Azamarajunkie Posted February 15, 2018 #51 Share Posted February 15, 2018 Well that's good anyway. What kind of tunes are they playing? Hope it's not jazz! Music, like food is always subjective, personally I love hearing Jazz, the more trad the better. Our Az cruise to Cuba via New Orleans had fantastic Jazz, both on board by the Quests orchestra and on the Azamazing evening.... pure Nirvana:D

takemewithyou Posted February 15, 2018 #53 Share Posted February 15, 2018 Well that's good anyway. What kind of tunes are they playing? Hope it's not jazz! It is similar to what Max used to play, easy listening, without the vocals. Yes, there has been some jazz from the orchestra up in LR, particularly on Fat Tuesday. Lottie A Posted February 17, 2018 #56 Share Posted February 17, 2018 Just saw on Facebook that CD Tony Markey and his wife Christine did a set in Journey's Spirits Bar last night. Apparently it was packed out. They were serving Tonytini cocktails. 😄
Rare uktog Posted February 17, 2018 #57 Share Posted February 17, 2018 Yes I saw that, it was very busy, so much so they were using the very sore white metal chairs. First pics I have seen of the back of Spirits, the big screens look awful and out of place but I will wait and see the reality in situ.... Riocca Posted February 17, 2018 #58 Share Posted February 17, 2018 We’ve just seen the pictures as well, those large screens are hideous hopefully it will be a failure and they will be removed fairly quickly. excitedofharpenden Posted February 17, 2018 #59 Share Posted February 17, 2018 Just so others know what we are talking about, here is one of the photos. I’ll probably be criticised for saying this, but it’s my own view. Those white chairs look hideous too and out of place, doing nothing to add to the atmosphere. I’m not sure who’s idea it was, but it looks awful. I know they use them in the show lounge if it’s busy, but at least it’s dark in there most of the time. Grandma Cruising Posted February 17, 2018 #61 Share Posted February 17, 2018 The white chairs would have been moved into there for the set to sit more people, they are not normally in there! Sent from my iPad using Forums

Sent from my iPad using Forums I realise that, but they still look awful and if this is going to be a regular turn then they need to get some more smart chairs in there. Phil Isn´t it the same chairs used for White Night? I agree they could have used some others. Probably an error on someones behalf to have them put to use in Spirit. They are really out of place. That said i can´t help noticing that classy huge screen. WOW. THAT is way over the top. It´s just my opinion, but I have to respect that.;p:D

Sent from my iPad using Forums That’s not why I mentioned them we recognised that - for me it’s not the look it’s the discomfort which is why on white nights or busy shows if that’s all that is left we have to not stay. Yes Odd my view from the photos is it’s now a guddle with no clear purpose- as my dear late dad would use a local saying it’s neither fish fowl or festering flour Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Melissaghoti Posted February 18, 2018 #74 Share Posted February 18, 2018 It seems disrespectful of the entertainers to have the screens competing for attention - indeed neither fish nor fowl and needs to be figured out.
