Redraiderkcc Posted January 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2018 My family has narrowed down our choices to three. We plan to go on a cruise to the Bahamas in March. It will be my wife, 3 year old son and myself. The options are as follows: 1) 3 night Norwegain Epic. In a family Junior Suite. 2) 3 night Disney Dream. In a Family State Room. 3) 4 night Carnival Elation. In a Grand Suite. I should note, we are season pass holders to Disney. So my son has interacted with the characters many times. I am not sure how long that might hold his attention on the ship as we visit often. Many thanks for your advice.
Velvetwater Posted January 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2018 4 night Carnival since its an extra day. Are you taking a short cruise due to work commitments, cruising trial or price? If its price it may be worth going on a longer cruise in a balcony cabin or similar for the same price as a suite. Just a thought.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 13, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2018 March is spring break for many collages. 3 and 4 day cruises tend to attract a lot of spring break cruisers thus many people call these cruises "booze cruises". JMO -- I would not take a short cruise at that time or any time for that matter.
Rare Keith1010 Posted January 14, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2018 I would do Disney and that is because the other two because of time of year and such a short duration will be party cruisers and I wouldn't care for that. A three year old would enjoy Disney and I think the parents would too. Keith
Rare geoherb Posted January 14, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2018 I'd go for the longer one as well. Three days is too short.
MCC retired Posted January 14, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 14, 2018 If it must be a very short cruise , and must be in March , I would go with the Disney Dream to reduce the possibility of partyers as previously stated . It is the newest by far of the 3 ships . Also , a 3 day cruise is 4 days too short . The most unpleasant days of a cruise for us are embarkation day (less than 12 hrs onboard ) and debarkation day (less than 10 hrs onboard ) That leaves you only 1 full day of onboard cruise experience on a 3 day cruise . Wayfairers Posted January 14, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 14, 2018 I agree with the others that the cruise will be too short. But if that is what you want then I would choose Disney. Without a doubt Carnival will be full of drunk spring breakers and I suspect Norwegian will be too. We did a 7 day in March with Carnival and I think we were the only people that were ever sober on board. We are usually among the heavier drinkers....not that cruise even though we drank our usual amount. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Aquahound Posted January 14, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 14, 2018 I would also go Disney. I don't think the extra day is worth it to go on the Elation. A 4 day cruise on Carnival during Spring Break is something I would never do.
cmdchiefthom Posted January 15, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Having taken our 3 year old grandson on two cruises so far, I would certainly choose Disney!;p
jdvmd Posted January 15, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Another vote for Disney if this is the only time you can cruise and can only go for such a short time. If you have more flexibility, you might want to look at some other itineraries and/or cruise lines.
