attendent was making them in advance to get them done and reusing them. Good grief.

Wow! Quite the elitist you must be. Have you sailed on Disney? HAL? And you think they would be considered downscale cruiselines? Hmmm.....

Towel animals are downscale. Not professional. Saying that is not being elitist. Celebrity is definitely a cut above HAL. HAL was the last to ban balcony smoking and they still allow smoking in the casino. So they are downscale from Celebrity. I have sailed on many lines and never wanted the towel animals. Some of them were very well done and did make me smile but I didn't want them. Or like them using my sunglasses and other personal items to enhance them. All the cruise lines don't have to be cookie cutter so just because other cruise lines do them does not mean Celebrity should.

If towel animals are important to you, Celebrity is probably not the cruise line for you. They don't generally do them and you should not have an expectation that is going to change. It is not their style.

Not Princess, at least not in the last 20 years.
