Rare Lionesss Posted November 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2017 Will be there a week from today, have not been there in 20 years and this is my 1st visit in a suite (GS) i heard there is a suite beach and barbeque , anything else I should know? thanks First of all congrats on your suite experience. When you leave the ship and get to the end of the pier there will be golf cart taxis that drive you to suite beach check in, so have your sea pass card visibly handy for them to see. If you want to walk you turn right at the golf carts and it is a leisurely 10 min. walk. Once at the gate you check in and get wrist bands. Some times the wrist bands were in our suite and we put on before we left the ship, other times we got at gate. Once there a personal attendant is assigned to you. He will get you to the beach loungers you want and get you floaties for free, and if you want to snorkel he will escort you to the hut to get them...................they no longer can get them for you, guess people were taking them. A basic bar that provides drinks if on drink package if not, water. Once we forgot our towels and he got them. We usually camp out under the three trees on the right. At about 11 am the buffet opens. Tables near by to sit on. We have in the past enjoyed shrimp on the grill, steaks hamburgers hot dogs salads ribs corn on the cob potatoes veggies with all the toppings. The desserts are average. At the end of day, there is a bin to leave your towels so you do not have to lug back to ship. We usually tip the attendant depending on how much help they provide. Anywhere from $20-40. In August he was missing in action and we still gave $20. We took the taxi back and gave the driver a $20 also. Enjoy. We love Barefoot beach and swam there before it was suite (sweet) beach. lovelife Posted November 19, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 19, 2017 Interesting. We've been there many times but never had a personal attendant assigned to us. I do notice those in cabanas have a personal attendant. Someone usually walks up to us and sets up our desired lounge chairs with two towels each and gets us mats if we ask but has never, ever returned throughout the day. I have talked to several guests on Barefoot Beach who were not even aware someone was available to set them up and get them mats! I especially love the seafood skewers at lunch. frank808 Posted November 20, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 20, 2017 Sometimes there will be somebody at the gate that will walk with you to some loungers and find you beach mats. Orher times we just walk in and find some loungers. More times we have had to find our own loungers thannhad someone help us. longislandcruisers Posted November 20, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 20, 2017 I believe the personal attendant is assigned to the cabanas only. it is probably part of the price structure when renting one.
DCT61 Posted November 20, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 20, 2017 There are attendants for the cabanas. The past 3 times we have had a cabana, the attendant offered to bring us drinks, food etc. We never really used his services, but they were offered. Colorado Babe Posted November 20, 2017 #9 Share Posted November 20, 2017 Every time we’ve sailed in a suite and went to barefoot beach an attendant has led us to our chairs. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare island lady Posted November 20, 2017 #10 Share Posted November 20, 2017 Will be there and check out Barefoot Beach for the first time next week. Not interested in a Cabana, since we don't sit still very often and love to walk around the area early in the morning to get some exercise. Not really sure the benefit of the area except for upgraded lunch...that we could just get on the ship. With being there on Oasis, beer and wine come with lunch in CK, but not at Barefoot Beach I understand.

Skip2MySue Posted November 20, 2017 #15 Share Posted November 20, 2017 We found the "Barefoot Beach" to be a poor selection of a name as walking in the water to and from the beach made for a very uncomfortable experience. Very sharp pebbles until you get further out into the water. Would definitely suggest water shoes to make it more pleasurable. Skip

yuvraj Posted November 20, 2017 #17 Share Posted November 20, 2017 My last visit was 2 yrs ago so things may have changed but I wasn't that impressed with the "upgraded" buffet. It's ok but nothing to get excited about IMO. If you have a suite then it is worth checking out what the exclusive barefoot beach has to offer but I wouldn't get too excited. The main benefit is that the beach isn't crowded and the cabanas are really comfortable if you are planning to spend the day there.
39august Posted November 20, 2017 #18 Share Posted November 20, 2017 Every time we have been to Barefoot Beach, ( several) we have been introduced to an attendant who then escorted us to the area we chose and set up loungers for us, if none already there. Usually they came by a couple of times to see if we needed anything. Yes,you need water shoes to enter the water. Once out about 2 feet, it is all sand. There is a lovely view from Barefoot Beach. We’ve never experienced fly problems at Barefoot. There maybe an occasional visit at your table but you are eating outdoors. I’m not sure what people expect. Rare John&LaLa Posted November 21, 2017 #23 Share Posted November 21, 2017 FWIW, I've never found the rocks to be sharp. Biggest issue I've had is the steepness of the slope into water Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app
