jsf Posted December 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2017 Since we booked are cruise we have been bombarded with e-mails to upgrade or buy packages. The closer to the cruise the more e-mails, I don't want to block out or drop my e-mail address from RCCL for fear of missing something important. I'm wondering if this approach works for the cruise line or is it upsetting cruisers. I think we get at least one offer a day now. How do you feel? J. Husky1987 Posted December 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2017 (edited) Unfortunately, there is most likely no company doing business anywhere that has a "Send me only the emails I want" box to check off on their website. Clarea Posted December 4, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 4, 2017 It's too bad they send so many, because I get in the habit of deleting and may lose something that's important.
setsail Posted December 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 4, 2017 Give us your email info, pw and all, and we can opt out for you on future emails Some don't mind, some do
Cauzneffct Posted December 4, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 4, 2017 I wouldn't mind them as much if they reflected actual sales. I don't think the price of the cruise we're looking at has changed by more than $.80 in months.
bouhunter Posted December 4, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 4, 2017 I get spam from online retailers we shop from, airlines, RCCL, etc etc. Delete and move on, could care less. Life is too short to let something so trivial be annoying.

J, As long as you complete your online check in, and print your documents, you won’t miss any critical emails. All of the cruise lines are sending more and more emails, as they anticipate that each mailing has the potential to drive a sale. Unfortunately, this will not only be done in email, but when you board the ship, all the way until you depart the ship on the last morning of the sailing. You can’t blame the employees for doing their job while aboard the ship, but a friendly, “I’m not interested,” and they will back off your case. Have a wonderful sailing! dreadpirate3 Posted December 4, 2017 #10 Share Posted December 4, 2017 You can send all of the marketing emails to another folder and just check them when you are looking for something. I still get updates and business email to my main folder.
Rare LMaxwell Posted December 4, 2017 #11 Share Posted December 4, 2017 I move stuff like that to my Spam mail once and then it always goes there. No big deal.
Biker19 Posted December 5, 2017 #12 Share Posted December 5, 2017 And then there's the alternative - you want to get all that spam and you get nothing.

Lately I've been thinking about how much email I receive from RCL. It's almost daily and it's too much. I also don't want to miss something so I've not unsubscribed, but have been annoyed as of late. Chiliburn Posted December 5, 2017 #15 Share Posted December 5, 2017 I find RC sales are a scam,no savings. They must think people are like sharks, when they smell blood they get into a frenzy and bite at anything
