Top three things besides price or ports

What are the top three things that are most important to you besides price or ports

visited ? Just curious. For me it is cabin quietness, cleanliness, and

if a problem were to arise confidence it would be taken care of (we have had

problems and NCL has always been good about addressing them (think toilet

flushing issues, etc.)

1 embarkation port (e.g. Love to visit some of the ports the Joy calls at, but don't rally want to travel to china, specifically to board the ship).

 

2 ship. We would repeat a cruise on a new ship (as we are doing with the Bliss). We were on "inaugural" cruises on the Breakaway, Getaway, and Escape.

 

3 duration. As we are not quite retired, 7-8 days is the longest we want to be on a cruise away from work. E.g., it is easier to get coverage at work for multiple 7-day cruises a year vs a 14 day cruise.

2. The time both my wife and I can get a matching vacation week

3. Ease of getting to the embarkation/disembarkation port

Cost of airfare and length of time in connecting airport

1. Amount of time I ports. More the better.

 

2. Activities for adults. Like things like the go carts and laser tag that the Bliss will have.

 

3. Activities for kids. Kids programs are important, but also have things the kids can do outside of the program.

For me, pleasant experience with crew, cleanliness of the ship, and attitude of fellow pax...

 

Price is only important to me b/c I'm now a solo cruiser, destinations are very important though since I have so many places still on my bucket list... darn thing keeps growing... ;p

1) Stuff to do on the ship (did several Princess cruises - boring!)

2) Included perks - the UBP is NICE!

3) Dates - I like to get away from Michigan winters, not sail in the summer. Friends we sail with also have school schedules to deal with.

 

Bonus! Embarkation port - our last cruise sailed from NYC, which was amazing. Even though it violates #3, we're planning another this spring.

1. Service - it's a vacation for us...not them.

 

2. Stateroom (size, condition, features, location) - I pick a specific stateroom for many reasons.

 

3. Fellow passengers - Even if 99% of the passengers are great, 1% would be dozens of potential trouble-makers. I don't want to deal with any obnoxious or inconsiderate cruisers (looking at you, Carnival).
