Priority tender tickets?

We have one tender port on our upcoming Reflection cruise. In looking at Captain's Club info on the newly redesigned Celebrity web page, I don't see priority tickets as a benefit. Is it still in effect?

At some levels you can receive priority consideration for wait listed excursions, but not priority for tendering. I'm pretty certain that's still first come first serve. Also, you don't need tickets to take the tenders.

Priority if you are elite

I'm aware of that. The OP didn't say what tier level they are but I figured they must be at least Elite based on the question. That's why I copied and pasted the Elite benefits.

I have noticed before that they have attempted to do away with the elite (and above) priority tendering. We were in a two hour line to get onto a tender in a port a couple of years ago. When I asked what happened to our priority tickets, they said they were no longer doing this and we just had to wait our turn.

Well, that was resolved rather quickly as the next port on the same cruise, we received our priority tendering. I think there must have been many complaints. I hope they never try to take that away again!

By the way, I notice that the complimentary pressing of 2 garments no longer seems to be listed. I sure used the heck out of that benefit. I hope it was just another oversight on their part.

I'll let you know after our September Cruise.

Excursions booked with the cruise line get priority as called

The tickets are used for the first tenders...thus priority. Open tendering after that does not require tickets

So many are Elite /Diamond now that the priority tender ticket to port may or may not be that helpful.. On past cruises we had to wait in line to get the passes.

Best bet is to book an excursion..they get off early

We rarely tender any more. Last time we were on Reflection, we stayed on board. While having lunch at B on 5 we heard them call for "open tendering" around 1 p.m.

Alot depends on the port and sea conditions but Ref has alot of pax and on that day it was obviously running very slow.

Also everyone pretty much lines up equally to get back to the ship

The pressing of 2 garments is mentioned as a select benefit - elite gets all select benefits Plus more

With Elite tickets, we have had some great tendering experiences and some delayed ones. In Nice, we waited in Celebrity Central with about 100 people and were given numbered tickets in exchange for our tender tickets. They would call a number every 10 minutes or so and a few more would file out. I think we waited about 30-45 minutes and then lined up to get on a tender. We had left a little early and it was a private tour so the guide waited for us. I'm not sure that we saved any time over someone who just lined up in the tender line, but at least were not standing for the whole time in line.

We have gotten suite tender tickets as well (and they also gave them to people we were traveling with). I think we waited in Tuscan one time and it was only for about a minute and then were escorted to the tender and got right on.

For our Med cruise in September we have 2 tendered ports and booked private tours. We left plenty of time to get off the ship before we are due to meet our tour guides and only booked 4-5 hour tours so that we would get back before the last tender.

Looking forward to the Edge Western Carib cruise going to Grand Cayman in Jan, 2019. I usually hate tendered ports, but can't wait to try out the Destination Gateway and Magic Carpet tendering experience and ride in the new launches with "bucket seats, air conditioning, large windows for stunning sea-level views, and more space, they are designed to get you to your destination in modern-luxury style every step of the way, right up to your first step ashore." It sounds so nice I may just ride back and forth all day! :D

Tender tickets never were given out for return to the ship.

Just a heads up. We were on the Reflection in Grand Cayman this past January with FIVE other ships. Each ship only had a couple of their own tenders in the water. The port was running larger "on loan" tourist boats for transport as there wasn't enough room for all the ships' tenders to dock at the port. Elite members met with the Captains Club rep and were escorted to a tender--but only once. Then the ship tours went, then the people that stood in line for tender tickets. The "open" tendering was announced THREE hours after the tendering started. And, the seas were pretty rough. :(

Ugh! Doesn't sound like fun. Hope we have better luck when we are there.

We had no problems in Grand Cayman. They did announce tender tickets being available but when you went to pick them up, we were asked if we were ready to go ashore and if we were, to head down to the tenders. No need for tickets. There were two departure locations and the tenders were these bigger ferry ships from Grand Cayman. Very easy return to ship and no waiting.

The benefit of priority tendering appears to be similar to express luggage delivery....

You might want to research how many ships will be in town (whatsinport). It was a mob scene--not what I expected. We did not meet with the CC rep since we were "jocking it up" at the gym. We just thought it would open up in an hour or so...bad decision on our part.

You do need tender tickets at some places. We left Moorea several days ago and we needed the tickets. They then call you by your group number. If you get off the ship later than first thing in the morning then you won't need them.
