Current Cruise Director (CD) List

Mike is a former RCMP now working as a RCCL CD.  How's that for alphabet soup? I'd 'guess' that he will be back for your 9-28 cruise.

He was a mountie..Royal Canadian Mounted Police.  I've had him a few times and he does a good job.  Fairly easy to see around the ship, but I was with him on a small one.

He had been with the RCMP, became a CD, went back to the RCMP and now is back as a CD.  We had him on the Serenade a number of years ago.  He is a very good CD and was out and about quite a bit back then.  As I recall he even check in on the roll call before the cruise.

Cuddy Cudworth is on Indy until sometime in October, per post #1342.

Please refer to the most recent 2-3 pages of the thread for future reference - you'll always be able to find a current update, the list doesn't usually go more than 3 pages without an update. The list on the first page is from 2018 and is no longer relevant.

Have just come off the Indy - didn't see Cuddy during the 2nd week at all, he didn't do the Morning Show and didn't present  big events like 'Rock Britannia'

DW and I are going to be on Symphony for the 9/14 Western Caribbean itinerary, so it looks like Ricky will be the CD - going back through the thread it seems like he's got mixed reviews - anything particularly good or bad about him? If it helps baseline the "type" of CD we like, thus far we've had John Blair, Graham Seymour, Topi Ylonen, Carlos Torres, Drew Devine, and Michelle Olivera and of those, Graham's been our favorite. with Blair being our least favorite.

Not sailed with Ricky or most of the CD's mentioned above (except for John & Carlos), but these videos could help give you an impression of his style.

We just got off Symphony with Ricky.  He does a good job and is always dancing.  BUT...the Love and Marriage was TERRIBLE.  He was incredibly boring during it.

That's a shame as the CD really makes or breaks Love & Marriage, especially if there's a poor draw of the couples taking part and it's generally one of our favorites during the cruise.

There appears to be an error with Symphony.  Marc Walker is scheduled to be on Harmony, which is what post 1297 refers to.  There's no mention of Symphony at all in that post.  Who is next up on Symphony?

Mike Szwajkowski should be coming back when Ricky leaves. No idea where the rumour of Marc came from, he is permanent on Harmony due to being based out of Port Canaveral.

Michelle Oliveria is currently on vacation. Not sure who the current VY CD is. For Spectrum, Fang said that he would be on until the end of the year then going on vacation.

Voyager goes into dry dock next week... so i would suggest there will be no one (from next week) until mid October when it next sails.

Unfortunately, Drew Devine is back on the Adventure.

i can’t understand why Royal continues to employ him. He’s been Cruise Director on 3 cruises I’ve taken and the man only appears at the shows.

He does the morning show with the Activities Manager, a little Irish guy and the two of them do nothing but giggle at each other.

Drew is not visible or interactive with passengers.

We will be on Freedom in about 2 weeks for a B2B 9/22-10/6.

Does anyone know if it will be Katie, Cory, or Patricio at that time? I've heard some conflicting information so I just wanted to see if anyone had a definitive answer.

TIA

This is interesting as we've enjoyed Drew on Mariner, Monarch, and Oasis.  He was very visible on Mariner and Monarch and interacted with us and other passengers.  Oasis class is a different environment for Cruise Directors and I can understand why they might have a different approach on those ships.

Just came of Jewel on Sunday.

The Cruise Director was the worst one I have ever experienced. Some Italian girl, she could not speak on a microphone.  She was yelling into it.

And at times she suddenly yelled higher, can you hear me.... over the PA system...

It was impossible to hear her.
