Rare mysty Posted October 17, 2020 #6852 Share Posted October 17, 2020 My bit of joy for today....neighbours from across the hall in our apartment building brought back Iceberg Beer brewed in Quidi Vidi (outside of St. John's Newfoundland). The Iceberg Beer is made with water from pieces of icebergs harvested off the coast of Newfoundland. The bottle is a gorgeous blue and we've been told the glass is made in Japan. I decided to use the bottles for decor.

lincslady Posted October 18, 2020 #6857 Share Posted October 18, 2020 Greetings, coolers I was (pleasantly) surprised to be invited to attend hospital for a rather routine test, and the only reason for cancelling was that I would be waiting with the Accident and Emergency patients, and DH and I are both well over the age of 'consent' as far as catching bugs is concerned. Our only current problem with the local NHS is the inability to have the likes of steroid or B12 injections, which I think is country wide. Strangely - and my local friend feels the same - we are much more anxious about the possibility of contract Covid now than in the first phase in March. But trying hard not to be! Love the dog and kittens - my son's cat frightens the life out of any dog she encounters. Lola

On rounds with my residents, I'll often want to draw or write something to explain a concept. This works better if I draw it upside down, so it's right-side up for them. With a little practice, it's not that hard.

Rare TLCOhio Posted October 18, 2020 #6865 Share Posted October 18, 2020 It's Sunday afternoon and we have the WHOLE week ahead of us. Any "excitement" planned? My only "biggie" for the week is Tuesday having a MRI. Nothing too serious! Just a follow-up after a hearing exam last month when the MD found one of my ear drums was not catching some of the higher frequencies. He wants to check my brain and its functions, making sure it's there and mostly, kind of, somewhat working, etc. THANKS! Enjoy! Rare Lois R Posted October 18, 2020 #6867 Share Posted October 18, 2020 Hi Terry, this coming week? I have a follow up Dr appt with the GI Specialist who treated me in the hospital......that is Tuesday. Tomorrow? Well, to be honest, Kamala is coming here and I am trying to find out any information and if I could go see her but it seems none of the local news stations have any updated information about times and who is invited, etc......... And my most important thing to do this week? VOTING EARLY! Florida has early in person voting starting tomorrow!

QueSeraSera Posted October 18, 2020 #6869 Share Posted October 18, 2020 Good luck to Terry and Lois at the doctor's office. Terry I'm confident they will find all in order in the noggin. I also have one on Tuesday afternoon with my rheumatologist, dealing with some unexpected sharp shoulder pain. I'm going to blame stress over watching politics, but just hope the doc can figure out what's going on.

UpstateJan Posted October 19, 2020 #6871 Share Posted October 19, 2020 Greetings Coolers, stopping in to catch up. It was a great weekend, cold but sunny. Spent a lot of time outside with the pup, it was our 1 year anniversary of his adopting us. Hope everyone has a good week, best of luck to those with medical appointments. 2

lincslady Posted October 19, 2020 #6873 Share Posted October 19, 2020 We are in a real muddle here in the UK. Davey wavey - thinking of you; it looks as if you are in for a short sharp lockdown - it would be wonderful if only it would work. If. Reading and watching our news is torture at present, I find myself instead watching wildlife and nature programmes, and even the escapism of people looking for holiday homes in the sun! The intellect is suffering, the weight piling on and the alcohol intake going up a bit. But the sun is shining, and the birds are enjoying their morning nuts and seeds outside the window. When I was first starting school, I also had a habit of starting from the back of my notebook. Its the way we're wired, right brain left brain, which only got worse since the aneurysm. Poor DH is constantly hovering, so I find it necessary to play the occasional game of hide & seek on him... yesterday, I hid in the she-shed, when I heard his voice trailing around the front of the house, I made a dash to the deck. By the time he got back around the house, in a panic, I was resting in a chair by the heater, pup under my feet. He's convinced that he just missed me 😁 Gotta make your own fun in these days. 2

Lola Thanks Lola, It has been tough. We’re expecting the announcement shortly to lock us down from 6pm Friday. I Think they should lock down the whole UK and support all businesses and workers for that time. This “itty bitty” approach just isn’t working.
