Dumb things people do that get them kicked off a cruise

Recommended Posts

One my last cruise a father and son got into a fight late night in the casino. Rumour has it that both had been enjoying their beverages and started a disagreement. Chairs were thrown and then bags were packed........off they went at the next port.

I was on a cruise once when laundry rage got 2 couples thrown off at the next port.

On another some young ones got a shock as they were escorted down the gangway at the next port after a food fight on deck .

Neither were aware that the cruise line absolved themselves of all responsibility for them once they were ashore .

They had to fend for themselves.

One man was so upset that he missed out on buying a piece of art that he stormed up to the artwork at the end of the auction and punched a hole threw it...... Must have really liked that painting. He certainly had to pay for it after that.

One honeymoon couple who were on a cruise ran into trouble when the young husband sat on the rail of the ship. He was disembarked in Vila and had to find his way home. Because this was at their own cost and they didn't have much spare money, the wife stayed on the ship. She upset other passengers by moaning about how much it would cost him to get home and she kept asking people to buy her drinks.

On one of our cruises, a married couple got into a fight and the wife hit her husband over the head with a drink bottle. They were both disembarked when we were off Mooloolaba. I was told that a Police boat came out to get them, but I am not sure on this. I am doubtful that the Pilot's boat would take them on their boat. I imagine if the Police came to get them, they would charge one or both of them with assault

On our Rhapsody transpacific on the first full day a couple were very annoyingly drunk and were doing cannonballs into the Solarium pool. Confined to their cabin and put off the ship at the first port. They never made Hawaii!

On Sun Princess in 2008, when she first arrived in Australia. We were on Circumnavigation cruise. 2 couples started 'laundry rage' arguments, fisticuffs in laundry, stopped by security, warned. The blue carried on for a couple of days after that when they saw each other. Put off ship at Broome.

Good riddance. Yes laundry rage is common on the ships, at various levels of course.:halo:

One memorable trip we did was our second cruise and the first on the old PAC Sun in 2010 about 28 passengers got booted off the ship on that trip.

The first didn't make out of the Sydney heads and got put off on the pilot boat apparently something inappropriate in his bags.

A group of kids got put off at Noumea - males and females behaving inappropriately in the spa bath under a security camera and there were others.

But the classic incident happened when a group got booted off at Mystery island. We were on the island at the edge of the airstrip with a large group when a twin engined plane landed. Now the MI airport has a terminal about the size of a funny block and we noticed tickets through one of the windows. We looked over at the tender jetty to see a group of passengers being escorted over to the plane with their bags by security.

As the passengers boarded the aircraft one of the passengers gave the onlookers the bird - with that one lady in our group who was very loud and saw this yelled out at the top of her voice "the dirty b%##^ give it back to them" with the result that the hundred or so of us lined up at the and of the airstrip gave the plane the finger.

We later learned that the passengers were involved in a classic case of laundry rage a couple of nights before that got completely out of hand got secured in their cabins and got put off at the next port which happened to be MI not only would they have had to pay for the flight from MI to the nearest international airport but they would have had to find their way home from there.

What happened was a case of laundry rage at night that got completely out of hand.

The old PAC Sun was a rust bucket but what a memorable trip that was and one of the best we have done.

I hate the self serve laundries on ships I was involve in one incident on the Aria and couldn't get out of it fast enough - not my fault though. I've heard of stories about punch ups and arguments going on in them that get completely out of hand - the next trip we do we will be elite status and our laundry will be done for us - yeah[emoji846]

This is pretty disgusting - but....

Sea Princess 26 Day SE Asia in Oct 2016 - on the return leg from Singapore, the main pool had to be emptied a few times due to the presence of fecal matter.

Captain made a few public announcements on how he had never seen anything like this in 30+ years at sea, and how they would track the culprits down (security video etc). Turns out it was a young teen as a result of a dare - switched on kids club staff helped piece together the story from various snippets they got out of of the group of kids involved.

Family was thrown off in Bali.

Just gross!

Way to go, love that complimentary Elite laundry, more to spend on vino and no exposure to laundry rage, which appears to be rampant. They should have a supply of 'chill pills' in them there ship's laundromats.:halo:

With the incident on the Aria I diligently sat in the laundry while our clothes were being dried when without warning to my surprise a lady opened the drier door and started rummaging through my clothes and then when I realised that the laundry basket from our cabin had been lifted in front of my eyes I was out of there faster than a proverbial Bondi Tram thankfully our steward was understanding and replaced the basket. But there is no way you will, get me back into a ships laundry again.

There is a classic story doing the rounds about a lady who had a rather expensive dress nicked from one of the ships laundries . She notified security and kept an eye open for anyone wear it. Sure enough she saw someone wearing what appeared to be the missing dress notified security and was able to prove the dress was hers - the offender got booted off at the next port.

On-board rumours are part & parcel of cruising, so many times, apart from the actual persons involved, the real story may never been known about people being put off the ship.

On one cruise, in a cabin close to ours, a security guy was posted outside the cabin, with the door partially open. Whispers went around the ship speculating what had happened. We asked our steward & he advised that the passengers "had got into trouble". The unsubstantiated story was that the couple had got somewhat drunk, had a disagreement & a lamp & mirror had been broken. The woman had been moved elsewhere and the man was the one restricted to the cabin. After the next port, there was no security guy at the cabin door.

On our cruise from Honolulu to Sydney there was some issue involving two teenage boys. Rumours spread about what had happened & that both families would be put off the ship at the next port. On our day in Pago Pago we saw security escort a family of 5 with their luggage down the ramp & onto land. I can only imagine the logistics & cost of getting from American Samoa to Sydney.

I overheard a passenger recounting how she got her revenge on another passenger who jumped the queue in the laundry for a dryer...she went directly to the shop on board and purchased a chocolate bar which she merrily unwrapped and place into the queue jumpers dryer...

Two wrongs do not make it right. That is just bad form.

I could tell you a story about someone pooing in the pool something similar but they were not kicked off.

Had a family kicked off in Tahiti (Bora Bora) due to a son (under aged) getting drunk, blabbed about where he got the alcohol which was from the father's card with drink package. when the parents were confronted the father got physical and subsequently both the father and son were to be booted off, the wife/mother and daughter/sister went with them.
